Sorry Ben, you know I'm not normally one to pick on something... but the Chiefs are 1-5 at home with the sole win being against Denver when LJ ran for nearly 200 yards.

Sure, they might try and run on you but to think so negatively about such a game seems bizarre. Like I said, only the Dolphins bottle can lose this game.

Even the Bills scored over 50 points at Arrowhead. It won't be a walkover but it will be a W.

OK, let's play a game.

Complete the following sentence:

With the first pick of the 2009 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select ______

Matt Stafford, QB, Georgia.

Who will be a massive flop. Not a fan, sorry.

Incidentally, as unlikely as it might be, the Lions don't have the number one picks sewn up yet. They only have to make up 1.5 games on the Bungals.

Luckily for you chaps, Gore is questionable as I am sure he would want to perform being a former Hurricane. The OL is showing glimpses of quality, Shaun Hill (our nobody at QB) is 5-2 as a starter and we finally have three, let alone one wideouts (which we have barely had for several years now) who can damage teams.

The D is talented and has also underachieved on too many occasions. A D with Justin Smith, Patrick Willis, Takeo Spikes, Michael Lewis and Nate Clements should be dominating 75% of the opposition.

I really am not sure what the outcome will be. We could have a two TD defeat, or just as likely, beat you by a score. I will have to rest with a pessimistic 10 point defeat.

Nice to see you back on here. :p

As I said earlier, I wish Singletary wasn't in charge from our point of view. His presence on the sideline, and what it has done for the Niners, make this a much harder game now. If Gore is out that's a big help for us, but I'm not taking anything forgranted. I'll take a win of any variety, I'm not fussy.

I know; I said it was only a game ;)

I think they take Stafford and the Bungals take Oher of Ole Miss or Andre Smith at Alabama. I think that will be the case whatever order they finish in.

Looks like Tebow is determined to do his senior year but McCoy has all but ruled himself out of completing college. Not heard about Bradford or Sanchez but I expect one to declare.

Strathclyde Eagle 09-12-2008 04:28 PM

I thought they said on PTI that McCoy was returning to Texas for his senior year?

Oh, I thought they said the opposite!

Matt Schaubs return.

They had a good start, Rosenfels came in, almost led them to victory against the Colts before he exploded with stupidness. Lost a few on the run.

Schaub is back and they will hurt some teams over the next few games and ruin some playoff challenges

This is what happens when I watch it from Sky+ at 6:30am! I'll see what else I can find out to confirm it one way or the other.

From Wiki:

On December 8, 2008, after the Longhorns learned they had been passed over for the national championship game, McCoy said he would return to the team for his senior year. McCoy said he wanted to play for the national championship, McCoy indicated he wants to play for a national championship. He also said, "I’m coming back because we have a solid coaching staff, and I’m coming back because I feel like I can develop the young receivers we have."[105]

See above. I also have to contend with the wife talking over the TV so I obviously misheard.

Strathclyde Eagle 09-12-2008 04:32 PM

Every news link has McCoy returning to Texas for his senior year.

If you lose to the Chiefs who have fallen apart again, then its disgraceful. Thigpen has fallen apart, their defense is awful and the coach has thrown in the towel. That means aggressive, stupid plays like the 2 point conversion attempt

Yeah, they have a habit of doing that. The Mrs actually started talking over Warnock's post-match interview on Sky Sports News last night. It wasn't appreciated.

Pause, rewind, play. (Repeat.)

I don't agree with your argument about the 2 point conversion but I can't be bothered to argue with you.

pauldrulez 09-12-2008 04:36 PM

With the first pick of the 2009 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select: Michael Oher, Offensive Tackle, Senior, University of Missouri.

Did you think Shanahan was stupid to go for it in week 2 against the Chargers? I didn't dislike Edwards' decision in that instance, it made more sense than punting to the Saints in the dying minutes.

It wasn't stupid in sorts, but my point is that they will go with risky plays that may cost them points that the Dolphins should easily take advantage of.

If they don't, they deserve to lose.

Stats say you have about a 50% chance of making the two-pointer.

Or you take the extra point and you have a 50% chance of winning the OT coin toss. Combine that with leading a shit offence half way down the field for a FG chance and that 50% drops rapidly.

I'd have gone for 2 as well.
