The NFL thread
Dennis Allen fired in Oakland.
He's clearly the problem there... |

Fire McDaniels.
What an awful performance. |

The one thing that pisses me off the most is watching Revis get criminally misused week after week. No chance he re-signs unless it is fixed. He built his reputation on press/man coverage. In New England, he plays 10 yards off the line of scrimmage and half the time, he's in Zone. Stupid. All 5 stages of the game were shit - average at best. They can't pass the ball, they don't even try to run the ball the last 2 weeks against 2 of the worst run defences in the league, and continually running Vereen who seems scared of any type of contact is just a waste of time. They can't stop the run without committing to it, and they don't get any pressure either. They've somehow managed to make last year's run defense look good, while getting zero pressure. But hey, Belichick knows what he's doing... Worst case scenario for this team is that they go 6-10. The schedule ahead is harder than the 4 games they've just played. Denver, Indy, San Diego, Chicago, Green Bay, Detroit and splitting the games vs Buffalo and NYJ... Even 6 wins could win the AFC East. Awful division yet again, and the other teams are surpassing themselves with dumbness. |
At the risk of Latvian Eagle coming in and asking if this is a Patriots thread in between questions about uniforms, I see other teams play each week, and they look fast, physical and at least have some sort of game-breaking speed or big play potential.
I look at the Patriots on both sides of the ball, and I don't really see anything there. The Patriots have become what they always tried to make the other team. A team that the opposition is not scared to let have 10 play drives, because it's unlikely they will drive 80 yards on each drive to do it. Sad to watch a great QB in decline with no talent around him, but great for the rest of you all! Feel for Brady, because Manning/Brees would be the very same in this situation IMO. |

Even more so when I realised that the Pats were, before last nights game, 3rd favourites in the betting (on PP at least). I still do think that it is wide open this season even though it is just four games gone. Time will tell I guess but perhaps the fact that it is not a particularly strong division that the Pats are in may count in their favour. Just. |

They'll take ages to recover from that Carson Palmer trade. One of the worst trades ever... |

Just finished watching Draft Day. Decent enough even if the actual draft day machinations were pretty ludicrous. Some strange casting choices, P Diddy as a super agent and Arian Foster as a college RB.

I'll beat Funk Butter to the Deadspin content today. Can anyone see the Colts definition of a double-standard here?

Falcons in Delaware?
Might be Paul Worrilow's mum and dad buying a couple of jerseys. |
Bucs domination in Florida?
Bucs domination in anything? |
