Do you really need Edelman now? Agree with the need of the speedster! Satisfying from the Eagles so far, although slightly surprised by the cutting of DRC, showed glimpses of ability and could have done a job. Presume it must have been partly an attitude thing, looks like Chip is keen on getting good attitude players in anyway. |
Edelman is a great punt returner, and between him and Amendola (5 years you get than Welker and can play outside as proven when healthy last year), they have the slot sewn up.
Pats could play 3 TE's now they have Ballard. Hernandez is pretty much a WR anyway |
Ex AFL star Saverio Rocca turning 40, punting for the Skins again this season.

Quite glad I don't have to feel guilty about liking Wes Welker any more. Seems like a good guy, suspect he has left New England with the best wishes of his former team-mates.
Would be interested to know if Larry Izzo still speaks to him though. |
I guess the arms race in the NFC West makes sense. Get all these salaries for the next couple of years while you can, before you have to pay your QB.

Was offered $16m for 2 years last year, fully guaranteed though |

EDIT: Contract is $12M for 3 years w/ $4M guaranteed. |
I like Chip Kelly concentrating on the defense in Philly. Kenny Phillips from the Giants instantly upgrades the safety position despite injury concerns and Ravens cornerback Cary Williams also helps out with an inexperienced and frankly pretty poor set of corners. Coupled with Chung and Fletcher things are looking a lot rosier for the defensive backs. I'm liking the signing of Connor Barwin from the Texans to help with the 3-4 pass rush too.
I'd expect a free agent on the offensive line next and then we can go to the draft picking the best player on the board as opposed to filling holes and potentially reaching for players. |

Pats had to convert a CB and a WR (Slater) to play Safety the last 2 years due to his ineptness.
He's Brandon Meriweather without the occasional playmaking moments |

Didn't this same thing happen with Philly before? Loads of free agent acquisitions and self proclamations coming to nothing .... ;)
As for Dallas, it's a worry. The cap position isn't great and the offloads are a clear indication that we want to do some good business in the draft. Therefore, cannot see us taking anything in free agency. Rumour has it we may not be able to keep hold of Bryant when his deal is there for the taking ... |

I'm looking forward to what is a complete rebuilding year under Chip Kelly with no expecations at all. Although obviously I'd like to see us win at least 4 games. Cowboys seem to have made as many cuts as the Eagles but don't seem to have made many signings, there are still some role players out there though going pretty cheap. Whose your new DC after the end of Rob Ryan? |

Bryant either infuriates me or amazes me, it changes every week. Might not be a bad thing to lose him...at least we won't have to pay for 24 hour minders! I saw Beasley play against the Redskins and, while he's far too small at the moment, he is an option as a 3rd WR (in the way Austin was, his breathrough year) and should get better. Stick with Austin and Witten as Romo has confidence in them. The number of times Bryant and Romo seem to be at eachother's throats when it goes wrong is worrying...better for the team perhaps if Dez moves on. |
Plus aren't Dallas still dealing with the punishment for the dodgy contract reworks during the uncapped year, so they have less money to spend?
