I often watched them shuckling before and during the flight and mused that maybe they thought enough praying would preclude them of any danger and therefore all the standing up shenanigans was perfectly safe. |

Plane was full of them. I believe they were English and had been to some sort of conference in NY. And yes, their behavior was to me, who had never seen this sort of stuff before, very bizarre, and my wife is Jewish and I've been to a lot of Jewish religious ceremonies - but obviously very reformed ones judging by this experience. As CT says the whole top hat in boxes in the bins was comical, and it was the first time I had seen the little leather box thing being put on their heads and leather straps wrapped around their arms. What I found scary was they all seemed to jump up and do this at once... I believe it was to coincide with the sun-rise. As a novice at seeing this, it did cross my mind that they were some sort of terrorist cult who were working themselves up into a frenzy to take over the plane! |

That couple near me with 6 bags actually took up two whole luggage bins. |

Oh go on then. My booked trip was Sydney-San Francisco-Sacramento. Then I was getting the train from Sac to San Jose, and finally the flight back was San Fran to Sydney. All flights with United. First off UA cancelled the SF to Sac flight; not that much of a biggie, so I just arranged to get the train to Sac instead. Then, on the Sunday evening, the day before the Syd-SF flight for which I was already checked in, UA texted me to say that flight had now been cancelled too, so they'd rebooked me on a Syd to LA flight, with then a transfer flight from LA to SF (which was useless to me, as it was Sacramento I was going to). In the same communication, UA also advised that the Syd-LA flight was already delayed by 4 hours due to the crew not having enough rest. So I couldn't have made the LA-SF connection they'd booked me on anyway, because at LA I'd have to go through Customs / Immigration, collect my luggage, go to a different terminal and check in again. That wouldn't work, so I just booked a separate flight with a different airline from LA to Sac which worked fine for me for timings, by if course was added expense. This all happened on the Sunday evening, when I couldn't call the travel agent, nor UA, whose number was unavailable. Except when I checked my bag in for the LA flight, they told me that if I didn't get on the LA-SF flight, it might affect my flight home to Syd, as a no-show would make them cancel the whole booking. They couldn't take me off the LA-SF flight at the airport, instead I would have to find the UA people at LA and get them to do it, thus adding even more time. I explained that wouldn't work, so I then had to spend 50 minutes on the phone to UA, while still waiting at the departure gate, so they could effectively cancel the existing booking (the first flight of which I was about to board) and then re-book me for just SYD-LA and SF-Syd. She told me she thought she could do it, but that was a bloody stressful call! Luckily, she managed to do it. The 50 minute delay for the flight home today was small beer by comparison. So in a nutshell, UA cancelled 2 of the 3 flights I'd originally booked, delayed the 3rd a bit, delayed the rebooked flight to another destination by >4 hours, and booked me on a useless connection which I had no chance of making. I will never fly with them again unless I really have no alternative. Should have known with a name like that they'd be wankers. Glad you asked? :D |
Yes love listening to others travel misery, makes me feel not alone :)
But then when you get the selfish behaviour ON TOP of this, that’s when I get my air rage hat on ( I don’t store it in the overhead bin before you ask) |

Could they just say they are not going to pay? Flights over, what are the crew going to do?
Would love if all the airlines did this. Also getting up before the belt sign goes off gets another fine. |

And, rather than the normal complaint, specifically Facebook ads for something you decide you actually want, but then when you click on it that product is not available. |

Consistently the worst airline ever. If you can be bothered (I wouldn't bother tbh) to check back to Dec on this thread, you'll find a similar United Airlines catalogue of failures to provide any sort of reasonable service that resembles a professional, global, airline. |

Surprisingly, AA has gone up and last time I used them I was genuinely surprised |

They normally cover their backsides by saying I asked and announcements were made and the walking freight did not listen, blah blah blah With regards to the fine for carry on bags, I am sure the rest of the airline will bring it in, only matter of time |
If I was a pilot I would do an emergency stop every time. That’ll soon learn em

Still Thxis and their insane brains. 'Educated' to believe they are perfect, but yet they are actually morally bankrupt. Never stop lying , scamming and stealing, but believe in their insane state that everything they say is true. Believe they can do no wrong, believe they are supremely intelligent on everything yet have the IQ of a doughnut and know nothing at all. Believe foreigners are stupid, worthless and beneath them.
Believe that if you stand up for yourself or raise your voice when you've had enough of trying to reason with insanity that you are evil. All followed by sycophantic and sociopathic bowing and fake smiles or insane laughing believing that makes them kind people. Why the xxxx did I ever have to meet one ? Apologies to the couple of percent that aren't like this. |

Thanks. It's been shitty for about 8 years or so now. The only solution is to leave and walk away from 2 kids. Not sure I can do that. Although it won't be much different as I virtually never see them due to the insane freaks anyway. |

Tim Fearon talking about rubber dingy migrants as the most vulnerable people in the world. Try having mental health problems and sleeping on the streets of London.

Apparently does when you are talking about migrants.

I hear the passengers on the first class seats on these rubber dingy's often get extra legroom, a wider seat with a more exaggerated recline, a blanket and a pillow, a plush amenity kit, beverage service that includes alcohol, food, the whole shebang. Then they reach landfall, get lounge access. No wonder these migrants, risk everything for a ride on these boats, by leaving everything behind like their houses, loved one's, risk their own lives just to be on the jolly rubber dingy |

It's only taken them 41 years to smarten the place up since we left there. We weren't that bad. |
Having to pay around 40 quid as a bribe to have my car pass the MOT emissions test.
(first a local garage and next a full up KIA dealership/service centre both tested the emissions and found nothing wrong. Take the car to the MOT centre and surprise surprise (not!) it fails.) |

Mr Reyes, a Venezuelan, is far from alone. Around him, dozens of other migrants were huddled in small groups within two blocks of El Paso's downtown core, including women and young children left sleeping rough in temperatures that dip to below zero at night
MIGRANT ... not refugee.. I really don't see any point Peter H feels he has by posting the link? .... something about mental issues when the link has none? Really his only reason for leaving is he wants to .... fair enough but the US public also have a right to say thanks but there are borders and rules in place ! |

What is this 'international law' you have mentioned? As Maz and I immediately gauged, your post was directly related to you being annoyed by illegal migrants. It would suggest that problem lies somewhere deep within yourself. Maybe the chap will have an epithany, realise that you (and others) are aggravated by this, and turn around and walk back. |

I'm annoyed by your pointless post! |
You don't believe in Law ... borders .... countries....democracy obviously out too!
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Che-Guevara...03150315&psc=1 |
And FWIW, it is not that short a step for people that get annoyed by illegal migrants, and want drastic action taken, to also get annoyed by homeless people with mental issues.
After all, one is neither a migrant or a homeless person, and if I can pull myself up by my braces then so should these types. A touch of humanity and an understanding of what is happening in other places tends to help. |

Countries have their own laws, and there is an international law that protects refugees (supposedly). |

They have served to show you up as rabidly anti-immigrant, and underlines the main reason you voted Brexit. Your original post is not at all pointless because it has done the BBS a service. We can ignore any other bluff and blunder from you on the Brexit thread. Any pretence at neutrality or playing devil's advocate can be dispensed with at once. Thanks for that. |
