There might be a proposal in the next year or so for a change in the extra point ruling.

Instead of the current ruling, the idea would be to scrap the field goal/extra point all together and instead having it in a way where you get 7 points for a TD, and if you want to go for the extra point, you play it like you would a 2 pt converstion. If you make it, you get an extra point taking it to 8 points, but if you miss, you only get 6 points...The play it safe option would be to take the 7 points and call it at that.

I'm not big on it at all. Hope it doesn't come to fruition.

Talk about carny rules. Why not just eliminate the XP and let teams go for 2pts every time. I remember in the Rams salad days, Jeff Wilkins was hurt for a few weeks. They didn't bother to sign a kicker, they ended up going to 2pts every time. Don't remember if they bothered with FG attempts either. That was fun.

Most will not be interested but I have been heavily involved in arrangements for this.
The UK Cowboys Fans Bash at the No1 Sports Bar in Moorgate, London the night before the Cowboys game at Wembley.
If you're around, an NFL fan and fancy a night out which I'm expecting to be a good crack then get yourself a ticket ...

:p

That's Dave Dameshek (NFL.com) having a laugh. Wouldn't even be contemplated.

I can't imagine the quarterbacks trying very hard if the likely number one pick is some gun QB likely to take the winning QB's job the next year. ;)

What's you favourite NFL player name then???

For me got to be Cleveland Brown's Barkevious Mingo! http://www.nfl.com/player/barkevious...540140/profile

davematt 24-01-2014 02:26 PM

Another player who was drafted with Mingo last year, Ezekiel Nana "Ziggy" Ansah. Or just Ziggy Ansah.

Sad day for the Patriots.

He made that Offensive Line better than it was year after year. Be it Stephen Neal! Ryan Wendell, Dan Connolly... He developed them all and made them look remotely like a good line, no matter how many injuries.

Will be hugely missed.

Plus, you're losing George Godsey. "Goose" is a legend down here in the Georgia Tech parts.

ChaceTheAce 24-01-2014 02:33 PM

Anybody going to any of the games @ Wembo this year?

Got tickets for Cowboys/Jags on the 9th November.

All other games look sold out completely. Love it!

Beckenham Boy 24-01-2014 02:36 PM

Got Cowboys v Jags tickets too, wanted Lions v Falcons but mates took too long

Swanny32 24-01-2014 02:40 PM

Got a season ticket....can't wait! One of the guys I go with can't make the Raiders game so my dad has snapped up his ticket for it. Long story, but it'll be nice to have a day out with the old man watching some sport. Really looking forward to that one.

davematt 24-01-2014 02:44 PM

I'm going to the Jags v Cowboys game as I'm going with a fellow Palace fan whose never been to a game before.

I was tempted to get a season ticket just for myself and then just sell the Jags v Cowboys ticket, but I'll just wait till the games get closer and snap one up as I'm sure spares will come available on here or twitter (Or stubhub).

I'm hoping the Jags draft Manziel; it would be pretty cool to see him at Wembley.

We move on! When BB's coaching tree branches into the NFL, his coaches get snatched up and promoted.

dannyboy1807 24-01-2014 02:47 PM

I got tickets for the Detroit Lions vs Atlanta Falcons.

Just out of curiosity, as its on my bucket list,

Has anybody on here been to the Super bowl? or know anybody who has,

For a brit, just how hard is it to get tickets? Of course I'm not talking about this year but for the future. It must be different gear to any sporting event really.

Dead easy to get tickets. Near impossible to get a ticket you can afford.

I know some people stateside that have been to it.

Its not hard to get tickets if your willing to pay a hefty price.

You could pick up a ticket still for next Sunday, but you would be looking at $2,000 per ticket.

I would LOVE to go one day.

davematt 24-01-2014 04:31 PM

And just to add, that $2,000 ticket would be in the top tier of MetLife.

I have decided I prefer watching the Eagles on TV/Gamepass than being a neutral at a live game. with that in mind I decided not to think about going to any Wembley game until the schedule is announced.

D'Brickashaw Ferguson

Apparently named after the character Ralph de Bricassart from The Thorn Birds who was played by Richard Chamberlain.

If this is correct then it's going to be a long but enjoyable night!
