I'd suspect the Patriots will find similar value lower down, or unearth someone in free agency. That seems to be their well-worn path.

This is a mock draft wensite. Cant change the order of the picks.
This is my draft. http://www.mymockdraft.com/MyDraft/pauldcpfc.aspx Only the first two rounds done so far. |
Done 4 rounds and published it because I dont want to go any further as I dont know any of the players.
|
Absolutely no chance that McFadden falls to #14.
|
That is what I thought but the Draftpicker kept recommending to drop him. I thought he would be gone before the Patriots and it seems I was right judging by your opinion.
|
The Raiders are making noises at #4, but Dallas love him and have two first rounders to play with. They're looking likely to move up.

Did you see the offense guy that died today at the age of 24. Was supposed to be drafted and supposedly rated high but not first-rounder high.

Former Newberry offensive lineman Benedict found dead at home
Associated Press Heath Benedict passed away at the age of 24. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Heath Benedict, a two-time Little All-American offensive lineman from Newberry College in South Carolina, was found dead on a couch in his home. Jacksonville police said no foul play is suspected in the death of the 24-year-old Benedict, a 6-foot-6, 326-pounder who finished up his senior season in the fall and left school to train for next month's NFL Draft. He was nine hours short of a business degree. Benedict took part in the Senior Bowl in January, the first Division II player to do so since 2004, and was invited to last month's NFL Combine. "He was a big, tough man, but he had a very gentle heart," Newberry president Mick Zais said. "He was a teddy bear." Benedict, who redshirted at Tennessee in 2002 before moving to Newberry, was a native of the Netherlands. He played high school football at the Peddie School in Hightstown, N.J. Jacksonville police spokesman Ken Jefferson said Benedict's body was taken to the medical examiner's office to determine the cause of his death. He was found dead Wednesday evening. 25/26 days to the draft I think.
Plus I didnt want this thread to drop any further. |
Three weeks on Saturday.

At least as the draft approaches we wont have to continually bump it:D
NFL.com think that Patriots and Jets are possibly going to compete for Gholston by trying to move up. IMO I would be happy with Leodis McKelvin. He is a good CB and the Pats could probably trade down for him. |
|
If McFadden falls all the way to the Bears at 14... I'd piss myself with excitement.
|
In Orlando I managed to pick up a Miami away jersey with JT's name and number in the Reebok shop at an outlet mall for $32. Sensationally cheap, that. So much so that I was tempted to get a few more at the same price - they had Antonio Gates in the Chargers' beautiful baby blue, Housh and Ocho Cinco in Bengals' home, Urlacher in Bears orange, and forty-or-so others that I can't remember.
With I'd bought the orange (third uni) Ronnie Brown one too now. Back there in May so if they still have it I'm nabbing it then. |
Thats my first draft. The 2nd one has McFadden at 8. Only because I think that that team will trade up for McFadden. I can now see the Pats trading to 10, 15 or 22 if they cannot get Gholston which is very unlikely now. The Patriots Podcast think that there is still a chance for Gholston so unless they know something we dont then there is a chance that McKelvin or a different CB at 10/15. I still think that the Dolphins will be happy with either Long since there is no-one that wants the first pick.

Saw that Mike Mayock guy predict that the Fins would pick Matt Ryan with the first pick in the draft. I really hope he's wrong (it seems to be a minority opinion) as Ryan seems to throw a lot of balls up for grabs in BC highlights I saw last year.

Everyone, everywhere has been saying that there is no "Franchise Quarterback" in this years draft.
NFL.com have Gholston as the overall first pick. Considering he was as low as 7+ a few months ago it shows how well he has been doing. The same with Branden Albert who I had in the 20s a few weeks ago but now have in the Top 7 ahead of McFadden. The Top 8 I am almost certain will be (in no particular order;)): Matt Ryan, Chris Long, Vernon Gholston, Branden Albert, Glenn Dorsey, Darren McFadden, Jake Long and either Sedric Ellis or Ryan Clady. I think there is a high amount of CBs that may be picked in the first round as well. Leodis McKelvin, Rodgers-Cromartie, Mike Jenkins, Aqib Talib and Antoine Cason. One last thought regarding Gholston. Does anyone think he is not big enough for a DE. I have heard rumours of him playing OLB for whoever he is picked for. Which team would he fit best if he did that? |

It's a one-horse race for me: I'll take Chris Long please, Mr Ireland. |
