Bye guys - I'm about to leave for Foxboro. I'm so excited. Seriously, I'm like a kid in a candy shop.

:lux:

Let's go Pats!

Good luck to Farve and the Jets tonight.

Will be sky plussing it and watching it tomorrow night.

jazman 13-11-2008 06:08 PM

And thanks guys. My mate managed to get Nicks tickets for the end of the month and he will pick them up when he gets out there. :p

An empty one to piss in maybe if you got desparate :o

Enjoy the game though fella :p

My final opinions on tonights match:

Thomas Jones will struggle past the Defensive Linemen.
The Patriots backfield aren't experienced but the rumours that Sammy Morris or LaMont Jordan are going to return are gathering and should it be Jordan, our wildcat will be used at some point.

Ty Law, if they plug him in to that secondary, then it could be trouble for either team. The curse of an ex-player, or the unfit player with 3 days to learn a playbook against Randy Moss and Wes Welker.

My predictions
Either 31-20 to the New England Patriots or 47-23 to the New York Jets.

Strathclyde Eagle 13-11-2008 08:57 PM

According to that Office Pools site the Cowboys are a 1.5pt favourite on Sunday. Not sure how they work that out. I'd have the Redskins favoured by about 3 or 4.

pauldrulez 13-11-2008 09:23 PM

The Romo effect I guess.

I think I went with the Redskins. But I actually cant remember.

Either way its a coin flip IMHO.

Strathclyde Eagle 13-11-2008 09:30 PM

I went with the Redskins.

I do think the Ravens beat the Giants this week. Eli always has one stinker a year and with the Ravens D this is a good candidate to be that week.

pauldrulez 13-11-2008 09:59 PM

I think they will struggle to run it against that D, even with the powerhouse that is Jacobs as well as Ward and Bradshaw when he has been used.

I think Boss will play a big part in the game at TE for the Giants as will Toomer as I can see Burress struggling.

jlmatthews 14-11-2008 05:47 AM

At least you saw a good game Saxon.

Cassel throws for 400 and they still lose. Paul, you must be furious :p

davematt 14-11-2008 06:22 AM

Was a great game.

Cassel's play for that Randy Moss TD was excellent.

Pats done great to comeback but Jets held their nerve in OT.

nookiebear 14-11-2008 10:56 AM

I think the Cowboys will edge Sunday now. No Portis or Betts for the Skins :(

Oops :)

Just read the report. Looks like a quality game. Will try and watch it tonight as Sky+ it. Actually thinking about it, as it went into OT I may not have all the action ...

Seems like you saw a great match Sax, shame your side took the beating. Fair play though.

Is Paul missing in action today? ;)

I'm not holding out on that one. What about the players coming in, they will have something to prove. Just hope that the Romo effect has just that, an effect. A welcome return to the passing game which has been distinctly missing in the last three matches.

Going to do my best to avoid this thread all day on Monday with the intention of watching the game on Monday evening. :p

jlmatthews 14-11-2008 03:19 PM

I'm worried about Paul. This loss has probably hit him REALLY hard. Being against the Jets and all that.

Strathclyde Eagle 14-11-2008 03:46 PM

Cue overly-long and serious answer about he was at college/work and couldn't be on here, etc.

saxoneagle 14-11-2008 03:57 PM

I've just got back to NY after about 3 hours sleep (possibly less).

It was a great game spoilt only by the result and the Jets fan who spat on the back of my head.

I don't have time or inclination to write anything at this moment but I shall when I get back to Bermuda on Sunday :)

Strathclyde Eagle 14-11-2008 04:14 PM

A Jets fan did that, in Foxborough? Was he drunk, or just very, very brave?

Abhorrent, stupid thing to do. Glad you enjoyed yourself in spite of the result.
