He has ability which is why he beat Goots out in the backup race. I hope the new offense show the NFL the new way of winning.

You've spent the last five weeks COMPLETELY laying into Matt Cassel and now you post this...

Let's not beat around the bush - we've gone from having one of the top 3 QBs in the league to one of the bottom 3.

That's how I see it.

saxoneagle 08-09-2008 01:40 PM

Oh, and I'm not going to judge Moss' effort on the back of an 0-4 pre-season.

Yes but in Pre-Season the OL looked shit, the receivers looked average and the Defense were awful at stopping the run.

Yesterday they stopped the run. The receivers were average to begin with after a fumble each for Welker and Moss, but both improved as the game went on. And the OL actually allowed Cassel some time which meant that he improved as the game went on and actually showed some class. In all honesty its a team game and There is no Tom in Team.(just)

He is talking on the radio and he said that he woke up yesterday hoping to have a few plays at the end if we were walking the game but he said it was different for him and had he gone down on a bad injury from a sack we would have been stuffed due to O'Connell being one of the 8 inactive players on the day. He also says that should someone come in from the street, it is a complex playbook to learn, one of the hardest in the league and that it would be hard to come up to scratch before the Jets game.

I think as I said earlier(well at about 4am), your the Patriots realist and I just want to believe that we are ok whatever happens.

Cassel isnt sure about the true extent of TBs injury but said if it was as bad as was said, then why would he walk off possibly inflaming the injury

pauldrulez 08-09-2008 01:54 PM

And not judging effort on preseason is right, but considering he is the best WR and one of the best players in the NFL, why was he traded for a 4th rounder? in 06?

Exactly. Go back and read some of your posts from pre-season and maybe heed some of your own advice!!! :o ;)

Oh, and when I broke my hand, I carried on skiing for the rest of the day. It hurt but sometimes you don't realise the full extent of the damage until someone professional looks at it (for the record, having the bones re-broken because they had set out of line was much more painful :D)

pauldrulez 08-09-2008 01:59 PM

I like to call him Mr. Interception. But now I call him Mr. Touchdown.

You heard it here first, before I am taken off by a psychiatrist.

The Superbowl XLIII MVP will be Matt Cassell, Quarterback, New England Patriots.

Put that in your signatures.

pauldrulez 08-09-2008 02:06 PM

Ooh, One final thing.

Tom Brady has not had an MRI done yet, no matter what is said. Cassel has said it, The presenters are saying it, the QB coach has also said it on the radio. So lets wait and see.

My prediction remains the same only if TB is out.

saxoneagle 08-09-2008 02:16 PM

Paul - you should shut up now.

pauldrulez 08-09-2008 02:19 PM

No, I'll stick with that prediction. If he is out for the season, I'm getting a Cassel shirt to go with my new Mayo one.

Benzhiyi 08-09-2008 02:51 PM

Brady blog done.

In my sig, if I haven't whored it enough yet. :o

Be careful or your blog will turn into an anti-Patriots rant each week. Otherwise, another good read.

Maybe you should comment on some other incidents over the weekend, and maybe your team as well... JAT ;)

Questionable attitude. Considered a bad apple in Oakland, which is why they were happy to be rid of him.

The cynics will say it is easier to have a better attitude when you've got Tom Brady throwing to you. Personally I don't think the New England staff will put up with any tantrums, so I'd expect him to still be a threat this year.

If I were the Jets DC I'd be tempted to stack the box on Sunday and dare the Pats to pass, just to see how Cassel copes. Get in his face early and test his mettle.

First Peter King column of the new season is up:

(Really wish they didn't put it into pages, one of my pet internet hates.)

RDSdaEAGLE 08-09-2008 03:24 PM

Paul, you're taking flip-flopping to new extremes. If you were a Democrat running for the presidency, the Republicans would have completely destroyed you by now :D

Strathclyde Eagle 08-09-2008 03:33 PM

I want to be a K-ball co-ordinator.

Preferrably in Mia, er, San Diego.

jazman 08-09-2008 03:46 PM

Paul, do you want ketchup with your Brady shirt at the end of the season? :D

Strathclyde Eagle 08-09-2008 03:59 PM

Think I've found the direct link to Paul's post if anyone would it to add to their signatures. I might join you, just for comedy's sake. :D
