My bank website is being particularly annoying lately.
First after entering your password you have to hit the "sign in" tab rather than just hitting "enter" on the keyboard. Then the first thing you get upon entering is an ad for either obtaining a loan or getting a new credit card... I always hit "No thanks", but it always comes up next time I log in. Also tried "remind me later", but doesn't seem to help. Lastly (for now) the whole experience appears bogged down by security and double checking. I appreciate their concern, but I suspect hackers would just laugh at all this. The moving between screens or actions grinds along. I've turned off the requirement to get an authorization code sent to my phone which was a pain, but now it still asks me periodically to provide my ZIP code and my date of birth to "authenticate" I am who I say I am. |
Hackers don't laugh, they just target the people that turned off the auth code :) and spend most of their time investing other people s money.

Thames water havent billed me for 3 YEARS for no apparent reason, then this week sent me a massive bill for £2200.
Part of me thinks its my fault for not realising that no payments have been requested for ages, but on the other hand why should I chase for payments to them! |

This ones for Maidstoned Eagle...
Firefox is my browser of choice. This morning it all locked up, Chrome was working just fine. It seemed the best Google advice was to uninstall Firefox and then re-install, which I did. Got into all sorts of binds which I attributed to my antivirus software (which I ended up turning off). Finally got it back, but it had wiped out all my bookmarks and settings, which I got back from a folder that when uninstalling it created for a place holder for the settings. Just spent too much time resetting all my usernames and passwords where needed. Biggest disappointment - and this is for you ME... is I have lost all my Wordle history/stats for the last 3 months or so. I least I didn't loose my Beatles tracks from iTunes! |
Going to the gym and realising you have'nt charged your ear buds and having to listen to the crap music they play. If I want to go clubbing I will knock 45 years off my age and lie at the door. Most of it is shit remixes of what I listened to when I did go clubbing (or disco as was then.
Blimey two posts on this thread in a week , am I close to taking over from HH ? |

Point of order... Most of my help are not Mexican, but from South of the Border, be that Guatemala, Columbia or El Salvador to name a few.
I know very few people that are actually from Mexico, and those that I do are doing rather well for themselves here. |

As an aside, is it true that the Spanish dubbing of Fawlty Towers had Manuel being from Mexico? And while looking that up on Wiki, I learnt that Andrew Sachs was actually born in Germany... something for the "Things I've learnt Today" thread. Edit: Manuel was dubbed as Italian in Spain, not Mexican and called Paolo. |

The waste associated with Covid-19 test kits must be phenomenal based on our experiences. We still have 4 boxes all rendered useless as they haven''t contained phials of the liquid agent needed for the test.

I wonder if they really expire? But certainly would put into doubt the result they gave you for a test, so will be throwing them out. |

If I'm being honest, I should put that in the "Things I have Learnt Today" thread. I didn't realize the country was spelt like that. |

I've had a bad reaction to the Pfizer booster, which is ironic as it's the 1st time I didn't feel the jab at all.
I just had a temperature and pins and needles on the day. However, for 2 weeks+ I had a painful dull ache in the muscle, which was worse at night preventing me from sleeping. Thankfully that has lessened but I now have pins and needles shooting down my arm when I'm resting it and my thumb goes to sleep! I can only assume they may have hit a nerve, but I bloody hope it's not permanent. Needless to say I'm not chancing the flu jab. |
I’m in for the double jab on Wednesday.

Really? I did the double last year as well, no problems. It's what they're doing in Madrid this year - mind you our public health system is in crisis.

Even in deepest darkest Dorset it's been smashing. A few weeks ago I had trouble walking due to being bone idle/having a red & swollen & immovable big toe. I rang the GPs on the Thursday evening and even though they hadn't yet completed my registration I got a call back the next morning offering me an appointment on Tuesday. The next day I had blood tests and BP and as they was a bit high due to me being stressed as a bastard I came in on Thursday for a double-check and all was fine. I've also had my OAP/physically infirm Covid booster but am a few years off being eligible for the flu jab. Back on topic - Geoff Lemon. |
So you could walk to your FREE appointment, then?
I am also not elegible for the flu jab, and neither are my children, but they give it to you if you ask for it (and COVID likewise), as long as you have a good reason. |
Yes I could (with CRUTCHES) as I'd been gout-ridden for four weeks and was finally on the mend by said Tuesday, Captain Prurience.
Are over-60s not eligible for influenza jabs in Madrid? |
Ooh, you cheeky little thing!
Long way off for me, and my children. |
I had the double jab a little while ago. Didn't annoy me at all.
