Kent beat Essex last night by 28 runs on DLS.

We batted first and scored 167-9. After the way we started I would have liked more. In reply Essex were 31-4 after five overs when they went off becasue of nearby lightning and then it rained and they didn't resume.

The crowd at the Oval (excluding pavilion) for T20 is horrendous. They showed some tart in the crowd chatting up three drunk blokes behind her whilst with her boyfriend and the the boyfriend decided to bite on her breast. The cameraman cut away pretty sharpish but what was seen was seen. :D

A whole new generation of SW-postcode Hooray Henry's and Henrietta's seem to descend on the place for T20 in recent years. Must be the now "grown-up" offspring of the 80s originals.

Another rained off game. Three now means we cannot pull away from Somerset in 5th in the South Group who have two games in hand.

On the flip side, we absolutely blagged a point there. If they’d bowled one more ball (i.e. a full 5 overs), there would have been a result - a Sussex win.

Agree. I would have been annoyed as a Surrey fan if it happened to us. Under those circumstances no one deserved to win. Pity as that game could have gone either way. If Wright stayed they probably would have won but in those conditions who knows what the result would have been.
A point not too bad for Surrey. A win at Glamorgan would see them in a decent position.
We are all looking forward to see Jamieson in the County games. What a difference he could make.

Surrey would have needed a wicket off the next ball to tie, or 2 to win (Mankad or dismissal from a wide / no-ball, followed by another from a legal delivery).

I thought Surrey were at least 20 short when they went 26/5 off the last 5 overs, but turns out it was the beginning of their innings that was the anomaly and they won easily.

Eskinazi continues to score well & it looks like a great team bowling effort by Middx tonight. That Southern group (or at least the top 6) is very tight.

To be fair Olympian2 the North Group is just as tight.

As it stands with 3 / 4 / 5 games left every team could mathematically qualify however Leicestershire are one point away. Hampshire have only played 9 games and could (although I don't think will as they've looked awful) still finish on 15 points.

Nick Gubbins has gone on loan from Middlesex to Hampshire, this will become permanent, while Sam Northeast has gone on a short term loan from Hampshire to Yorkshire.

It sounds like Northeast has had a big falling out as his contract with with Hampshire was ended earlier this week.

After his couple of games at Yorkshire he can then sign anywhere else.

It really is embarrassing how poor Surrey can be at times. They seem to have no depth in their squad. Can't understand how a giant in cricket terms they just seem to let whole seasons just drift by.

As a Hampshire supporter I can’t explain how Hampshire can be so inconsistent too at times. T20 very disappointing and some hefty losses in CC too. Be interesting to see effect of weather on day 4.
