So the Eagles have made 5 signings on the opening day of free agency. Texans FB/TE James Casey, 49ers NT Isaac Sopoaga, Rams CB Bradley Fletcher, Panthers LB Jason Phillips and the Patriots SS Patrick Chung. No big names so at least there'll be no dream team jibes this year! :D

pauldrulez 13-03-2013 07:22 AM

Casey is very good.

Chung is very crap.

I thought the Pats liked Chung? Surely better than the dross we have had at safety since B-Dawk left.

Interestingly no pickups on that abysmal O-Line yet.....can't imagine we'll go with any other position than an O-Lineman with out first pick in the draft, we HAVE to.

Dee Milliner, lock it in.

Sad to see Phillips go. James Anderson was overpaid, but will also make a solid LB for someone.

Losers

Washington Redskins: Yet another team that entered the offseason in a cash-strapped position. The first painful move Washington had to make was releasing top cornerback DeAngelo Hall. That decision saved the team $8 million in cap space, but the Redskins still need to make other tough choices to compete for free agents on the open market. It says here that a team used to making big noise this time of year will be pretty quiet.
In my book, cutting MeAngelo Hall makes them winners.

Delighted with the Phins' signings so far. Particularly two young, quick, explosive linebackers in Ellerbe and Wheeler. Feels like Philbin is making his mark via the ear of Jeff Ireland. Nice work.

saxoneagle 13-03-2013 09:01 PM

Welker gone to Denver.

jazman 13-03-2013 09:29 PM

Ouch!

C'mon man, don't be selfish. They re-signed Jordan Senn, what more do you want?

Oh yeah, and they’ve signed Drayton Florence and re-signed Derek Anderson.

jazman 13-03-2013 09:50 PM

Jerry Jones must be itching for a deal by now ...

Interesting move. Let Welker go and try and get Cruz. Deal based on the former not being the same player since his injury me thinks ...

Can't pretend I'm annoyed as it was always on the cards. Can't pay $6m a year to the 3rd option on the team. Amendola, Edelman and a speedster in the draft and I'm happy.

Benzhiyi 14-03-2013 12:50 AM

Amendola will fit that system perfectly. Sheeeeeeit.

oz_da II 14-03-2013 03:30 AM

Does Amendola come with his own physio's table?

Apparently the stadium workers at Foxboro are reinforcing all of the stadium's internal walls.

You could argue he took bigger hits than Weller because the throws weren't as accurate.

At least we have a genuine Receiver now, and not Matt Slater (I'm counting on Lloyd being gone)
