A shame you forgot the detail, I never claimed that. I own my companies ; all of my time is my own to police.

Anyhoo.

I have the rats today.

My better half should be in the dentist's chair right now resolving something that is beyond urgent. Instead, she is moping in bed.

That means that I will get the brunt of her personal angst today.

I have already broken up some egg shells and laid them around the house and garden.

Ooooh you little fibber.

I paraphrase perhaps, but you said you don't post on client's time.

You know full well I am not going to look across countless threads and post to catch you out. I don't bookmark posts like certain others.

Being told we have to pay a 3 lukas ($5) invoice that is not due until the end of November otherwise the bank giving the buyer of our apartment his mortgage will decide that we are in debt and call the whole transaction off.

Banks here are the most c#untish I have ever had to deal with and real estate agents jump at the slightest request from them - actually the whole ******* population do. So the banks dont feel any need to address their appalling customer service and abuse of power.

Blind_Eagle 20-10-2021 07:05 PM

Being Wednesday we went for lunch at a local restaurant and were surprised to find a £5.30 service charge on the cost of a bottle of wine that was basically dumped in a bucket of ice alongside us still unopened.

They also believed it was perfectly acceptable to serve the brandy and coffees before the dessert and still happily charge us 12.5% service on the whole meal despite their numerous cock ups.

Yet another restaurant down here that has moved to including service charge on the bill, to cover shit service, knowing most people will just pay the bill.

That just means that you were lying when you 'scored points' telling me hat you don't post on the BBS on client's time.

That's not a good look - making things up to score clever little points.

I had you down as a honest poster - but you might as well be selling baby milk powder to the Chinese.

I had to be escorted out of the branch of one when I was trying to finalise my last sale.

The bank workers live in the same corporative fantasy bubble their bosses have created. They actually don't get why their policies and rip offs are so frustrating to regular people.

And this my friend should be what part of the new constitution should be about.

I think Costa Pete might be able to trump us on a banking abuse story.

Is the 12.5% in lieu of tip? (Edit: just saw your post above)

I'm always amazed at what restaurants can charge for corkage (is that the right word for when you bring your own wine?). We were somewhere recently and they wanted $25 to pop the cork. Not for us I should add.

Same here, some may remember the bank wanting up to 20% to process a bankers draft from the sale of our house.

I told the current Mrs Maidstoned that we should get a bank transfer instead as that's free, so that's what we asked for.

Come the day if the transaction there are 6 of us at the Notary for a 10am appointment, the problem was that a representative from the buyers Bank has to attend to authenticate the transfer... in person...at 11am the buyer called her bank to be told the rep was on their way......at 12 they called again to be told the same thing, at 1:30 the notary called the bank to explain they close at 2pm....the rep appeared at 1:45, without any apologies.

It all.depends, many places I have used in the past (usually Thai or other Asian places) don't have a drinks licence and so you are told to bring your own. A few of them (ones I haven't been back to) have charged corkage.

Almost makes it pointless taking your own wine doesn't it at that price - unless you brought in a bottle of vinegar purporting to be wine and thus only costing $5. Actually that reminds me of the time a bloke at work used to do booze cruises to France and offered to bring crates back at decent prices. I bought one off him and didn't know any different until a French visitor told me we had a crate of cooking wine.

Congratulations on almost achieving a sequence of your own posts to rival Peter H.

Mrs Richard is also a big fan of the Channel 5 ACGAS. I have contented myself with tutting along and saying that it isn't as good as the Christopher Timothy, Robert Hardy, Peter Davidson, Carol Drinkwater version, but I have to confess that this imposter has grown on me - partly because (for aficionados of the books) James Herriot actually has a Scottish accent in this version - although that may be the televisual equivalent of Stockholm Syndrome.

Modern taps with ceramic washers.

Why is the lock nut always done up with a comedy off-the-scale torque setting whilst simultaneously being fashioned of peanut brittle?

Even the plumbers I know shrug their shoulders and say "Don't mess about with cartridges, just replace the whole thing".

Fixing a dripping tap is now much harder than it used to be.

Everything has become more difficult than it used to be. Too many people who've been brought up using computers for every little thing are in charge now of running jobs, which they have absolutely no hands on experience of doing.
"The critical path on the computer says, this job should have been completed yesterday."
"Yes, but we've had four weeks of snow."
"But the computer says. . . "

The Trailers on every selection on Netflix and Prime I am finding myself speed reading the description to try and beat the trailer starting.

Another one cannot remember what soppy film we watched on Netflix with Denzel Washington about a kidnapped kid, but the main picture for the film was a ******* spoiler!

TBH Deciding to produce and put out Queen Latifah as a female version of The Equalizer is pushing things a bit, even for those who couldn't give a toss either way.

Why?

Getting an email from an electronic store that I have bought various things from over the years telling me that I have reward points accumulated that will expire at the end of the year.

I try and log into my account but have forgotten my password, go through a whole process to get a new password, get logged in finally to see I have 213 points, and "just another 37 points needed to get $5 off my next purchase".... FFS!

The thread title is things that annoy you. Not things that annoy everyone.

Should she have been a male version instead? Last time I checked she was still a woman albeit fond of comfortable shoes.

I was thinking about this. I would love to see a situation where he comes face to face with Alex Baldwin. Should make that PPV.

I am not personally convinced she has the skills to take out serious bad guys that need equalising.

Unless she is going to 'whatever' them to death.

As I say, it is not my market. I just wonder whose market it is actually aimed at.

They are not just sure, they are very sure. You should be proportionately extra scared of bunglers getting in if you replied "I'm alright Jack", because Jack knows...

Self centred ***** like the woman who sat at the table next to us listening to a personal business message on the loudspeaker of her phone for 15 minutes, ignoring comments and requests from us and staff members asking her to turn it down or off.
