It looked like a broken leg?

How many times do you see someone with a broken leg having themselves lifted onto the cart by trainers? If he'd broken his leg, surely they'd have strapped him up first? Looked more like more muscle/ligament trouble to me...

After week 17 matters Paul :hi:

pauldrulez 21-10-2008 12:52 PM

It was 3.30 in the morning, at least grant me that as all I could remember was him on the floor with his leg bent.

But I just watched it again on Sky+, and it looked like a blown out knee. Bruschis reaction was the most telling especially when he went back over to Vrabel as well.

I hope he plays again, not from a Patriots perspective as I think we would be fine with the Sanders-Merriweather combo, but because he should go out on the field not on a cart.

Pretty bizarre all this Kellen Winslow stuff. I've never heard of 'staph' before although I would guess it's known by something else in the UK ...

jazman 21-10-2008 12:57 PM

That was one hell of a sandwich that Tampa's Ike Hillard got caught up in ...

pauldrulez 21-10-2008 12:58 PM

Its weird, but its like they are trying to anger Winslow, its not his fault he is infected.

I have heard of staph and know its an infection, but I am not sure exactly what it does. As Jaz says, anyone else know if it is known as anything else over here?

jazman 21-10-2008 01:00 PM

Saw his interview last night where he wouldn't reveal what the problem was and the Crennel comes out to today apparantley angered by his comments and may discipline him. What's all that about?

jazman 21-10-2008 01:03 PM

I also see last night that they are working very hard on the Wembley turf to ensure it doesn't cut up like it did last year. I did think the worst when walking home in the pissing rain last night after some fairly decent weather recently. So looking forward to the game ...

A good fantasy shout this week is Deuce McAllister in the absence of Reggie Bush for the Saints.

Called the same thing in the UK as far as I'm aware...

There goes my note to myself this morning of, "Ask on the NFL thread what a staph infection is. I suspect no-one is talking about it yet."

I thought it had something to do with the knee issues Winslow had after his motorcycle crash a few years ago, but seemingly there is a bit of an issue with it in Cleveland and other players there as well. It has got to a point where the players' union are supposedly talking about it.

(Guess which paragraph was sitting in notepad waiting for about two hours until I got a minute to post?)

pauldrulez 21-10-2008 03:15 PM

The 3rd one? ;)

Useful link. Must admit I couldn't stomach reading as far as page 2.

saxoneagle 21-10-2008 03:34 PM

I've heard of it because both my parents have been hospitalised due to variants of staph... my dad through diabetes and my mum when she had cancer.

Please tell me if im missing something here... there is nothing wrong with this purchase is there???!

saxoneagle 21-10-2008 03:36 PM

Ask for a picture of the tickets!

LLCOOLSTEVE 21-10-2008 03:40 PM

There is a picture of the confirmation, I have paid by Credit card, and ebay are good at refunding and stuff these days :)

We'll see, have emailed the seller

saxoneagle 21-10-2008 03:46 PM

True. With tickets on Ebay, I always ask for a picture of them.

Often they say they "haven't arrived yet", in which case, I don't buy them :)

Swanny32 21-10-2008 04:09 PM

Sorry guys don't mean to hijack the thread but anyone know if they'll be selling jerseys on Sunday? Got tickets for the game so rather than stump up cash for a shirt on Ebay might be able to pick one up there.

Elliot i have dropped you a PM with the shirt i am considering purchasing.

jazman 21-10-2008 04:44 PM

One of the guys I'm going with went last year so I've just asked him. He said that all he can recall is a few bits a pieces like hats and stuff. Cannot recall any jerseys on sale though as he was looking for a Bears one.

Possibly, but only if you get there REAL early. Everything sold out long before kick off last year. It was a joke, basically.
