You'll get them back :p

Had a bad feeling about this one, and it played out exactly as I thought it would. Panthers demonstrated they are probably a 1st/2nd round playoff team at best this year, when the more established teams up their game. But heading in the right direction.

Absolutely delighted with the 49ers win.

Massive!

You could probably do with one more Receiver and some DB's.

Whereas in New England, I'd like 2 TE's (and this draft has some monsters!), a DT and a Center!

Eric Ebron, bottom of the 1st round. He's a bit of a unit!

Ebron or Amaro. Either is good with me.

Need a Gronk backup and a Joker TE in the Hernandez/Graham style.

Watch Belichick & co trade out of the 1st round, then pick up a Tight End from Middle Tennessee in the 2nd round.

The NFL thread

Josh Gordon's 774 receiving yards in the past four games is the most yards in a four game stretch in NFL history.

We were dreadful last night. New Orleans quite frankly deserved it. Very rare if ever they beat us twice in a season though so still some hope. Trouble is if it ends all level that NO take the Division on difficulty of schedule. :grrr:

Well, no turnovers or busted plays from the Panthers, so you'd have to say that NO were resolute on defense and electric on offense, rather than the Panthers being awful.

After the game, Cam said they would have to use NO as a yardstick for where they need to be. The same could be said of him personally and Drew Brees, with regards to being an elite QB. Brees really shredded us.

We gave them at least three very wide open TDs. We also had two good field positions which we only converted to 6-0. If it had been 14-0 I think it might have been a different game. Those two drives swung the confidence and momentum in their favour imho.

Yep, but Saints defense was excellent throughout. Add to that the missed field goal and Byron Bell's penalty that stalled a drive when we were chasing the game, but it was more Saints good play than Panthers bad play IMO.

If there's a need, Belichick normally finds the players and trades up.

Need a DT/34DE - Ty Warren
Need a TE - Rob Gronkowski
Need a LB - Donta'a Hightower
Need a DE - Chandler Jones.

I think they look at a TE early, and then double dip in the 4th round. DT will be a need early too.

It depends on Free Agency though.

Out of interest, what's your thoughts on Thompkins & Dobson?

Been good enough this year?

Thompkins gets open quicker than Dobson. But, he can be dodgy with his hands and not always in the right place. He reminds me of Ocho Cinco and Lloyd in their times in New England. But, he's young and was an UDFA, so hopefully he can improve that. You can't catch the ball and be on the floor! He must average 0.01 YAC!!

Dobson runs one of the best sluggo routes I've seen. He's going to be a very good deep ball Receiver for New England. It's a shame the injury has put him inactive for the minute.

Both will stick around, Dobson long-term.

I think the Patriots will be heading back to their 07 offense for much of the remaining games. 4WR/1RB. Get the 2 slot guys in there, have Vereen playing everywhere. Rotate Boyce and Thompkins along with Dobson.
Then have Ridley and Vereen with a bit of Blount in there from the run game.

I don't think the season is over, but the players who aren't on IR at the minute need to get healthy. Mainly the DB's and WR's (Talib, Dennard, Dobson, Thompkins)

How 'bout them Cowboys?

Josh McCown was pretty impressive again for Chicago.

Swanny32 10-12-2013 12:43 PM

Thanks Dallas. :)
