Very true, hadn't thought about it in that way. I guess you can class the college system as kind of loosly equivalent to Championship and possibly League 1 football in the UK ... Difficult to compare I know but next best thing. So if football did this then all the players who played in the Championship and League 1 would be available in a draft in July maybe ... :)

I will be taking a look at the 12 that Dallas picked and see what the thoughts are on those at some stage when time permits. But the drafting of a QB is very interesting.

Erm, it was partially because of things like that that I ended up doing what I did.

He is a backup.

Romo is still rated pretty high in this league and unless he performs a Brad Johnson for 5 games in a row, this guy will only see time when the Cowboys are a ton of points ahead.

Are the 4 NFCE teams, the best in terms of RB ability? All have a top 10 RB in terms of the league, and all have a decent backup in some shape or form.

Two other things before I leave for Tonbridge-Carshalton.

1. Why do the Phins really want Taylor? The one year without Porter and look what happened. And they won't move Porter for Taylor apparently.

2. I got a question answered by Vic Carucci on NFL.com yesterday (always a positive). Didn't like the answer though. :(

Deadly quiet on that front. I remain baffled as to why Peppers has yet to sign his franchise tender, which is really the only way he's going to be moved (if he's going to be moved at all). And it's hard to believe that there would be any deals made now involving the 2010 draft. As for Taylor, I'd say he probably has a better chance of rejoining the Dolphins than going to New England.

I'm not a complete tool Paul, I know that. But we also brought in the Lions aged backup.

Agreed on the RB position though, we are pretty stacked up there with three I would say.

I would have thought his drive in the last two minutes against Texas would have got him picked. Too much value in measurements and not enough in how players can play I'd say.

What about his first play at the Senior Bowl? Took the snap from center, got his legs caught up in the O-Line, fell over but somehow got the ball to the RB.

Skins rookie Glenn says he lied in first interview

The NFL career of Redskins rookie linebacker Cody Glenn has begun with a mini-scandal in which he's admitted lying to local reporters about why he was suspended for three games at Nebraska last season. The fifth-round pick said he got so caught up in the euphoria of being drafted that he told a big fib. During a conference call with local reporters Sunday, Glenn was asked why he'd been suspended at Nebraska. Fair question. Here was Glenn's response:

"I got caught up with selling some tickets I wasn't supposed to," Glenn said. "I did it, and I got caught up in it. Coach Pelini had to do what he had to do, but it wasn't nothing really big. It was just something where they didn't want to hurt the team."

That explanation certainly caught Nebraska off guard since they didn't know anything about a ticket-scalping story. A follow-up call by a reporter from the Associated Press to Glenn prompted a confession. He had made up the story.

"So many people kept asking me about it, everywhere I go," Glenn said. "That was the rumor out there, so I just said, 'OK, yeah, I sold tickets.'

"It was just so people would kind of leave me alone, just to get them an answer, for people who had to have an answer. There's so much I'm going through, trying to finish up school. And to have people constantly nagging in my ear about 'What did you do?' blah, blah, blah. I got tired of that. That's all that is. I didn't mean to confuse anyone."

Special teams coach DeCamillis broke a vertebrae in his back without paralysis but one of the scouts weren't so lucky it seems. The minicamp included the drafted players and several free agents ....
