To be fair, even Tony Romo himself seemed quite happy when he broke his penis on Jessica Simpson.

A 2.5-pound shipment of marijuana was seized at the home of Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jerome Simpson(notes) on Wednesday.

Bengals tackle Anthony Collins(notes) was with Simpson at the Crestview Hills, Ky., house when police confiscated the package. A spokeswoman for the California Department of Justice said police tracked the shipment from California after a two-day investigation.

A woman, Aleen Smith, signed for the package before police swooped in. Simpson gave consent for authorities to search his home, where they found six additional pounds of marijuana and paraphernalia including "packaging materials, scales and smoking devices."

Simpson and Collins were detained but not arrested. The case will be addressed by the Kenton County (Ky.) Prosecutor's Office on Thursday.

The head of the National Marijuana Initiative, a government-funded organization that coordinates marijuana enforcement, told Californiawatch.org that the home was set up as a distribution network. "They had it all set up to receive supplies of high-grade marijuana from Northern California, and from there, it was being distributed from that residence," Tommy LaNier told the website.

Simpson had a career-high 146 yards receiving in Cincinnati's loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Collins, an offensive lineman, did not play in the game.

My opinion on Robinson's hit was that it was a terrible hit, he's got previous, and should get a ban. Awful hit, lucky that Maclin was able to stay in the game.

Almost as bad was the full five seconds it took for the flag to be thrown. Clearly only came out of the ref's pocket when he saw Maclin not get up.

pauldrulez 23-09-2011 11:15 AM

There seem to be more of the diving at the leg of the QB hits going on as well.

There was 2 dangerous ones on Brady. Both unflagged. And Brady didn't whinge either. Belichick exploded on the sideline. Brady just threw another completion.

All QBs should be wearing the knee braces, it saved Brady from another ACL blowout.

The only way to cut down on low hits on QBs, headshots on any players is to suspend them. What's worse, a 4 game ban for smoking dope? Or knocking someone out with helmet-to-helmet hit?

My opinion is that I love Cris Collinsworth's commentary.

"Unbelieveable. Unnnn-believeable that he's done it again. Dante [sic] Robinson again."

Also after Randall Cobb's kickoff return.

"He was down! This is unbelievable! They flip him upside down. Another slip... look at that! He basically does a barrel roll and comes out and scores a touchdown. Son of a gun, what a game he's having."

What a great voice.

He also had a go at commentating on the World Cup out here. I got the feeling his heart wasnt really in it!

Agree 100%

The hit on Jackson last year was a good hit to me. This one on Maclin was obviously bad, he launched his helmet high with his arms down. Obviously, he wasn't going for a tackle. On the other side, Ryan got hit multiple times in the head that wasn't flagged. At least the NFL fined Jenkins for his helmet to helmet hit on Ryan.

I agree too, other than the bit criticising the referees for not protecting Brady.

Tough week on the suicide pool. The obvious pick would be San Diego, but I've been burned by them before. Even though that was the Schottenheimer days, I don't trust Norv Turner any more. Wait, I take that back, Schottenheimer is the worst.

Ok, so Newton sits in the pocket, Gerald McCoy breaks through the DLine and dives at the knee of Newton who doesn't wear the knee brace.

Torn ACL and MCL. Goes on IR. And with the way he plays, that ends the effectiveness of his career.

I don't care which QB it is, it's a rule. You cannot dive at the legs of Quarterbacks. They are the money men in the league and it is a rule.

Yes, Mr. D. Much like a Falcons secondary, I was merely taking a cheap shot at Mr. Brady, who as you know isn't so popular in these parts. Good to see the testosterone brewing so nicely for Tuesday though. Go get 'em, tiger.

Interesting to see that the San Diego player who dived at Brady's knee has been fined $15,000 for it. Haven't seen the incident other than live but while it scared me, I didn't think the defender had done enough for that kind of action, it's not quite the same as a helmet-to-helmet.

I am so pent up with frustration. All I need is Buffalo to beat us and i'll be taking down Brighton fans by the barrel-load

He beat the block, kept moving and dived directly for the knee.
