There are a few teams who won the division in Week 11. That's the current record and yes, Week 10 is the earliest the Pats can do it.
'85 Bears was one I believe and just three seasons ago PHilly won NFC East at a canter. Trting to recall how quick the BEars won their div last year |
Think it was quite late - wasn't that OT game against Tampa something to do with them clinching?
|
WEll, as they were 13-3 and the Giants made the play offs on 8-8 I'm guessing either the VIkes or Pack were 8-8 or worse. As the Pack were 4-8 at one stage then surely CHi Town won the div quite early (but maybe not Wk 11)
|
How about this
The Dolphins go 0-16 the season someone matches their perfect unbeaten year!! Wonder what the odds would be on that |
Quote:
0-16 looks ever more possible. |
Quote:
I need a new shirt for Wembley now. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH Next shirts on my list: Bob Kuechenberg Jim Jenson (just CRASH written on the back) Kim Bokamper Larry Little Can't go wrong with that |
Quote:
Think the odds on that could get quite short. I think the only possible bump in the road for the Pats now might be Indy on the road, but that's another score for them to settle and they won't be short on motivation there. Quote:
On the whole as much as I like Chambers I think it's a good trade, depending on who we pick. Here's a question for everyone: Is LaDanian Tomlinson a better passer than any QB Chambers even had throwing to him while he was a Dolphin? Incidentally I don't know how some pundits rate us above St. Louis. They're ravished by injuries, we've only had that problem at safety. |
In fairness we've been struggling at DT and LB too.
|
Only Crowder's out at LB though now? His injury and Thomas's injury didn't overlap except for the second half of the Raiders game.
|
It's becoming a Dolphins love-in this thread :)
|
What's wrong with that? ;)

That's the 2nd decent thing to do with Miami I've seen (the other being their 2 point conversion v the Jets to win me a bet)
|
Quote:
I'll wait until after this week as -1600 isn't a worthwhile bet on NE. I'll stick on a lazy $20 and keep doing New Eng/Colts doubles with Miami's opponents and then just doubles with the winner of INdy v Pats and keep putting the money. Could be a nice sum getting accumulated by Wk 17 even at low odds. |

Go the Pats:moo: |
Dave, who's your favourite ever Patriot?
Brady, Moss, Bruschi, Vinatieri? Or Grogan, Morgan, Tippett? Please ask "who?". :D Bonus points if your actual answer is Rich Camarillo, and someone can find online footage of his 62 yard punt in Super Bowl XX that bounced and rolled for about thirty yards on the Superdome Astroturf. |
No Patriot will remember SB XX - it's been erased from their memory!
Strathclyde, Dave might surprise you and say John Smith is his favourite Pat and, as a Brit in that league, was his reason for following New England. You never know. I'm still betting on - 'WHO?' being the answer though. |
Quote:
Think mine still is Brian Bosworth for sheer comedy value. |
Quote:
One of my earliest American Football memories was John Smith being on the sideline of a Jets-Patriots game in 1985 with the score tied 13-each at the end of regulation. At that point in time the Patriots had never won an overtime game in the regular season in their history. Quote:
Ran his mouth, but backed it up and did it in the biggest spots, justifying the Prime Time nickname. Possibly the greatest returner pre-Hester as well. Shameful lack of clips of his available online. One of his returns against the Giants on a Monday night was out of this world. On a non American Football playing side it is also worth noting: a) He was a decent enough baseball player. Hit over .500 in the 1992 World Series (don't get me started on why he was taken out of game 6 of that series in the bottom of the ninth with the game tied). b) He has enormous ears, which are always good comedy value when he appears on the NFL Network. Incidentally Emmitt Smith is working his way up my list. I've been looking out on YouTube for a clip of him butchering a famous Jim Valvano quote which is apparently hysterical. No luck yet though. Think I might have to put together a team of non-Dolphin favourites for Madden purposes. |
Always liked Ickey Woods as well because of his Ickey Shuffle as well
|
I'd make Woods starting FB of a cult heroes Madden team.

Dolphins cheerleaders at Selhurst

You serious Steve?
|
Tuesday night, thread in Gen Palace discussion :)
|
Can't do both sadly.
Major upgrade over the Palace Crystals! |
With our two new arrivals, we now have seven defensive tackles on the active roster. (Holliday, Traylor, Wright, Soliai, Fifita, Mahelona and Rayburn.)
One question: Why? |
Quote:
|
We've just signed a guy called Anthony Bryant.
What position does he play, you ask? Defensive ••••••• tackle. I know our run defense is poor but seriously, Cam, do we need eight of them?!! |
Quote:
Apparently, if they all played at the same time they'd finally be able to stuff the run up the middle. |
Revolutionary new 8-1-2 system, innit.
Actually we've got Crowder and Thomas, let's make that a 8-2-1 instead. No-one will miss the secondary, they're not there anyway. BTW has anyone seen the Steve Smith TD from last weekend where the Cardinals' DB just stopped? Very strange. |
Did I imagine it, or did Martin Johnson just say "You play to win the game" on the ITV news? Herm Edwards is very proud.
|
Has anyone had their tickets for next Sunday arrive yet?
|
Yep, about two weeks ago I think.
|
Yeah we ordered 2 sets to different addresses and they both arrived around 3 weeks ago.
|
got em about 10 days ago
|
Fins 16 point dogs right now...
|
Keyshawn Johnson just did an awesome interview with Chad Johnson on ESPN.
Asked some really good Q's about Chad being a problem on the team... and worrying more about TD celebrations than winning. |

