That last second Fins loss was the most deflating piece of sport I've seen this year. (Mainly because I haven't made it to Selhurst much.)

Will we ever win again?

On the plus side, Samson Satele is going to develop into some player. :)

Ben, didn't you see the Raiders game? That was far, far worse in my opinion. The only thing that was worse about last night is that we looked capable of winning it.

Benzhiyi 08-10-2007 02:50 PM

Yes, the Raiders game was awful, but I fully expected us to lose from half-time onwards.

For the entire Texans game I was sure we'd win it until Cam opted not to kick the 56-yarder. So it was deflating in the sense that I went from optimistic to shattered in about two minutes.

Thankfully the Sox won in Anaheim to prevent my Sunday sports viewing from being a total write-off.

Strathclyde Eagle 08-10-2007 06:58 PM

I was worried we wouldn't win when lining up the 56 yarder. I thought a miss there with slightly less than two minutes on the clock gave them terrific field position. Therefore I was glad we took the time-out and pinned them back with a great punt.

Defence's fault letting them drive 60+ yards in what was effectively less than a minute.

D'oh, I've won tailgate tickets for Wembley. :clown:

Right now I couldn't care less about these - want the actual game tickets instead! Will swap for wherever all the Palace fans are meeting up beforehand.

Funny you should put it like that. I keep getting bombarded with e-mails and offers to win tickets for this but it sounds a bit :moo: .

Why do you say this? Do you know that it'll be pants? Is it a bit cheesy?

Grim Reaper 08-10-2007 08:09 PM

Jets have scored 4 95+ yard kick returns in the last 17 games......yet managed to lose three of those games in which we scored.

Any idea which of the four games we won, Tony????

Benzhiyi 08-10-2007 08:38 PM

I applied for tailgate tickets but I imagine it'll feel artificial, particularly as Nookie and I experienced the real thing (and it was incredible) on opening day.

What is the plan for the big day, by the way?

My main problem is that ticket holders are encouraged to be there at midday. The Mrs and I can't check into our hotel until 2pm. :clown:

Plus I don't think there will be freebies there, it's a chance for the NFL to coin it in. Massive mark-ups on burgers, hot-dogs and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). I'd sooner meet up with people I know (Mr. C and yourself, for two) and those I'd like to meet (BenZhiyi, Blue Boy and everyone else on this thread), grab something cheaper to drink and pick up a sub on the way.

I'm prepared to go anywhere within reason to meet up if others would like to. While I've got an affinity for the Duke of York for Wembley trips it has been ten years since I've been there, so wouldn't complain if people don't think that's a good idea.

On current form at least I won't look stupid in my Ronnie Brown jersey.

Erm, week 3, this year?

BTW, weird deal with kick returns yesterday. Guys bringing it back from way back in the end zone and getting well over the 30. Does no-one coach special teams any more apart from San Diego?

Strathclyde Eagle 08-10-2007 09:35 PM

Now that Jake Delhomme is out for the season the Panthers are stuck with their new quarterback, Michael Jackson.

At least your jersey is for a player still in action.

Only got my Tiki Barber one last year and the bu gger retired less than a year later.

Wouldn't mind a Shockey or Jacobs white away one. Anyone know a website BASED IN THIS COUNTRY that sells NFL gear. I've used Kitbag in the past but their range is limited.

Strathclyde Eagle 08-10-2007 11:00 PM

Cris, check PMs.

jlmatthews 09-10-2007 08:39 AM

Best game of the season so far tonight. Cowboys had absolutely no business being anywhere near winning that game.

Benzhiyi 09-10-2007 09:30 AM

Try the NASN site, Cris. I think they import stuff but only charge you the UK P&P price.

Watched the Cowboys - Bills game on Sky Plus this morning, as JLM says it was the game of the season so far. Jammy, jammy Dallas. Tony Romo-Grossman really got out of jail thanks to Nick Folk. Felt really sorry for Trent Edwards; he made one mistake the whole game, and that was an interception that stopped the Bills going 27-14 up with a couple of minutes left.

Benzhiyi 09-10-2007 01:33 PM

Mack Strong's retired through injury, with immediate effect. Always considered him to be one of the game's elite full backs - he had a key role in Shaun Alexander's career year in 2005. Sad to see him have to quit mid-season.

Chester 09-10-2007 01:42 PM

Agree with JLM, one of the most ridiculous games last night.

Dallas looked like they had swapped Romo for Grossman last night. Some of his interceptions were shocking.

Owens showed himself to be the turd he is at the end as well throwing his toys out of the pram when he couldnt catch for Toffee.

Great game for the neutral, unlucky Buffalo

nookiebear 09-10-2007 02:16 PM

Mine and Ben Zhiyi's tickets for Wembley have arrived :)

I'll be cheering the Fish that day :)

This is very bad news for my Seahawks, with S Alexander falling over fresh air and now losing his best blocker the run game is totaly screwed.

Mack Strong was a great player, he played with a lot of heart and defied many odds being a UDFA signed back in 1993.

Benzhiyi 09-10-2007 03:30 PM

Is Leonard Weaver any good? Only ever had fleeting glimpses of him.
