Cowards.

The same thing happened to my wife when she was promised a promotion, but they gambled because they needed her.

My biz had just taken off, so I said to her, Quit, WTF... So she did, and the turnaround was unbelievable by them.

She told them she could not stay and work for people she could not trust or respect.

She enjoyed that day.

I hope it works out, Joe.

My doughnut of a wife leaving her keys in the inside lock of our porch door for the 3rd time in about a month. So when I came home and tried to unlock the door it put the 2 barrels out of line and it wouldn't lock or let you remove the key!

Luckily there was a great tutorial on YouTube and after 11/2 hours of buggering about I got it working again, as the barrel I wanted wasn't in stock.I expect to be repairing it again very soon.[emoji2959]

I can take not getting a job. Even I thought it was earlier than I’d like. But to appoint a new hire, and not even interviewing me to the same level just shows a lack of respect. The “Senior” who did it is one of those types that sits in on LinkedIn all day quoting Steven Bartlett and pontificating about how to treat employees.

Crap tv programmes hosted by married couples.Bad enough listening to so called celebrities talking about their lives without couples going on about it.The latest being Chris Ramsey and his wife( who is??) hosting their own show with Martin Kemp and his wife getting the audience to applaud them as they have been together for 40 years.

I wish the BBC would show advertising so we dont have to pay for this crap any more.

Just! To sunny Abbey Wood.

I suppose if it opened on time and budget it would have been down the list but with its massive time and cost overrun and first train near Liz's Jubbly it's top billing.

More worrying that people were queuing up before the station opened to be the first people on the train. 2 women on the news thought the queue was too long as got a cab to another station down the line to join it there.

Oh I don't know it serves that upcoming area called Thamesmead! Strangely there have been many plans to serve Thamesmead itself by tube or train but none have come off.

No sure where i would have had terminate on the south side probably Ebbsfleet but running new wires over 3rd rail would be expensive.

Always this...

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/61484659

This kind of bollox only applies to Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and Spurs. To my knowledge they haven't done it for any other clubs. Perhaps Newcastle next season.

The BBC are not only sucking Liverpool's cocks, but offering themselves up for spit roasts and giving hand jobs.

PeterH 25-05-2022 12:19 AM

Oh and I guess they added Lawrenson and Carragher to the list for fear of tears at bedtime.

Blind_Eagle 25-05-2022 01:38 AM

Twice now, on two different recent news stories, the BBC have described birds as having been born.

No they haven’t, they’ve been hatched. Birds aren’t born ffs.

And to boil my piss even further, last week they defined a Guinea as ‘about £1.05’

Does the subtlety of the English language not matter any more?

Sharkba1t 25-05-2022 11:55 AM

Another thing (there are lots) that annoy me about BBC sports reports - the day after the FA cup final, the reporter referred to the game being played "last night"...it wasn't played last night - it was the late afternoon. Fking moron.

What was the name of the pub that they filmed some of The Firm in?

Nth Kent Eagle 25-05-2022 07:09 PM

Not sure about the Firm but it was in the Guvnors which is set in Thamesmead and involves a row between the former ageing football hoolies on the estate and the new generation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Guvnors

I saw it recently on either Netflix or Amazon (I cannot remember which).

As CT will confirm, many of you would lose your shit with annoying things here in Chile.

I guess we refrain from posting them due to your lack of reference, but I can add a few examples.

The News - this is a source of many. It is acceptable behaviour here to use the news programmes to advertise the channels upcoming crap programmes. It is also the thing to advertise a commercial as actual news like worklife being a big advert for Santander or Future Technology all being about Samsung products. Alñl this in addition to adverts throughout shows, product placements, tickers screens, graphics, and presenters standing there with a bottle of pisco in the hand.

The News - every segment that is related to the economy, cost of living, pensions and salaries is accompanied by images of people counting out wads of notes. As in, they have a segment discussing the inflation cost of basic items and how it is killing the poor - and they accompany it with an image of someone counting out several hundred pounds worth of large bills - 'this is what you could have won'.

