3. Ryan Clady and Eddie Royal in Denver. I like the look of Denver this year (see also number 5). I don't think they'll run deep but they'll push the play-offs close and look to continue to build next year.

4. Toughest job in football right now? Maybe with high expectation but Rodgers isn't a rookie anymore. Sure, he hasn't started but he knows the coaches, he knows the offense and he knows the players around him. Even not rating Tavaris Jackson very highly, I think the Vikings would've won with him but if they are without him, Rodgers will lead the Packers to a win by a score.

5. Cutler for me. He has an improving OL around him, he has some good receivers and he looks composed in the pocket. The only downside? To the Broncos fans, he's not John Elway and until he has a ring he'll always carry that burden.

Croyle looks good but has a young team around him. He can't be judged on week 1, or early season at all, as the team needs to bed around him.

Leinart should be making a difference this year. He's not even starting. He didn't read the offense in pre-season and made numerous awful calls. Not bad ones, AWFUL. He's gone backwards and will forever be a backup if he's not careful. Anyone starting to think that a #10 pick might have been too high for him, despite him thinking he should've been higher?

Young needs to start throwing accurately. Vick might've been a total tool of the highest order but he could run AND throw. Tebow might run for 100 and throw for 200, Vince, but this is the NFL and your team would appreciate it if you started hitting targets.

Jackson is a safe option. He's growing into the role but in 12 starts last year he only threw 9 TD passes. That won't take the Vikings to a championship game.

Wow, I am good... ish.

See #3. Eddie Royal in Denver. Had a great night.

jazman 09-09-2008 01:39 PM

I must check my fantasy team ...

saxoneagle 09-09-2008 01:40 PM

Did anyone see how Clady played for Denver?

Great!

By the way, do you know what the 'GU' on the shirts are this season?

It is for Gene Upshaw, who died during off-season. They also have the badges on the field, too, along with his number, #63.

And which are the two fields which get the most complaints from the players? Miami and Oakland (which I'd say look better than Pittsburgh ever does, and than New England did when they tried to grow proper grass).

Wondered myself but then Ben's Brady post reminded me: Gene Upshaw.

How about the 49ers? That used to be appalling at times ...

Strathclyde Eagle 09-09-2008 02:15 PM

Honestly can't remember the last time I saw a 49ers home game on TV. :(

The one I really remember was the Bears home play-off game with Seattle a few years ago. Wet, and the turf was a mess when the game was decided after OT.

Almost as bad as Wembley. :clown:

Can't find details of the latest Players Association survey on this. Google has failed me on this one I'm afraid.

Just spent the evening watching the Packers Vikings game on Sky +. Rogers did well, quite impressed.

pauldrulez 09-09-2008 11:00 PM

Right as RDS asked so nicely, I will tone down the Pats lovein despite Bradys injury.

Showing my fantasy prowess, I had Brady as my starting QB and left Brett Favre and Jay Cutler on the Bench along with Darren McFadden.

Aaron Rodgers impressive and he will hope to continue that to keep Favre away from the Wisconsin spotlight.

Didnt watch the whole match, but the Raiders look like they can run the ball down the other teams throat, like the Vikings, but both struggle with the ball in the air. As shown by the first 8 Raiders plays being runs and Russells first pass being offtarget.

elliott 09-09-2008 11:39 PM

Nate Burleson out for the year.

Unlucky Seattle!

pauldrulez 10-09-2008 12:38 AM

On that note elliot.

I have updated my blog.

Not on the Patriots feature as promised but a short look at something else.
