Yes, they are related. There is a whole clan of Cromarties if you search - there was a big article in SI a few months back about them all!

Yep, that's basically it. You want a guy who can step into the role in year 2 or maybe earlier and be there for a fair few years, like Eli, Peyton, and the like.

I'm not sure he is a franchise QB but he'll be seen by some teams in the top 10 as being the solution.

I think the Falcons might take him but with the guaranteed money they are losing on Vick they can't afford too much. I was speaking to a Falcons fan last night who hopes Vick comes back after prison and takes over the QB job again...!

Thanks for that.

Vick, is that the dog fighting one?

Chester 11-04-2008 04:18 PM

Yep Vic was the dog fighting one.

Im not sure i see Ryan as a franchise QB but this is the Falcons we are talking about. The team is one of the most mismanaged and under achieving in all of American sport. In fact apart from the boom of the Braves the whole city of Atlanta is sportswise

pauldrulez 11-04-2008 04:43 PM

A lot of places have Ryan going at 3. But most of these websites were saying 2/3 weeks ago that Ryan was never going to be a Franchise QB. Shows how they change their opinions.

AddiscombeEagle 11-04-2008 04:51 PM

How did people on here if you are not from America decide what team to follow?

I have only got really got into it within the last six months or so and have taken a liking to the Baltimore Ravens due to a programme I watched on Ray Lewis.

elliott 11-04-2008 05:00 PM

That seems a good enough reason.

I picked the winner of the first game I watched (the way I do all new sports teams).

My views exactly.

Philadelphia surely has to be the most underachieving city for sports. They suck bad at everything. And have done for ages.

Possibly a bit harsh on the Dominique Wilkins-era Hawks.

Personally it makes you feel sorry for Arthur Blank. He seems like a pretty decent man, although he's certainly naive in some ways.

And no titles in Philly since the 1983 76ers if iirc.

I'm a Patriots fan solely on the fact the have "England" in their name! Yes, when I was young and impressionable, things like that counted!

I went to a Ravens game last year, nice stadium, shame they got blown away by the Colts in the first quarter!

Family in Seattle so follow the Seahawks as well as Mariners in MLB and the soon to departed Sonics in NBA.

pauldrulez 11-04-2008 11:22 PM

Same as saxoneagle for me. I was lucky in that I started watching NFL when I was 9 in 1999. So I got there just before the Patriots became the best :D Lucky for me. For me it was a choice between the Eagles and the Patriots but England meant more to me than Palace at that point even though I had been going to Palace for 5 years ad been to 10 grounds and Wembley twice.
Still look out for the Eagles every so often but Pats fan more than any other.

saxoneagle 11-04-2008 11:49 PM

Even with the name Eagles, I could never support Philly. They're the NFL equivalent of Millwall.

pauldrulez 11-04-2008 11:55 PM

Exactly, but I didnt know that then so Eagles would have been all that it meant. I'm patriotic about being English still so I will stick with the Patriots. :D SUPERBOWL WINNERS 09

I don't think it's a case of 'falling through'. They'll negotiate with a few players to see who offers them the best value at the number one overall pick. The fact that Jake is up first could very easily be a bluff on the part of Team Ireland/Parcells.

USA Today Sports Weekly reckon Miami will negotiate terms with the two Longs and Glenn Dorsey before making their final decision on which of the three to take closer to draft day.

Am a Redskins fan. First game I saw was in 1988 and they lost, but in the crowd were a group of blokes wearing floral dresses and pig noses. They were having a right old laugh despite the defeat - they're known as The Hogettes

I thought, that mob will do me :)

pauldrulez 13-04-2008 04:29 PM

I dont think Parcells will know who to go for yet. He will probably be between 2 which I would imagine are the Longs. There is a difficult choice for him but it depends on how much they are willing to sacrifice on the player.

Fixture schedule announced tomorrow afternoon EST! :D

pauldrulez 14-04-2008 10:09 PM

Good. I am planning on going to Boston this Xmas or the one after so I am hoping to go to Foxborough and watch them.

Benzhiyi 14-04-2008 10:16 PM

Hoping for a Miami home game on a Sunday followed by a Washington game on a Monday... means Nookiebear and I can take in both our teams in one trip.

What time EST, Saxoneagle?

I'll be in Boston in about seven weeks, Paul... I'll make sure to curse under my breath whenever I see any Pats merch. ;)
