CPFC BBS - The NFL thread

They brought the best receiver from the German Football League in for a tryout last year and had YouTube kicking sensation Havard Rugland in camp all preseason, and this week the Lions kicked over another rock looking for talent – American rugby.

The Lions signed rugby sevens star Carlin Isles to the practice squad today.

Isles, who ran a 4.22-second 40-yard dash in a workout for the Lions earlier this week, played football and ran track at tiny Ashland University, and now plays wing for Team USA Rugby.

Why didnt Dre Kirkpatrick, who just intercepted Flacco on 4th and 10, knock it down to the floor? by catching it it means they start from near their own 20, if it had turned over on downs then they would have been in Ravens territory, just.

Dolphins and Ravens have blown it... Steelers have done all they can... Now it is all in San Diego's hands against a weakened Chiefs as to whether they make the Post season or not. :eek:

If Pittsburgh make it it would pretty extraordinary given the fact they would have to hope for three favours... We shall see.

Flacco is a decent QB. Baltimore were in a tough position though. The contract he wanted was way over the top but how can you say no to a guy who has just won you a Superbowl. :eek:

Baltimore did that very thing years ago with Trent Dilfer. Sure, Flacco's better than Trent Dilfer but it is ridiculous that Flacco makes more than Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. (Actually, I'm pretty sure Tony Romo made more than all of them this season.)

Of course that is ridiculous.. Not sure they can justify it but their problem. How does his Draft partner Matt Ryan compare?
