Inkjet printers are a rip off as well as being useless. Get a laser printer. More expensive up front and the cartridges cost more but works out cheaper pretty soon as well as being a good deal less inconvenient as you don't have to replace the things every ten minutes. I bought one a year ago and still haven't changed the starter cartridges it came with. They also don't get jammed up, bleed all over the place or go offline for no reason all the time; oh and the printing doesn't smudge or run on the page. HP and Brother seem to make the best ones or I suppose Canon.

Doesn't seem a lot different than scrolling to the bottom of the page to get to the list of forums.

I'll take a test drive of the Forum Jump anyway... if I can remember!

Buy an Epson and then use 3rd party cartridges.

They usually cost about £13 for twelve cartridges delivered.

I just go back to the forums page and refresh. Latest five or six threads with new posts across all forums appear there.

No drama.

Actually it is easier than that. Just click forums at the top middle of the page.

I'm beginning to see its use. Mainly as it is closer to the last post at the bottom of the page, than having to scroll all the way back to the top for the other methods.

I guess depending how far down the page the last post is, this is a considerable advantage... now what will I do with all these milliseconds I'm going to save?

Then again I just discovered Control Up Arrow takes you to the top of the page instantly... talk about teaching an old dog new tricks!

All this after spending all yesterday teaching myself to use a new CAD software I bought.

Punch! ViaCAD 2d

Amazon Link

Amazingly it only cost me $2.94... I'm still waiting for the catch. If you want the modelling (3D) version it's about $70 (or £ equivilent). I suspect nobody wants the 2D version anymore so they are basically giving it away as a bait and switch... hoping you will upgrade to 3D later.

I have used AutoCAD Lite quite a bit through work and another CAD software prior to that which was actually more powerful. My rogue copy of AutoCAD I had would not load to my new computer I bought about 4 or 5 years back so had not used it recently.

This ViaCAD software is very similar, and uses many of the same Control+letter shortcuts. It also opens my old drawing created in AutoCAD and I can work on them which is very useful.

It's taking me a while to figure it out, but yesterday I did a full on fictitious engineering drawing with all the bells and whistles using layers, pen colours and weight, dimensions and text etc..

It has a nearly 500 page .pdf manual, and 6 or 7 training videos that are in the drop down under the Help tab.

It actually has a whole Architecture mode you can use. I've not played with that yet, but did a quick look and appears like it would do a good job. I'll look a little deeper when I get a chance.

I'm pretty happy with it so far, and would have been if I had paid the $70 for it. I think I preferred AutoCAD as it was less complicated. Like many software packages they may have loaded too many features into it, which can make it over whelming, but for under $3.00 I'm amazingly pleased with it.

Those rescued due being under prepared should bear the cost of their rescue. Who goes onto a mountain with a phone as a navigation aid? The satnav on the phone will not tell you that you are about to walk off a cliff. The contour lines on a paper map will. Maps never fail, phones run out of power. Maps and compass reliable. Phones not.

Dear Prince Phillip

"Bud" or "Buddy" is now used more often in this modern day.Black taxi drivers used to say "Guvnor" to their passengers but I don't know if this is still used by them as a form of address.Americans say "Sir" which sounds far more respectful.

Talking of printers (which we were a day or so ago), mine took a dump today... sounds like someone threw a spanner into all the gears. Only getting half of the print printing and some colours not printing at all. Tried all I can think of to fix it, but think a new one is on the cards.

Most annoying thing is I just replenished most of the ink cartridges (which cost more than a new printer) will be going in the recycle dump with the printer.

As an aside, I just looked on-line and all the ones I'm interested in are sold out... must be another side effect of working from home/lockdown.

Same here, plus they seem to corrode themselves onto the hose pipe fitting, and the only way to get them off if with a hack saw carefully trying not to damage the hose fitting.

Went to the store and picked up a new printer. It was just about the only one available at their warehouse. All the rest completely sold out with no restock date.

Ironically it is basically the same one I've had other than a new model number and a slightly different touch screen. The good news is it takes the same ink cartridges as my old one, so pulled them out prior to dumping as they were all pretty full.

It bit more than I wanted to pay, but hey... beggars can't be choosers.

I spent about 4 hours playing with the Architecture mode. I found it a bit hoaky really. Not as intuitive as the engineering mode.

