9ers Panthers D-fest.

CT_Palace 11-11-2013 01:07 AM

9ers O, completely shut down today. Davis injured early in the 1st and a still rusty Manningham doesn't help. But all dues to Carolina, Gore held to 82yds and Kaepernick sacked 6 times.
:( :(

I think the 49ers were held to under 50 total passing yards. So many players on the Panthers D are making plays at the moment. Thoroughly enjoyed the win, an absorbing game although probably a bit dull for the neutral.

CT_Palace 11-11-2013 05:17 AM

It was an absorbing game, despite the second half being a total fail (for the 9ers)

We should start an in-season one

Seahawks back to form this weekend spanking the Falcons, Vikings next up then a 2 week break before 2 huge games against the Saints and 49ers.

davematt 11-11-2013 11:15 AM

Carolina's D was outstanding, but the Niners offence as a whole was bloody awful.

Kaep was a sitting duck for the majority of that second half, and when Vernon Davis went off, he literally had no one to pass too. Crabtree is needed back ASAP.

No way we keep up with Drew Bee's in the Metrodome next week, and Seattle will have our number at the stick in three weeks. So that is 11-5 at best IMO. Another defeat and the final WC spot and 6th seed is the best we will get.

Carolina's offense was pretty poor also, especially through the air, compared to how they usually are. The sign of two good defenses. The Carolina DTs get so much pressure, then you have Johnson and Hardy from the ends, Keuchly and Davis....then rookie Klein and I think our safety got in for a sack or two as well.

The commentator here made the point that both sides were playing as if scared to make a mistake, which I think was true. Neither side really tried to throw it deep, as if they knew one big screw up could be enough to lose the game.

Like you said, they also said SF had four targets to throw at last year, down to two, now down to one. Carolina have grown their reputation after this win, and perhaps some of SF's mystique has been blown now. It will be interesting to see if NE put us in our place, or if the Panthers are 'for real'!

Prophetic?

Oh dear Cowboys. I know I have don't have much sympathy on here and that's far from what I'm looking for. But seriously, we have not progressed whatsoever. Next week is our bye week but it looks like Sean Lee could be out for up to four weeks. And the Cowboys cancelled training. If it was me in charge I'd have them in for EXTRA damn training after that debacle. Monte Kiffin v Rob Ryan. Looks more like a downgrade to me right now.

Same here. Hopefully I'll last longer than three weeks this time. :D

Ok, how about this for a hypothetical situation. You score a TD with 2 minutes left in the game to put your team up by 7 points. Do you kick the XP or go for 2 points?

Finally, Bill Barnwell has decided to take a look at this. I'm pretty sure he's seen my comments asking about this and decided to look at it and not credit me. Happened in the Lions/Bears game with the Lions doing their best to screw themselves to lose the 8 point lead.

Should be ten pound each to enter. 60% to the winner and 40% to the Phillipines appeal.

Bit of fun and doing some good however small at the same time.
