GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have agreed on a five-year, $110 million contract extension, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The deal would set the highest salary in NFL history, eclipsing the $120.6 million over six years the Baltimore Ravens gave quarterback Joe Flacco in March.

Rodgers will make $40 million in 2013, a league source told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen. The deal will add five years on top of the two years Rodgers has remaining on his contract, and keep Rodgers in Green Bay through the 2019 season, a source told Schefter.
Now if Matt Ryan will just sign an extension so we can get on with our lives.

Jesus, San Francisco might have gotten the best pass rusher in this draft in the 2nd round.

Shit, now they get the TE I wanted for the Falcons.

Jeez, the 49ers are having an A+ draft. They are trolling me like its the BBS fantasy draft.

pauldrulez 27-04-2013 07:30 AM

In comparison, I have no real idea what the Patriots have drafted.

I like the players, but I'm not sure on the need of a 3rd round CB and Safety, one would've been ok.

pauldrulez 27-04-2013 07:31 AM

And agree on the 49ers, having seen they got Lemonier in the 3rd as well as that 2nd, they're kicking backside

pauldrulez 27-04-2013 09:05 AM

And it's nice the BB is drafting his son's mates from Rutgers rather than real players.

davematt 27-04-2013 01:17 PM

As already said, the 49ers are having a ridiculously good draft.

An already stacked team has become more stacked. Going to take some beating this season :lux:

Now, Geno Smith to the Jets? What are they playing act? They currently have more active QB's on their roster than WR's!

davematt 27-04-2013 01:20 PM

Oh, and another point.

Now that Matt Barkley has fallen to the 4th round, he could become a steel. No risk of taking him too high; you could be getting a pro ready starting QB in a late round. So much value.

Poor old Mrs Joe Robbie has to be spinning in her grave that the orange is gone.

This really is beyond trolling now. The Falcons take some guy named Malliciah and I have to look at this.

Barkley to Philly? Never saw that one coming ... Vick still trusted at QB? Quistionable.

Much more happy with the Cowboys draft. Bit of a reach for the first round but having seen his interview, I am impressed with what he says ... but its all about what he does on the field.

ardeo 28-04-2013 12:14 AM

It's an interesting one, certainly solid value at the top of the 4th. Think it probably shows a lack of faith in Foles more than Vick. Vick only has a couple of years left with the Eagles max and Foles was meant to be in a genuine competition with him for the start this year.

Could either end up being a three way open competition, or more likely, seems that Vick will get the nod with the view to develop Barkley and have him start in a couple of years.

Eagles draft looks OK, difficult to know how it will turn out with a whole new style of play on both sides of the ball to come and all the free agent additions. Certainly is going to be interesting at the Eagles this year, looking forward to the pre-season for a first glimpse at how things might pan out.

Hate the lack of orange. Genuinely.

The NFL Network is much smarter this year with their Top 100 fans poll. Last year, the only choices were the players that were actually in the Top 100. This year is different. As good as he is, I know that Andy Lee will not be on the list. Here's the first 10:
Quote:

91 Troy Polamalu
92 Gerald McCoy
93 Anquan Boldin
95 Daryl Washington
95 Max Unger
96 Dashon Goldson
97 Heath Miller
98 Maurice Jones-Drew
99 Trent Williams
100 Dennis Pitta
And the players are still overrating Polomalu. Washington is too low and I can't believe they have Miller and Pitta on the list.

Washington top 40
Pitta top 400
