Proof I too often post with my heart than my head. :)

And in fairness that was pre-wildcat and just after giving up some ridiculous number to the Cardinals.

Apologies to sLIII then, I did put a Question mark.

And proof of my excellence.

Michael Lombardi, a former NFL executive with several teams, reported on this week's edition of Showtime's "Inside the NFL" the New England Patriots will put the franchise tag on Matt Cassel to prevent him from becoming a free agent
The article isn't 100% clear on the situation, but its almost a guarantee based on that.

Schedule for the rest of the NFL awards.

MVP announced tomorrow. Who is your pick for that?

Coach of the Year on Sunday. I would say Jeff Fisher or Belichick. As I don't think its really down to Sparano that the Dolphins turned around, more down to the Tuna. And the Baltimore coach(Harbaugh?) would rival Sparano anyway.

And then Monday and Tuesday are the Offensive and Defensive awards. I would give mine to Drew Brees and James Harrison here although there are a lot of candidates that are in with a chance. But not Favre... (waits for backlash)

The following Saturday is the announcement of the all-pro team and I think the most crucial position to look at is Outside Linebacker.
Pick 2: Ware, Harrison, Porter.

Lots of awards and playoffs as well as mindless speculation to come over the next few months. I'm enjoying no Pats in the playoffs as it equals no worrying although I feel bad for Cassel as he really deserved something this year. Whether Pro-bowl or play-offs.

Not really shocked by Matt Light's number.

He had 5 sacks in the first 2 games before they went to work on Kaczur for a couple of weeks.

I'll respectfully disagree re Sparano, but the PTI guys always tout Mike Smith in Atlanta.

On the other hand, I liked Will Leitch's comparison of Mike Smiths last week. And he did it without mentioning Sarah Greene's husband or Ghostwatch. Probably just as well actually.

pauldrulez 02-01-2009 01:40 AM

I think that because Atlanta won 4 games last year, a lot are discounting Atlantas coaching staff from awards. Pretty stupid really since they picked at 3 in the draft anyway.

Sparano has a big chance, but it may just be me thinking that about Parcells but ah well.

Strathclyde Eagle 02-01-2009 12:12 PM

Maroon and black end zones at Dolphin Stadium last night. They'll have to be painted for Sunday. :lux:

Field looked great actually. I can't wait until we finally kick the Marlins out.

pauldrulez 02-01-2009 01:06 PM

I'd laugh if they kept them the same ;)

Thanks fella, interesting read. Little mention of why Romo collapsed in the shower .. I thought they all took one for the team on the pitch so no need for it to carry on in the locker room ... ;) :D

jazman 02-01-2009 01:13 PM

Saw Total Access last night with highlights of a college game betwn WCM and Rice, am I right there? Was very impressed with Rice and their offensive plays .. tasty QB ...

pauldrulez 02-01-2009 01:38 PM

I like the way that in one story about Romo it said "one player said it was a shock when he collapsed next to me".

A shock. Well, if a naked Quarterback collapses next to me in the future, i'll become shocked since I was obviously expecting it to happen :D

jazman 02-01-2009 02:03 PM

It is a worry how the players acted or didn't act so much after that shocking defeat .. somehow proves what kind of players we have on the roster sadly ..

Looking forward to this weekends matches though ... Kind of wanting Miami and Atlanta to make it through their wild card games ...

Cuckoo.

pauldrulez 02-01-2009 02:33 PM

I'll wait until Parcells leaves to make that judgment since I have been wrong on everything else I have said...

Benzhiyi 02-01-2009 05:54 PM

Parcells doesn't even travel with the team to road games and he has no involvement at all once the team steps out onto the field either home or away, where they've won 11 times under Sparano and Henning's guidance. Saying it's all down to BP does both those men, in particular Sparano, a great disservice.

Of course Parcells has been a key addition to our organisation, and he'd be a huge loss. But to suggest he alone is responsible for us going 11-5 is utterly laughable.