I agree that CJ isn't the problem. I think if you are going to look at anything as a major problem with the Bengals... it's the defense. |
Quote:
|
Quote:
JLM right on the money again - the Bengals problem is the D. Add in the arrests/suspensions and I don't know how you can blame Johnson (or Palmer or his colleague WR with the long surname which I can't spell). I'm glad we don't get that NFL preview show on NASN anymore. The only half-decent one on it was Steve Young. |
Quote:
T.J. H. :p Did you ever see this fantasy football commercial? |
That didn't take long...
|
If I never hear Dan Dierdorf again in my life it'll be too soon. :bash:
|
Wow... nearly coering the spread already
|
You make it sounds like a surprise! Brady 7-7. Will probably be 44-45 (1 drop) by the end of the day.
|
Ouch!
|
MIA30 J.Feely kicks 47 yards from MIA 30 to NE 23. W.Andrews for 77 yards, TOUCHDOWN.
Wayne? |
I see my pot shot bet on Miami is money down the drain.
Good QB stats though between Brady and Lemon 13/13 so far!!! |
Can't believe the Giants can dominate big time and are still 7-6 down
|
WOW
Nice timing Giants force a turnover on the SF 27 HERE WE GO!! |
How long do you think the Pats will keep their starts in? Through the third or later?
|
Quote:

Quote:
TOUCHDOWN GIANTS :D :p :D :p (Prays that this post and other similar ones don't come back to haunt him in 7 days time at Wembley) |
Another turnover
GO GIANTS!! |
Jeff Garcia with impressive numbers so far
15/16 for 170 yards and 1TD 0 INT |
Brady with 4 TD's now and still perfect!
|
Strath's 70 point prediction for the Pats is well on course!!!!
35-7! Randy Moss scoring points galore for my Fantasy team......what a shame I forgot to take out Morris and Ben Watson!! Might have actually done something if I'd fielded a full team |
Quote:
|
Strathclyde makes it to Wembley 8/1
Strathclyde throws himself in front of a bus before next Sunday 1/10 |
BBC News reports another vehicle driving into the terminal at Glasgow Airport next Sunday morning... actually, I'd better not give myself ideas.
Our defence couldn't be softer if our DC was Craig Piffle-Sorewood (or whatever his name is). |
Quote:
Can I suggest this for the goldmine? |

Brady finally misses one
|
Exciting first halfs of the early games. A lot of points on the board...
|
291 yards 5 TD's -- First half
Unbelieveable. Starters may just shower up and head home at HT!! |
Osi Umeniora gets the hatrick
SACK FORCED FUMBLE TOUCHDOWN RETURN All on the one play! Awesome from the NFL's leading sack man. Even more annoying that I forgot to switch Morris and Watson from my Fantasy team as I have the Giants defense as well!!! |
Come on Ravens - get me out of this financial mess!!!
More points in 7 2nd half mins in Buffalo than the whole 1st half! |

3 x running plays & no first downs loses about two minutes off the clock. Keep that up for the rest of the game and we might keep the Pats below 70.
Eight minute drive ended with a pick - not the worst idea in the world! (Desperate? Moi?) BTW Cris the last time I felt this pessimistic about going to see a team of mine in person was probably before I went to see Palace at Newcastle in March 1998. Do you want to know how that worked out? ;) |
How the hell o Baltimore give up 19 points to the ••••••• Bills.
Why do I care? Because they're ••••••• up my fantasy football team!!!!!!!! :bash: I can't afford to lose!!! |
I saw a few people picking the Bills in that one Jason. The Ravens aren't as good as people think it seems.
|
It ain't pretty over at Finheaven.
Pats doing fake spikes and all sorts. BTW Cris Mangini started all this by grassing them up for videogate. You're right in line later this season. |
Quote:
The Baltimore O hasn't helped much and is at falt for some of the points from turnovers... but only 2 sacks? Get some pressure on the kid!!!! Sorry... fantasy football is really pissing me off today :D |
See Tony. As soon as I type that the Baltimore D gets a Pick 6! :D
|
Ah, only the Fins and the Finheaven moderators are doing that to me (they merge everything into one thread on game days, makes everything a nightmare to follow).
|
Matt Cassel in for Brady, and he throws a pick-6. That's the future if Brady gets hurt.
|
Brady back in.
|
Quote:
 Hope the bastard gets hurt. He should be no where near the field at this point. |
Quote:
|
Hmm, would I be laugh if Brady got injured while the Pats run up the score on their own artificial turf? Hmm...
(I know they're on the road this week, but they're going to keep on running scores up all this season.) |
Escaped only down by 21. I'll take that and move on.
First and only home game of the season next week. |
:D
|
Bloody Ravens and Tampa Bay and Houston.
My picking has gone to pot |
I feel your Ravens pain Chester.
Thanks to the power of Betfair trading my loss on Arizona turned into a financial win thanks to their near comeback. Giants winning me 4/4 bets in the space of 6 days. Their defense is simply awesome right now. Just worried Tony's gonna go all that way to Wembley and not even see a TD for his troubles. |
Quote:
|
Houston trying to complete the greatest comeback in the history of the NFL!!!!
|
Jets game been going less than 6 mins and already receptions of 56 and 57 in the game.
Jets leading 7-0 but I fear that lead won't last too long!! |
Houston two onside recovery kicks and now they have scored
  |
Chad Pennington 2/2 79 yds 1TD
Now THAT'S a start!! |
Quote:
|
Jets hold out on the goal line. Hurrah
|
Just readinbg the play-by-play on that Houston. Simply awesome
|
Texans in field goal range
:sob: |
29 4th quarter points!
|
8 field goals fair play. what a agame
|
Chad 6/6 104 yds 1TD
Looks like Brady left Miami and decided to fly to Cincy and start with the Jets. |
St LOuis 1st & Goal at the 4 and still can't get a TD
FFS |
That is one of the most bizarre touchdowns for the Vikings I have seen!!
|
:D
I liked the one where the DT ran it 80 yards and it didn't count |