Very basic, and I'm sure would work if you were just doing floor plans. Has a very limited selection of tools from what I could tell... basically just walls, door and windows. No toilets, bath tubs etc. templates.

Again, for under $3.00 what do you expect!

Cheer up, it's only rock n roll. ;)

One of the most bizarre gigs I did (and there were many), was at a club in Valencia, where there were scantily clad lovelies on trapeze swinging over the stage. Quite put me off my stroke..

Idiots not wearing masks

One young maskless woman in Camden said she believed it was her human right not to wear a mask.

ďIíve seen a lot of animosity for people like me who arenít wearing masks,Ē she said. ďBut as long as we respect each otherís space I think it is OK not to wear a mask. I have a strong belief in God and I believe that the virus wonít touch me or if it does I wonít be badly affected.Ē

I donít often wish ill on anyone but some deserve it

I'm 100% a mask wearer, and despise people who do not, or will not, wear one in public, but.... I have to respect their freedom to not wear one.

I do believe in Darwinism though, and I am beginning to see people here in the US that had this "no mask" belief get sick. Also more and more people actually wearing masks... it's a slow evolution, but it's getting there.

As I've alluded to before, it's like smoking, seat belts, helmets etc., it took years to implement changes in people's thinking... I put wearing a mask in the same category, and people will not buy into it in such a short time.

Thank you for visiting the TV Licensing website. Our website is temporarily unavailable while we update it for the changes to over 75 licences.

Why can they not be specific about the numbers that are stopping me looking at my DD arrangements?

Is someone going to bite so I can say whoosh?

Itís not quite the same though is it. Wearing a mask isnít to protect you, itís to protect others.

Not wearing a mask says you donít give a shit about others.

But yes, it was something I had done apparently that caused the issue.... :wallbash:

Can't she put her own phone onto roaming to check her weather app?

I dont mind 50mph in roadworks you understand that as its safty of the roadworkers and alao safer for those idoits who crash in roadworks. I mean the roads that are main dual carriageways that have been 70mph speed limits for years, have below average accidents per year but now are all covered with 50mph average speed cammeras.

I thought it was just me.

Twice in a few weeks one of their things has broken on me. The first one took the socket on the hose reel with it and I had to bin the whole hose. Now I've got a snapped off Hozelock adapter stuck to a tap with a rusty screw and I'm going to have to use level 5 spells to get it off.

''So if you’re dissatisfied with your phone, you can return it in an unused
condition within 14 days from receipt'' How are you supposed to know if you are dissatisfied if you haven't used it!!!!!

This still bugs me. People who say ‘underestimate’ when they mean ‘overestimate’.

"You cannot underestimate the work that's required to get the ground at Aigburth up to speed," chief executive Daniel Gidney told BBC Radio Lancashire.

You’ve just said the exact opposite of what you meant, mate. And you’re the Chief Executive.

Either that or he's used "cannot" when he meant "should not".

Similar women in The USA are being referrd to as 'Karens' I understand.

Although the 'Karens' are supposedly white, middle class racist women who have a tendancy to phone the police if a black person appears in their neighbourhood.

They like to confront protesters, make a big point about the freedom to not wear masks etc..

And they don't like being called 'Karen' in much the same way as gammoners don't like that term.

Have a read..

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-53588201

There is an hilarious tweet where some virtue signaller protests to a tweeter for using the term 'Karen' when he is actually replying to someone called Karen.

Yep and I didnít realise that one of the reasons you get roadworks with no one working is to get people used to it THEN put the workers out as it is much safer. Thanks Mr speed awareness course

The b'stards still owe me for 11 months of my old cancelled licence from my previous address. 4 months ago.

Yes... well not on her own - I had to tell her to turn Wi-Fi off so that the cellular took over and she could open the Apps.

She has never quite got her head around the concept that our wi-fi doesn't extent beyond 20 feet from the house, or the cellular works in our house.

But to be fair, it used to confuse me when this all started.

I've only ever used AutoCAD Lite, which I don't recall having an Architecture mode. If you have the full blow AutoCAD I would preserve with teaching yourself that.

If you are starting from scratch this viaCAD for the price might be an option, but bottom line I would stick with AutoCAD.
