Not sure who we're playing home or on the road but I worked out that we'll be playing these teams next season...

Atlanta Falcons x2
Tampa Bay Buccaneers x2
New Orleans Saints x2
New York Giants
Chicago Bears
Seattle Seahawks
Arizona Cardinals (Apparently the 2006 season is the only seasons since 2001 where we haven't played the Cardinals)
San Francisco 49ers
St. Louis Rams
Pittsburgh Steelers
Baltimore Ravens
Cincinnati Bengals
Cleveland Browns

I'd take 10-6 from that set of games!

Fact.

I saw that on the schedule the other night .... I'm going to spend the weekend watching the channel and decide from there ...

I think the Lakers are on this weekend as well as the Milan derby.

Oh, Pardon The Interruption and Around The Horn are ok. Nothing worth paying an extra £10-£12 for, IMHO.

AddiscombeEagle 22-01-2010 06:16 PM

i series link pardon the interuption, love it.

Can I ask one question?
Sorry if this is obvious, but I know the rules of the game quite well but , but still in my ignorance cannot figure out why the Bills have Miami, NY Jets and Patriots in their division every year. Obviously its not a geographic thing due to Miami. What is the history behind this out of curiousity?

and goddam it why do the Bills not win anything!

When I went to the game. Loved the culture in the car park , pre-game bbq , beers all from the boot of the car, banter, socialising . Can`t imagine that in the Sainsburys Car Park ever being endorsed

elliott 22-01-2010 08:01 PM

Its historical.

Which is a load of bull IMO.

Polish Pete 22-01-2010 08:04 PM

Cheers
So when Jacksonville joined . Did they just replace the team before which went bust/ relocated?

elliott 22-01-2010 08:08 PM

Jacksonville were an expansion team I believe. Mid 90s?

The league has steadily grown over time. This is the largest its ever been I think.

Just wanted to say the playoffs this year have been the most exciting I've seen for ages.

As a Bears fan, cheering on the Vikings the other night was odd.

I've even texted Ben I've been that excited :)

I knew about the Browns and Oilers moving cities etc, but disn`t realise that this has been going on for years.

All we have had is Wimbledon going to Milton Keynes

Truely shocking.

One day your`re a fan of a local team. then they bugger off 1000 miles. WTF

I honestly didn`t realise this happened and now am worried for the Bills!!!

The ones to worry about evidently are the Bills, Jags and Vikes in particular. There's a few others too certainly.

The real big heartbreaking stuff involves Baltimores loss of the Colts. Their dodgy replacement of the Colts with the Browns (now Ravens), and also the movement of the Oilers/Titans. Wiki them.

I'm always really surprised. Everyone in Baltimore absolutely loathes the Colts (and a lot of old Colts legends, are now in fact Ravens legends, rather than new Colts legends), but they don't seem to see the hypocrisy in their loathing, given that Modell ****ed Cleveland bad whilst inventing the Ravens.

All I can be certain of it all is that Art Modell is a prick. It made me wince when I read his name on the Ring of Honour at M&T in Baltimore

Yep, no worries.

He's already done that and is stalking me in other threads, he really is the true definition of "pathetic".

Apologies to ardeo for quoting that ****.

You should be, unfortunately - they'll be the Toronto Bills in a decade's time.

By which time the Jags will be an LA franchise with a new name. (Ramders?)

I' have always been the same, it's hard to understand it until you really get into the game. It is very difficult to compare it with other sports particularly football in the UK where clubs are relatively close together and there are a lot of them. Whereas NFL has 32 teams spread across a large country. It does kind of makes sense but when you are looking at the history of the the teams it does seems very odd that the current Browns aren't the old Browns for example ...

Toronto would have to build a new stadium as that SkyDome thing would be the smallest stadium in the league. I can't see the Argonauts going down quietly either.

Didn't they have a go at this (and got shot down quite quickly) in the 80's?
