Weird. Corrected now.

Got it! I was amazed looking on nfl.com at the amount of players snapped up after the draft. As always, NE took no-one!

For those not wanting to look a patriots website :p. The 11 players are:
J Coffman T, East Carolina M Dillard S, Louisiana Tech C Feliciano DT, Maryland B Green-Ellis RB, Mississippi G Guyton LB, Georgia Tech C Norwell DE, Illinois V Redd LB, Liberty H Smith NT, Texas A&M J Stupar TE, Virginia C Tyler DE, Portland State R Wendell C, Fresno State. Anyone know anything about any of these. Couple more linebackers there. We released TJ Slaughter as well which I dont think NFL.com picked up on so I wouldnt completely trust that for your teams news. |
Nice to see my in-laws are taking a break from their holiday in Berwick and are now editing links on ESPN.com.
"Broncos' Cutler has diabetes, will continue to play" Because Diabetes stops people from doing anything and everything. Here's what it stops my Mrs from doing - absolutely nothing. |
Another thing with the 11 free agents is
a) No CB for the Patriots which means that the CBs they have are good enough. and B) No Wide Receivers which is a need for the Pats IMO. There is very little depth without Stallworth and Reche Caldwell. Gaffney may be able to step up to it but I doubt Washington will. One 5th round replacement is not going to make up for losing the other two |
Panthers have signed up 10 undrafted college players...

Oh, that's right, he played for the Redskins last year. :clown: Moss, Welker, Stallworth and Gaffney tended to be the main four WRs for them last year. They also had Benjamin Watson (thank goodness he doesn't like being called Ben, that would be awkward) and the consistent Kevin Faulk to use as receiving options, plus Washington who's been lurking on special teams for them. They're fine there. CBs might be a different matter, but Belichick's been creative there before. |
I am getting confused with Madden 08 :clown: I didnt mention Watson or Faulk as I they are not WRs. Washington replacing Stallworth wouldnt be too bad. It will probably mean a greater workload for Gaffney this year.
I really hate playing Madden 08, having a franchise with these WRs confuses me when I next look at the Patriots website. |
Stallworth will be a loss, providing he sticks to catching passes and not chasing UFOs. :D

For the Patriots fans here: (Well me and saxon anyway)
From the workouts today and yesterday: The PFW blog have given some good updates over the last day or two. 1) They believe O'Connell not to be that good at short passing, however they believe him to be excellent with his long passing. They are comparing him to Drew Bledsoe in that respect according to them. 2) Jonathan Stupar TE, has took 2 hail mary catches from O'Connell and have said that his catching is excellent in the 7-on-7 drills. 3) Wheatley said to be incredibly fast and has run 2/3 TD returns today. 4) They do not know who it is but RB #23 has impressed them more then the other 3 RBs that are attending the workout. 5) A punter who they believe is Dragosavitch? from North Dakota I think has impressed them. They said that he has kicked most punts from touchline to touchline but hasnt made it with some as he has been hitting the roof of the Training Centre :D 6) IMHO it looks promising, the WR taken in the 5th round doesnt seem to have an official position yet and has played DB, WR and RB so far. But he is another that they have looked at as a KR along with Wheatley and Wilhite as well. |
Dragosavitch is a good punter. He could make it in the NFL.

Cool.
Not sure if a Punter is of the greatest use to the Patriots as we never get to 4th Down and normally play the 4th down anyway. |
