Am I glad I don't pay for the NFL Network!!!
The coverage and in particular the commentary is awful compared to the networks and ESPN

Really?

I think NFL Networks coverage of Thursday Night Football is outstanding. The two hour build up with Rich Eisen and his compadre's is awesome, and the commentating team of Brad Nessler and Mike Mayock is great. I could listen to Mayock talk about football all day. When he talks, people listen!

And on the game last night, the Niners got their identity back. Run first, pass second.

CK7 is still a young QB; can't expect him to win games on his own, which seems to have been the case the last two games. Give the ball to Frank and let him do his thing!

CK7?! You make him sound like a Calvin Klein product.

The Rams are just flat out awful & getting worse in every department apart from the Kickers!

I`ve had it with Sam Bustford. All the new so called weapons drafted on offence & he can`t find any of them. Its time to move him on & draft a new franchise QB. This team has been rebuilding for ten years! Maybe its time to move back to LA?

Josh Freeman is available ;)

Talking of Freeman, whose going to trade in for him? The Jags?

Nobody!

not unless somone's no1 QB goes down anyway. Nobody will want to take on his contract either.

Absolution 27-09-2013 10:30 AM

Freeman is owed a big chunk of guaranteed money I think, so I doubt anyone will want to pay him it or he'll fancy re-negotiating it.

Yes, Bucs will have to consider paying him a large chunk of that money if they want a trade and even then it is not likely to be more than a 5th or 6th.

I was pretty pissed when I wrote that last night.
The coverage isn't so bad.
I'm not paying for it so I shouldn't really complain.

Ditto, love Mike Mayock on commentary, so knowledgeable about every single player in the game, the game in general, rules....he's excellent, particularly like him around draft time.

On the game last night, I've just watched it condensed on Gamepass....happy the 9ers are back to winning ways but it was only against the Rams. Kap looks ok, thought he looked a bit cagey at times last night and his receivers didn't help him at times.

Sam Bradford should be considered a flop for the Rams, he's not proven himself in this league and has had plenty of time to do so, he shouldn't be anything more than a backup somewhere, wouldn't mind betting the Rams make a trade or draft for a QB next off season. The pass to Chris Givens I think it was, in the endzone early on in the game was so off target and over thrown by a country mile, a simple pass that you'd expect every starting QB in the NFL to make. Thought the Rams looked half decent on D and just got worn out having to constantly tackle Frank Gore. They could really do with some tacklers in the secondary though as there were quite a few missed/poor tackles.

Don't know if I liked seeing the Rams kneel out the game with over a minute to play, get some fringe players in there and give them a shot, someone has to step up for the Rams and then was the perfect opportunity to give them a go.

I still can't understand why the Jags haven't offered Tebow something....makes so much sense for them commercially and he's miles better than Gabbert or Henne IMO. He puts bums on seats and will get the place buzzing with all the media coverage, plus it's his home state....no brainer if you ask me.

I think they'd rather get a rookie next year.

Tebow probably wouldn't be any better than Gabbert at Jacksonville as he wouldn't have Decker or Thomas.

I have to admit that while the whole Tebow story has been pretty much ridiculed you have to see the NFL - A Football Life, the first one that featured Tebow. Perhaps it is how they put the story to you but he's such a likable guy. After watching it you just want him to get a job at a team and for him to succeed.

I've heard Minnesota....

The game last night was shit. The 4th Q was a punt-fest. Shows how bad the Rams are that the 49ers won so easily, especially considering the Rams beat them TWICE last year.

The Rams are like the Vikings, they go & draft some exciting young receivers then set out with the such a boring vanilla offense that doesn't make the most of the players.

It's the other end of the spectrum to Carolina who try a lot of things on offensive, but since taking Newton haven't gone after any wide receivers, running backs or tight ends high in the draft to help him out.

I think this is the last year of his contract, so I don't think teams want to bring him in and risk him playing well and get a good deal. They'll want him to waste away on the Bucs bench then bring him in on a reasonable free agent deal next season.

saxoneagle 27-09-2013 05:59 PM

Oh, and I'm tempted to neg rep Davematt for the CK7 abomination. In fact, we all should :D
