Weren't you 13 points down at that point? The game was effectively already over. (Please remember I still think that was a cheap shot.)

We were 13 up, but he had been cheapshotted on our 2nd play of that quarter and missed part of that series and I think returned on a 3rd and long as we punted.

That was either our 2nd or 3rd series where he got knocked out of the game completely.

I have to admit I didn't see that game so can't really comment on the first part. But just watched that hit again and it does look pretty nasty and wasnt really necessary, but he never got fined for it

pauldrulez 15-12-2008 12:36 PM

Which is why people are angry about it.

Our useless TE finally pulls in a TD catch last week, put the ball under a shirt to show his wife was pregnant, and got a 15yd penalty and a $10k fine. What is up with that?

Strathclyde Eagle 15-12-2008 12:42 PM

Sorry Nookiebear, Mr C, and all the other Redskins fans, but this Deadspin headline amused me:
Playoff Spots Are On the Line, Nobody Told Washington [NFL Update]

Gutting, get the feeling we won’t make the play offs now, we have to now beat the Cowboys at their place and going to be hard to pick ourselves up after that.

Great game mind, and backs up the conversation on here the other week about games not needing lots of touchdowns to be entertaining.

Most exciting game of the season so far for me. So much intensity and determination from both teams. But I swear Ben is gonna give me a heartattack, one moment he plays like Kordell Stewart, the next he's John Elway with 'that drive'.

And a defensive match like that, is much more entertaining than a shootout for me.

AddiscombeEagle 15-12-2008 12:55 PM

I must admit until that final drive, I couldn't see you scoring. Equally we never did either, despite some great field position.

No, just fun when the Simmons/Cousin Sal podcast comes out on Tuesday.

jazman 15-12-2008 01:19 PM

Well, as I said, out at a gig last night and failed to stay awake for the late game. And the wait to watch the game after work was too much to bare so I just checked out the score ...

saxoneagle 15-12-2008 02:29 PM

I watched the games last night but was way too stoned to know what was going on. I did call the Steelers TD as a TD though ;)

saxoneagle 15-12-2008 02:29 PM

Oh, and I'm 5 points up on Strath in the Fantasy so lets see what Fox change this week... I'm 137.63 to Strath's 132.82.

I'm always the same (drunk not stoned).

At the time, I appear to know what's going on, but the morning after, there's always a few shock results which I completely missed!

I didn't realise 9ers beat Jets for ages!

saxoneagle 15-12-2008 02:46 PM

We were watching some of the Vikings game and as it was one-sided, my mate was screaming at the TV for them to switch over the the Falcons, which was a 3 point game.

Neither of us had realised, in our state, that the game had finished earlier :D

Chief Brody 15-12-2008 02:49 PM

Well done the Fins.

Have to say though that we should have beaten you. Dominated possession (why did Martz run 22 consecutive pass plays in the 2nd half? :grrr: ), shut you down to one third down conv, yet could not finish three times in the red zone! Combine that with two blown covererages and you have a frustrating loss.

I see Porter tried to rile Davis before kick-off (which would normally work), but he seems to be maturing! I aslo note that Davis/Staley subsequently shut him out of the game. His one (potentially game saving sack) from taking on Simms with no-one in the backfield on the 4th down with 1 minute left. :( Still, showing signs of improvement.....slowly.

Best of luck in the play-offs boys.
