That was two passes in a row, although some receivers change their route as they see the play unfold and the QB automatically looks for the change, that looked to me like Witten ran what he was supposed to and Romo was on a different play to everyone else. I'm pretty sure only one receiver was looking at Romo at the time. And the others were on their way down the field and not looking (like Witten was) |
Just going to let the Panthers keep ticking along under the radar......

Witten immediately held his hand up and said afterwards he'd run the wrong route. :clown: Still doesn't change the fact Romo threw the ball. |

As I put before, thats because of the Defenses and difference in running games of the two teams. Rivers has to do it, I haven't seen Manning do it. Thats probably why I think he is better than Manning. Yes Manning does have a Superbowl (cough)lightning in a bottle(cough);) so therefore his record is going to be better than Rivers if you class it like that. We were originally talking about the trade. Who would you rather have: Eli "the tramp" Manning or Phillip Rivers, Nate Kaeding and Shawne Merriman |

If Rivers can win a shootout, and often has to, then it could be argued that even Merriman isn't enough of a difference maker on the other side of the ball causing Rivers to be in that position. Just ask yourself this, which to me over-rides everything previously said: in the Superbowl, coming down the stretch, needing a score against the undefeated New England Patriots, would you rather have Manning or Rivers leading your team? |
I'll answer that when I can find who has the most 4th quarter comebacks of the two.

And yes, the Chargers did well out of the trade, but until they win the big one I think you have to call it in the Giants' favour. Quote:

Fair enough on the ring, but if you discount the rings etc and just have it as the players qualities.
Them 3 players or Eli. For me, there is no contest, not because I hate Eli, but because I think the Chargers have 3 quality players, the Giants have one. Jaz has posted in the Fantasy NFL thread today, just to blame Fox for him losing again. I'll nail my colours to the mast now and say the Superbowl will be: The Carolina Panthers against the Tennessee Titans. Two running back tandems against each other. Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams against Chris Johnson and LenWhale Diet. Or, it could be the ManningBowl as the Colts could easily win out and hit the playoffs in form and take on the Broncos/Chargers in the 5th seed position. Or, it could be the RookieBowl with Ryan vs Flacco in Falcons vs Ravens. Or, the NYBowl, where I wont watch if it happens. Or the Patriots-Cowboys in the 1,000,000/1 Bowl. As in, no chance. |
Or it could be the AverageBowl in the battle of the Cardinals and the Broncos.
At least it would be a shootout. I've narrowed it down to 6 :hi: ;) |

You can't discount the f*cking rings, it is what careers are defined upon ultimately unless you are a Brett Favre or an Emmitt Smith and you have the yards and the TDs to backup your performances (although they have rings too, you know). In this argument, you can't discount the fact one has won it all and one has won f*ck all. Please. Stop it. |
You did know that the Chargers got more players in the trade, right? ;)
When the trade was made I thought, "Wow, the Giants gave up a lot to get Eli." When they won the Super Bowl it made it worthwhile. That's exactly why they traded for him. |
And the Cowboys-Giants line is Cowboys by 3.5.
|
••••s sake, all I said originally is that I would prefer Rivers, Merriman and Kaeding to Eli "tramp" Manning.
In fact, I would prefer Rivers to Manning. And if I had one of them players to replace Brady, it would be Rivers every time. And prediction: Giants 24-21 Cowboys |
"Discount the rings" must be the stupidest thing you've ever said, actually.

Ahmed Bradshaw is obviously better than LaDainian Tomlinson. Jared Lorenzen is better than Tony Romo. Without the rings and the trophies, you judge the ability. Who is/was a better player, Theo Zagorakis or Luis Figo? |
