Not sure why the Browns felt the need to swap picks with the Vikings there, they weren't picking Gilbert.

Actually, maybe they were afraid of the Lions moving ahead of them.

Looks like Johnny Manziel is Skip Bayliss' new Tim Tebow.

Chastising every team that "should have" picked him.

Moron.

Funk Butter 09-05-2014 03:49 AM

I bet dollars to donuts that if Cleveland thought Manziel would have been there at #22, they would have drafted Sammy Watkins at #4 instead of trading it.

No RBs in the first round for the second straight season.

He's either gonna be Anquan Boldin or Mike Williams.

oz_da II 09-05-2014 07:08 AM

Kelvin Benjamin's current Panthers wide receiver teammates have caught the same amount of balls as Panthers as Benjamin has.

pauldrulez 09-05-2014 08:16 AM

Very happy with the Easley pick.

oz_da II 09-05-2014 08:31 AM

Smart pick by the Packers, hopefully Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix will fix up that leaky secondary.

Top pick.

I was hoping he would somehow fall to the Niners or we would trade up for him.

Dan Hanzus on NFL.com:

"Benjamin has the tools to be a legit No. 1 option. Standing at 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds and possessing an 83-inch wingspan, Benjamin is a jump-ball stud who presents a physical mismatch for defensive backs and linebackers".

Cam will be delighted with this.

I really didn't see him being available at this point, so you've done really well. He has Julio Jones-esque type talent IMO.

That depends on whether any of them ever faced Jake Delhomme

Not overly happily with the Niners pick.

With the picks we have, we should have traded up.

We needed to add to our secondary, but corner was more of a need. Not so much Safety.

Value pick at that point as well, very good player.

As for this fuss about Benjamin, I would just look at Stephen Hill as well as (as mentioned on NFLN), the other recent receivers who have had one good year before declaring in the draft, not a good track record there.

Looks a good player though.

The chat about Benjamin here seems to be that he isn't too polished, but they can coach that into him. GM Dave Gettleman says you can't coach his size and frame, which the Panthers haven't had at WR.

He can have immediate red zone impact, and eventually develop the rest of his game hopefully.

He certainly upgrades the wide receiving core...

Always nice when you've seen the player play a few times much like Eddie Lacy last season.

Raiders must be very happy with getting Khalil Mack at 5, will be interesting to see how they go next season with Justin Tuck and LaMarr Woodley on defence. MJD and DMC (if fit) on offence.

The Panthers have three proven running backs plus Cam, a highly productive TE in Olsen, and to put it into perspective as per Ron Rivera, have to find a way to catch the average ten passes per game that fall to the receivers.

Until they escape from Hurney's salary cap hell, losing players on short term deals and replacing veterans with cheaper options will be the way. I like the general direction Gettleman is taking. This pick is his first major risk though. It's coming out that one of the reasons they let Smith go was because they didn't think he'd make a good mentor. Hopefully Benjamin can vindicate his judgement!

Hard division next year, I like the Chargers to do well this year too!

I know the Jags needed a QB, but they may end up seriously regretting not taking Mack with their 3rd pick. Everyone I've listened too are massive on him. Oakland will be delighted!

Dave Nunn 09-05-2014 11:23 AM

Buffalo's 1st and 4th round picks in 2015 and Justin Gilbert for the #4 & #145 picks!!!!! :p :lux:
