I've put more thought into my 4th Mock draft but it still doesnt look right to me in places.

The hardest one to fit in is McFadden because however much I wanted to give him to the Raiders I couldnt. Same with Ryan who I gave to the Falcons this time but havent in past drafts.

Bar the top few in the draft, I don't watch enough college football to do a draft, even a first round.

I know most NFL teams needs and can put a position I think they'll draft but other than that I'm no use :D

I'm still sticking with McFadden to Oakland though :D

I've started to quite enjoy college football, but there are so many teams and players that you still get names popping up that you've never heard of before.

Yup, same for me. I am useless with names and would struggle to put a top 10 together let alone an entire mock draft!

I love watching the games but invariably here we only get the bigger games so I could tell you everything you wanted to know about Tim Tebow but very little about a player out of Troy...

No matter how much you watch you still get the big games covered. If a good player is buried on a bad team then it's easy to miss them. I'll admit that I saw very little of Calvin Johnson before the Lions drafted him out of Georgia Tech last year, and for a lot of journos he was the most talented player available.

The funny thing for me is the way players move around in projected mocks around this time of year. What else can players do other than show indications about attitude or a willingness to sign? It's daft.

I'm slightly curious to see where Colt Brennan is drafted. He may have been a borderline first round pick before Georgia took the Hawaii offence apart in the Sugar Bowl. I wonder if someone will think that was a one-off and take a chance on him in the second round.

I have to be honest that I dont know a huge amount about College Football. But I am going to get into it a lot more next year. I have heard of probably 23/24 out of the 31 in the 1st round.

You don't get the coverage over here in the UK, as far as I know that is ... so that proves difficult ... I think the interest would be more than they think to be honest if they did decide to cover it here ...

While we're on the subject,does anyone know how long it has been since someone like McKelvin has been drawn from a low ranked college(Troy) and has gone so high in the first round.

Demarcus Ware of Troy came out at 11 in 2005.

North Carolina State aren't exactly world beaters at college level and Mario Williams was taking as #1 pick 2 years ago by Houston ahead of Bush, Young, Leinart, Hawk, D'Brickashaw, Cromartie, Cutler (who came from Vandy, another lesser football team).

DeMarcus Ware came from Troy in 2005 as 11th pick to the Cowgirls.

In 2007 (Griffin, Ross), 2006 (Young, Huff), 2005 (Benson, Johnson) and 2004 (Williams, Tubbs), Texas had two players chosen in the first round.

This year, Sweed should make the top 31 but any others?

And how many colleges have that kind of draft record?

NASN - College Gameday is the best show on TV (although that's probably upset PFIA again, sorry).
The University of Miami (I think one year they had six in the first round), USC in recent years, Oklahoma, Notre Dame. Plenty with records as good or better than Texas. Nearly forgot Ohio State (cue JLM with Ted Ginn taunts again!).

Also heard that the Fins are negotiating with Gholston incase a deal with Jake Long falls through.

Which makes this news more surprising on Patriots.com. They have researched through many different media agencies to do their own mock draft. Considering I ound the news about Gholston-Fins on that website then it is surprising.

Watching NFL total access and they refer to Matt Ryan as being a "Franchise" quarterback.

Being relatively new to watching NFL, what does this mean? I am assuming that franchise means that he is good enough to be a long term first choice for the particular team?

Yep, that's basically it. You want a guy who can step into the role in year 2 or maybe earlier and be there for a fair few years, like Eli, Peyton, and the like.

I'm not sure he is a franchise QB but he'll be seen by some teams in the top 10 as being the solution.

I think the Falcons might take him but with the guaranteed money they are losing on Vick they can't afford too much. I was speaking to a Falcons fan last night who hopes Vick comes back after prison and takes over the QB job again...!
