6 teams from each conference in play offs, 4 division winners and 2 wild cards, WC's are 2 teams with best records other than division winners.

no.

nothing, just two leagues that formed one.

pauldrulez 03-10-2010 10:21 PM

Ouch.

jazman 03-10-2010 10:21 PM

1-0 to McNabb then :)

SteveyHawking 03-10-2010 10:21 PM

You only play your own divisional opponents twice, the fixture list and how it works is still quite a mystery to me ... it's simpe that teams could not play everyone twice so they have a format for chosing who plays who each year ... i.e. normally by division ...

Conferences what Ardeo said ...

I hope that makes sense ... :)

Scheduling is easy, innit

6 games (3 home, 3 away) against divisional rivals
4 games (2 home, 2 away) against a conference division
2 games (1 home, 1 away) against the teams in conference who finished same as you last season (if you are 1, you play other first placed teams)
4 games (2 home, 2 away) against a non-conference division (and same "geog" as the conf so if you play NFC West, you'd also play AFC West)

6+4+2+4 = 16 :p

pauldrulez 03-10-2010 10:24 PM

What a hit.

Yes.

The AFC is borne out of the AFL (a rival league). The champions of each played each other towards the end of the 60s, then they decided to merge.

Currently there are 16 teams in each conference, in 4 divisions of 4 teams. Each division winner gets into the postseason, then the 2 best remainders from each conference (so 6 in total). Top 2 records of the 6 get a bye, 3,4,5,6 playoff in the wildcard round of the playoffs.

In the regular season each team plays their division home and away (6 games), and on a rotation they play another division in their conference (4) and a division in the other conference (4). Each team then plays the other teams in the conference that finished in the same place in their division. eg if you win your division you play the other division winners in your conference (2).

Thanks teacher. I'll bring an apple tomorrow ... ;)

pauldrulez 03-10-2010 10:27 PM

7/8 on the picks so far.

Cleveland cost me.

AddiscombeEagle 03-10-2010 10:27 PM

Just finished watching the ravens game. Good win and deserved I thought.

jazman 03-10-2010 10:29 PM

Poor form here this week only 4/8 picks so far

oz_da II 03-10-2010 10:29 PM

F'ing Commonwealth Games. Usual coverage of the 2nd Sunday game is tape delayed so "we" can watch the tape delayed coverage of the opening ceremony.

So I'm stuck watching a dodgy stream of the Texans vs Raiders. :(

LLCOOLSTEVE 03-10-2010 10:32 PM

Knew I should have put Torrain in after picking him up

The Omen 03-10-2010 10:33 PM

Swanny32 03-10-2010 10:35 PM
