Sourcing an alternative christmas present for a niece on christmas eve because amazon couldnt deliver in 3 weeks and then finding said delivery on your doorstep when you get home. Hmff

Terrace Bickle 26-12-2020 01:04 AM

Most people's annoyance at the extended Christmas build up has been done to death. It seemed to be brought forward another 2 weeks due to Covid.
We've been working from home with the radio on in the background and it's been wall to wall Christmas tunes throughout since mid-November. There being 12 days to Christmas it always leaves me a bit miffed that the festive music stops immediately after Christmas day. I'm sure I'm not imaging this.

Hedgehog 26-12-2020 06:42 AM

I got my wife Apple AirPods Pro for Christmas... the whole noise cancelling feature is either bull shit, or this set don't work. Spent all afternoon on on a Chat with an Apple dude.

At the end of an hour or so he told be to take it into a store, which is tough right now as they are all shut down due to COVID.

My wife got me a Fitbit watch, and although it is early doors yet, the thing is NOT very user friendly and is way too over complicated for what it ultimately is used for.

Not a good Christmas gift say in the Hedgehog household.

Given Hedgers constant travails with technology and gripes about not being able to use it on here, why he thought it was a good idea to get more is beyond me. Should've just got more.glue sticks.

My local Chinese Takeaway still proudly displaying 'Cash Only' in the window and both local cash machines out of money.

People walking down the middle of unlit back lanes with no torch.

Oh and some footballing related matter from earlier :veryangry

glenn.f 26-12-2020 08:11 PM

Falling over the cat every time I venture into the fridge to get something to eat because he knows there is still plenty of turkey leftovers for him to scoff. From the minute it came home Christmas Eve, right through the cooking process Shadow has lived up to his name and accompanied either one of around the kitchen awaiting his latest scraps. Little sod even got some before we did on the big day. He's currently getting acquainted with Storm Bella for one misdemeanor too many.

How many more times, changing the batteries in torches on a production line does not mean you were "in engineering" .

Getting grief for not always paying attention to the witterings emanating from the wife's mouth.

I enjoy listening to my mates Madrilena missus asking him to do something. Sounds like she's giving him a right rollicking . even when she is being nice.

Ever try arguing back in Spanish, cos that's doubly amusing for the onlooker.

Seconded. Obviously they are to be applauded for their efforts to reduce plastic packaging, but not sure they've got it right. It occurred to me that a second loop of paper longditudenly (is that a word ?) would double their advertising opportunity and remove the need for the glue.

Today's annoyance is the BBC Sounds app spamming me with on my phone and pad with notifications for food programmes. F**k off! I only use your stupid app because you blocked everyone else from carrying your radio shows. So therefore, much like the tiresome right-wing weasel-trolls on here, the notifications are now BLOCKED.

Hedgehog 28-12-2020 09:10 PM

Realizing at half time today that today's games are a new round, and I had not submitted my Prediction League scores for this round.

What is really annoying is I always predict Palace games as 1-1 regardless of who we play.

As it was half time it would not let me enter my pick for the Palace game, but did allow me to fill in all the other games.

3 points lost...

The nauseating gushing over Leeds by pundits, especially the BT crew. Itís ridiculously over the top. Watching the Spurs game the pre match was sickly enough but itís over flowed into the match commentary to the point that they are describing everyday stuff as if itís Messi like and managerial genius. Apparently Ayling has invented stepping into midfield from the CB position. Righhhhhtttt.... Have no problem with Leeds and there are things to praise for sure but this mindless OTT drivel is driving me crazy. We had it with Wolves for a season but they have finally noticed that other than their goals apart Wolves are worse than watching paint dry. TBH I have watched a lot of Leeds games this season and at its bests itís great but during spells the matches get very scrappy and it can be like watching school kids as everyone tires. If Ďgoodí just means a lot of mistakes/goals at either end to keep the pundits happy then it often meets that criteria.

Give them credit but not this fawning.

If we had lost that I would have required something a lot stronger than Angel Delight, tinned fruit and chocolate biscuits, I can tell you.

There was a flurry of old threads bumped quite recently which totally disproved this theory.

Not sure if it’s a lockdown thing, as last time I also noticed people behaving in unorthodox ways; but twice today whilst driving on a busy main road, I’ve had joggers running in the road when the pavement is clear and perfectly ok to run on. We laugh at how stupid pheasants are when it comes to road sense but Jeezo.

Not seen this recently, but when we had the first lockdown I saw it a couple of times.

The thing that got be, was the dirty looks I got from them when I had the audacity to drive past them (not at them, but physically having to go around them).