TV in general - it is a different level of crap. Recently they have outdone themselves. They now have scratch cards linked to popular shows. Are they really that desparate for more cash.

Supersonic 25-05-2022 08:23 PM

I work as a retail manager, some of the daft "complaints" you get are incredible.

Customer: I'd like to make a complaint.

Me: Okay, what about?

Customer: One of your staff was very rude and ignored me.

Me: Who?

Customer: [name of member of staff]

Me: Oh, she's deaf, just wouldn't have heard you, definitely wouldn't have been deliberately rude.

Customer: Well she doesn't look deaf, are you sure?

Me: Yep, definitely deaf.

Customer: Well why is she working here then?

a much redacted version that included several minutes of me persuading this customer that the member of staff is definitely definitely deaf ... but my god some people!!

ozzieEagle 26-05-2022 02:45 AM

Finally found something to get really pissed off about...

Having to replace my 3-year-old Huawei p30 pro, as it has a faulty motherboard from being dropped to much. You would think in 3 years that a mid-range Samsung in the S21 FE would at least be it's equal. It's nowhere bloody near. I should have bought another 2nd hand p30 pro. Issues with the Samsung... The camera is infinitely better on the p30 pro... the storage, the battery life, the response times. 3 years and they still haven't caught up...

F....ing hell.... talk about wasting my bloody money. The only thing the Samsung has better is the screen brightness.

No wonder Trump banned them.

As I mentioned to you the other day, I have ditched regular tv completely. I just cant be doing with it. Internet for the news and all other entertainment is streaming channels of one sort or another. Other than YT which a refuse to pay for ... but may get ground down on that too, I have an ad free tv experience.

One thing I will say though, the cable tv here is much cheaper than Sky - I saw on another thread over 100 quid a month :eek: and that's for channels full of ads. I guess everyone just sucks it up, but it does surprise me not to see that monthly bill annoying more punters on this thread.

As I get older I am becoming like Victor Meldrew. People just annoy me. For example..

People who stop to chat in the middle of the pavement or a supermarket aisle meaning I have to walk around them

People who walk around not looking where they are going as they are looking at their phone so I have to move out of their way to avoid walking into them. This happens at Palace a lot in the concourse or leaving the ground when they slow down to text.

Drivers not indicating at a junction or roundabout.

People talking loudly on their phones on a train. They always start by saying "I'm on the train". Don't I ******* know it the whole train can hear you!

Plenty more I could add. I need to go and live on a desert island somewhere

Drivers not indicating at a junction or roundabout.

People talking loudly on their phones on a train. They always start by saying "I'm on the train". Don't I ******* know it the whole train can hear you!

Plenty more I could add. I need to go and live on a desert island somewhere

I don't think it's getting older, I think we're increasingly surrounded by self-centred ****wits and exhibitionists who aren't taught basic manners by their parents.

Agree but I think getting older makes tolerance levels smaller

Probably why I feel a violent rage every time I hear a certain phone advert on the radio (O2 I think), in which some stupid lady shouts 'laters bye' at the top of her voice. If it's followed by the pathetic NatWest advert with Alison Hammond I might spontaneously combust. Why is it everything is so dumbed down these days?

Selling a car (my old campervan) privately for the first time.... getting right peed off with the ludicrous responses now. Actually lost sleep over one cantankerous dealing at the last failed hurdle yesterday.

Sharkba1t 31-05-2022 07:37 AM

The amount of dogshit on the pavement and in parks these days. I know most owners are fine and clear up after their dogs but there are quite a few who don’t. Seems worse since the pandemic, I guess more people have dogs now.

It’s usually the arse holes that take their dog out in the dark when less people are about to see them and also the one’s that have their dog off lead and walk about 50 yards in front of the dog so they don’t have to look when the dog is crapping,
I’ve even see two idiots walk their dogs while on mobility scooters the poor dog has to trot everywhere and I’ve even seen it poop whilst running to keep up

Agree that the amount of dog turds everywhere is annoying. I'm a bit sick of telling the kids "look out for dog turds!" when they're running around a park, it should be a clean space for everyone, not a convenient toilet for selfish dog owners.

