Dallas are massively interested. Which sums up Jerry Jones. And his opinion on Romo...

I have heard same. Maybe Romo has been the problem all along. Maybe Garrett isn't convinced. Maybe he is struggling with the injury. Interesting.

saxoneagle 25-02-2011 08:00 PM

Maybe Jerry is the problem :p

jazman 25-02-2011 08:03 PM

:D :o

He is inspired by his hero Al Davis ;)

saxoneagle 25-02-2011 08:04 PM

So he's going to draft a fast receiver who can't catch? That'll help Homo :p

He's already got Roy Williams!

Romo is good enough really, give him a running game and a good D and he can win a superbowl :(

pauldrulez 25-02-2011 08:57 PM

You've just described Mark Sanchez and the New York Jets.

Give him a Running game and a good D, he'll get to the AFC Championship Game.

Take away the running game and he'll get fumble or get intercepted.

jazman 25-02-2011 09:54 PM

Not as if Romo has not had the time. Plenty of QBs would have fallen by the wayside by now ... I have faith that he will come good and get us to a SB, he's not getting any younger, but does he really have it in him? Yes, I think he does ...

I forgot how dull the OLine combine stuff is.

Dallas sounding really hot for Cam Newton. Panthers to trade down to 9th for a couple of 2nd round picks, this year and next?

What would you say to their first rounder and Tony Romo?

Just out of interest of course?

Interesting view I read yesterday is that the Jerry Jones and the Cowboys press office is working overtime just to remind people that they are still around and simply attention seeking ... not the silliest thing I have read in recent weeks.

I think the Panthers would bite their hands off. If it's to get Cam, would be a highly risky move IMO. I still think the Panthers are going to try and install an NFL ready QB rather than draft one.

But as jazman says, there's a lot if cat and mouse and bluffing going on.

Sorry, been away for a while. However I don't understand how this wouldn't be the case here for any GM with any sense. I think maybe people are annoyed Gabbert hasn't come to the combine, but without watching College football from everything I've read Newton is a massive risk and I don;t buy how he tried to wriggle out of some of his comments yesterday, he has the potential to have a serious attitude issue. Too dangerous for me to think he'd go right at the top.

What about Hasselback for a year? You then have another year to see Clausen and if it all blows up, you get Andrew Luck next year.

Vince Hilaire's Afro 27-02-2011 01:38 PM

Yes, Hasselback, Vince Young or Donovan McNabb would all be a good move IMO. McNabb and Hasselback as short term fixes/mentors for Clausen and Pike, Vince Young could stick around for a while though of course his temperament is a bit suspect.

Swanny32 27-02-2011 01:51 PM

A player like Hasselbeck would arguably be on less money than a first round QB as well.

ardeo 27-02-2011 03:39 PM

Cam Newton is doing his thing at the combine shortly!

Been watching his camera, no idea how well he's doing really, nice 40 and broad jump but other than those stats its hard to say if he's done well. Don't think his position will be changed today at all no matter what.

Swanny32 27-02-2011 06:27 PM

Mike Mayock and co aren't all that impressed with his deep throws on a go route and on short outs as well. If they can see it then the coaches and scouts there can as well which doesn't bode well for Cam.

OSU receiver Sanzenbacher made a superb catch on the out routes though!

ardeo 27-02-2011 06:58 PM

i liked watching the quick catching drill, where they run across catching passes thrown from opposite directions
