The comments sections anyway :D They banned my IP address. :D

All I done was insult Cutler, Schefter and then Mayock in 3 comments.

There wasn't even a pro-Patriot comment in there from me.

Maybe because Mayock is now on Heyward-Bey in the draft as a top 10 prospect after doing the same to Ayers. Ayers he said was "12th best player in the Draft" and "underrated" at the Combine.

That was 3 weeks after Kiper had him as one of the top 10 prospects but said he couldn't fit him into the top 10 of the draft. And Kiper had been on DH-B as well but slowed on him recently to focus on other positions so Mayock has to jump in to show how excellent he is.

Will you ever learn? :rolleyes:

Kiper is long past it as an 'expert'. Bordering on clueless now. His 'analysis' these days is about as well thought out and logical as... well, as pauldrulez's.

Now Mayock, I quite like.

elliott 07-04-2009 12:56 PM

Kiper is dreadful. Some of the stuff he was writing I was laughing at. And I know very little about the draft.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of Gil either.

I think I remember listening to Mayock at the draft last year and liked what he was saying.

Paul - do you not think that they might not be "copying" and might actually have lots of experience which leads them to the same conclusions?

:rolleyes:

And great news on Brady throwing passes but what the f*ck else would he be doing in off-season conditioning? Obviously a slow news day...

pauldrulez 07-04-2009 07:40 PM

It was more about Welker and Lewis being at the camp whereas Galloway hasn't turned up yet.

The strongest piece of evidence I have on Mayock (and the reason I dislike him although I have come around a little bit from his TV appearances) is when the Patriots drafted Jerod Mayo.

Belichick on Patriotscam
Mayock: I love the pick, Bill. I am a great believer in Jerod and had him as one of the sleepers of this draft.

The fact: Mayo was at 31 in the final Mayock Mock Draft going to the NY Giants.

There were other reasons throughout that draft, but he seems to like every pick ;)

So having someone at 31 in the draft isn't showing that there is a possibility they are a solid first round pick?

And he is no different from the way you picked about 20 teams to win last years Superbowl...

pauldrulez 07-04-2009 09:15 PM

I'm not paid millions to look like an ass.

I do it for free :hi:

pauldrulez 07-04-2009 09:17 PM

Mayock did not have Mayo anywhere near his top 10.

I'll find the quote, but he manages to tell Belichick in his interview on Patscam how he thought Mayo was a great player and praises himself etc.

As I said though, Mayock has grown on me this year. The guy I really like is Charles Davis. Not sure why, but he comes across the right way.

Only my simple view but I'd much rather be paid millions to look like a complete cock rather than do it for free, but each to their own ... :o

I don't understand the point you're trying to make.

31 is a sleeper kind of slot, right? Which is exactly how he described it to Belichick? What the heck are you talking about?

I said that 4 or 5 posts up :p

ESPN.com - Cincinnati Bengals reach deal with DT Tank Johnson.

You couldn't make it up.

pauldrulez 08-04-2009 09:40 AM

I re-watched it on the nfl.com videos.

The word sleeper wasn't used.

Here is what was said:
"Bill, i'm one of the Jerod Mayo believers and think he is underrated"

If you have someone at 31 and they are picked at 10. You have underrated them yourself. I'd like to mention that he then grasses up Charles Davis who wanted the Pats to draft Branden Albert. All because Davis is catching him to be the guy on NFL Network for the Draft.

And the Bungals. You actually cant make it up.

I'm looking for them to take Raji in the first round no matter whether he failed the drugs test or not :D

How many criminals are there throughout the rounds? They even managed to take that guy in the 4th round last year that had the most problems in the entire draft and I think has already done stuff wrong already.

pauldrulez 08-04-2009 09:42 AM

It was 5th Round, Jason Shirley.

In Nov 08, was found guilty of drunken driving and hit and run. Sentenced to 30 days in a work program.

Watching some of the old coverage of last years draft.

This screen popped up:
MAYOCK'S TOP FIVE
Inside Linebacker Rankings:
1. Dan Connor ---> 3rd round Carolina
2. Curtis Lofton ---> 2nd round Atlanta
3. Spencer Larsen ---> 6th round Denver
4. Beau Bell ---> 4th round Cleveland
5. Jolonn Dunbar ---> UDFA N.O Saints

This was from the end of March. Less than a month before the Draft. How do you get it this wrong?

You know voluntary camp is exactly that. It's not "voluntary":hmph: , its voluntary. As in "if you're bored this summer, why not roll up and play some flag"

Normally its the receivers and D line who don't tend to show up, but its expected.

we all know that predicting the draft is a lot of bollocks though. i mean, its shite and pointless.

WHEN i'm an nfl head coach i'm gonna trade away all my 1s and 2s and try and get as many 4s 5s 6s. You have just as much chance of a player playing 5 years in the NFL for you and your just doubling the number of lottery tickets in your hand.

Yep, thats why Brady has people shooting photographers in Costa Rica at his 2nd wedding to Gisele. Man, he is under the thumb.

And why Moss went and started a NASCAR team last year, or something like that.

Does anyone think that the Lions will seriously just let the time run out on their pick? If they do that, then they will end up changing the rules for next year. The salaries are too high as it is for rookies. No way should Matt Ryan have been coming out with a contract as high as Manning and Brady.

It also causes the agents to complain about it. If Detroit race Seattle up at pick 4 and beat them and draft Aaron Curry after the Rams and Chiefs take the top 2 tackles, should he get the money for being 3rd player taken or 1st player taken as it was the first overall pick that was used. This could cause all sorts of problems.