What about the twats who pick up the turds and then hang the bag on a convenient tree branch or chuck it in the bush by the side of my house. Like someone said, they probably do it in the dark so that no-one has a pop at them. Selfish twats.

Exactly this. In my local park you often see poo bags hanging on the fence for the basketball court or the shrubs nearby. Scummers.

Not the movie thread (granted) but try Cypher 2002, 20 years pre meldrew date, for some lovely Liu

Caught 10 mins of Sky news earlier….the fawning folk in the crowd that are interviewed….you actually can’t believe people like that exist. Got to be (crisis) actors surely?

Plenty of people read and believe the Daily Mail. After all this is a country that voted for Brexit and an 80 seat majority for Boris Johnson.

Some people look at us and cannot believe the obsessive fawning, hero-worship, the racism, homophobia, hatred of others and the violence that goes along with supporting a bunch of blokes kicking a ball around.

England are playing a team where their crowd love to make racist gestures to our players...

These people are having a good time celebrating and excitedly caught up in the day, saying nice things about the Queen. Being happy and part of these celebrations seems relatively harmless, don't they?

It is nice these people are having a lovely time.

Any criticism of the monarchy is elitist metropolitan war on the working class, nowadays.

As I have a dodgy knee I am having to use the buses more and I cannot understand why dickheads put there shopping on the seat and STAND at the front of the shelter completely blocking peoples view of the buses :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

Microsoft.

How many times do I have to say I DO NOT want to 'upgrade' to Windows 11. Why do I have confirm this choice only for you to say, "OK Maybe later". No, not later. Just no. It is my final answer.

And I do not have any more devices 'to complete my set-up'. How many times do you need telliing??

Why can't I just decline once and for all?

Just PISS OFF!!!!

Isle of Wight 04-06-2022 08:45 PM

Too many people are dickheads?

You need to hobble a bit more and look helpless. I have perfected this over the years. Most people now let me on first and the bus drivers even lower the platform for me :D. Just make a couple of failed attempts to get on first. Usually people move out of the priority seats for me now.

Bizarro 05-06-2022 01:04 AM

I'm going to sound like a **** now but, I looked after a kid who's mum was having kemo. He's subsequently been vandalising my property and assaulting my son. If his mum had died none of this shit would have happened and he'd be be living with his dad who would kept him under control.
I feel bad about posting this, but **** it rant over.

I am getting there on something similar. I have a struggle with stairs and even more with escalators. Especially ones without a run in before the step appears. Been helped to a lift for disabled now a few times. Hell i am feeling old. Disabled lifts though are so slow........

Steps are my nemesis at the moment. I can probably make most (except tube ones) but am in a state after using them so often use the lift if available. I'm getting used to the funny looks a visually fit bloke gets when using the lift at stations etc. I am also a bit inclined now to give up my bus seat to all but the most needy despite no apparent disabilities.

You dont sound like a **** at all. You sound like a good person helping out a sick woman. Feel for the kid but his behaviour is unacceptable.

The hidden disability issue you do get looks. I am probably to blame in some way i try very hard to avoid showing anything. Unless absolutely necessary i dont use a walking stick. If I am struggling romantically link arms with the wife. I very rarely drive which is evidenced in the lack of miles since the last service. Great on saving money i top the car up once a month moaning about the rise in petrol prices month on month. The wife does virtually all the driving now. Chances are it will be all in the next few months. I could get a Blue Badge but keep avoiding it. Its like giving in.

A few years back my GP asked if I wanted to be registered disabled due to my hearing issues and refused it point blank as didn't want to a burden. I would probably think the same if I got physically worse some other way.

That’s because as we get older a normal lift becomes the equivalent of a funfair ride with old folk joy riding for free. ;)

As a dog owner I can only think it’s a forgetting thing. I mean why would you go to the trouble of having a bag picking up and then hanging out the way. Maybe they don’t want to carry it around and expect to pick up on the way back.

Worse I followed a car with one on its back windscreen wiper the other day. Every corner and round about my heart was in my mouth !
