eagles gave us lots of problems in pre season with their hurry up, fast paced offense.

Given we were 1-3 and ended up 12-4 I won't read too much into pre season results. Were the Eagles playing Foles or Vick in that game. We need to shut down Celek. A lot of talk about Jackson and McCoy but Celek is a real danger. This all of course matters not if New Orleans win. :o

The Saints seemed to have done good with scoring 47 points!

Just seen the 2014 draft order.

Fancy a few QB's going early doors with both the Texans & Jags up early doors.

Redskin fans must be feeling sick. They won't even get a first round pick after the RGIII trade :D

Perhaps they will finally be forced into a period of serious rebuilding... Scouting for untapped talent and cheap bargains instead of throwing cash around the place....

Seen a few QB names thrown around with Teddy Bridgewater being the main one... Johnny Manziel and Blake Bortles seem to be a couple of others off the top of my head.

I think Derek Carr will end up in the Top 10 too. Although you can count out Houston taking him as they will probably be hesitant from the time they picked his brother.

Probably because he was useless maybe? :o

It's amazing that Carr is still only 34 years old and was the Texans first ever pick. (Side note: when the Texans beat the Cowboys in their first game, Suicide pools all over the country were destroyed) He was sacked 249 times in 5 seasons with the Texans which is nuts. Miami gave up the most sacks this year at 58. He probably never got over all those hits.

I'm not sure getting sacked 70 odd times in his first year really did him much help.

First 20 Draft picks

1. Texans
2. Rams (via Redskins)
3. Jaguars
4. Browns
5. Raiders
6. Falcons
7. Buccaneers
8. Vikings
9. Bills
10. Lions
11. Titans
12. Giants
13. Rams
14. Bears
15. Steelers
16. Cowboys/Ravens (coin flip)
17. Cowboys/Ravens (coin flip)
18. Jets
19. Dolphins
20. Cardinals

There's doubts over all the QBs but I think Bridgewater is the best bet. They could all do with having a more steady learning curve rather than being thrown in.

McCarron could easily end up being the most solid QB of the lot of them, but he'll probably get the advantage of going in the 2nd round like Dalton did.

Or he'll go to the Jets and be ruined.

Maybe but he was toilet the few times he managed to disgrace the Panthers jersey. Even when he got fit again 43/44 year old Vinny kept him out of the starting team.

If the Falcons had let the Redskins score that 2-pt conversion, they would be picking #2. And if they had let the Bills hang on to that game up in Toronto, they would be picking first. So instead of being able to trade down and still get Clowney/Matthews, we'll likely get Barr and try to shoehorn him into our defense.

Latvian Eagle 31-12-2013 05:26 PM

Clowney... I like that name. :clown:

The only good thing is every team in the Top 5 could use an upgrade at QB. Although the Rams will probably go with Matthews. I think Bradford is a waste at this point and if they cut him, they will save $23M of cap space the next two seasons.

Latvian Eagle 31-12-2013 05:44 PM

With two top 15 picks the Rams could afford to chance a QB.

If Hundley, Manziel, Bridgewater and Bortles all comes out, there can be 5 QBs taken in the first 15 picks. (As it stands now before all the evaluations) Then you have Mettenberger who probably would have been a first round pick without the injury.

Latvian Eagle 31-12-2013 07:18 PM

Teams from your top 20 who will take or certainly look at a QB this draft...

9. Bills
10. Lions
11. Titans
12. Giants

14. Bears
15. Steelers
16. Cowboys/Ravens (coin flip)
17. Cowboys/Ravens (coin flip)

Steelers and Cardinals as well as Giants will all look. Deep crop.

Need or not, if McCarron is available when the Patriots pick (doubtful), they take him.
