Temporary traffic lights on College Road since the last months..
On the plus side it looks like they are removing speed humps in Dulwich.. unless they will reinstate them after repairs |

That so many of the great London music and theatre venues have disappeared, some to be replaced by inferior buildings. The Donmar and Almeida theatres, Dingwalls, The White Horse in Hampstead, The Astoria, Hammersmith Palais, the Clarendon, the Bull & Gate, Kilburn National, The Rainbow, The Mean Fiddler, The George Robey, Madam Jojo's,The Marquee, The Diorama, The Cricketers, the Windsor Castle, Bagley's. So many. London is poorer for that.
'Saving London's music venues'? You're a bit f*cking late, Mayor Khan. |
'Trophy location'. F*ck off, Savills.

Valentines Day. If you're single you feel miserable, if you're in a relationship you have to fork out a fortune for some rubbish flowers/chocolate/restaurant. A pointless day to keep card companies in business.

Blimey, you did well. Mine was a card, a box from Hotel Chocolat and a gift card from Molton Brown. Mind you, I did get 3 boxes of HC chocs from her and the two cats.

I got the wife **** all, she got me **** all. It's nice when you are first in a relationship etc but after a few years you realise what it is. Will go for a meal and a maybe a night away at the end of the month when things aren't so expensive.
No wonder I don't get any....:D |

I always though valentines day was supposed to be about secret admirers, not the existing couples give me a present/meal/hotel thing it's turned into. People should be sending anonymous cards to single friends to add a bit of excitement to their day. Oh, and two or more to their partner if they have one to see if they fess up... ;)
|
No just like everything else Valentines Day has now been hi jacked by the money making machine, helped along by facebook etc people all trying to out do each other and have perfect lives. (Not too bitter am I?)
|
To be fair, valentines day is probably outdated in it's concept, men buying roses for the woman. Being expected to organise/pay for dinner. Maybe in this era of equality, it should be my wife running me a bath, treating me to dinner and pestering me for sex?
|
Everything is covered in snow now here so valentines day has done me a bit of a favour. Would have probably been as far from the clubhouse as its possible to be by now.

At least he recycles. Chocolate is a gift, gifts are given on occasions, Easter has nothing to do with chocolate. Amen.

Every year I have received a valentines card from a secret admirer but this year nothing.
First my gran dies now this. |
Spent today making sharing/tearing breads, chocolate cheesecakes, brownies, truffles, cherry mousse, cherry jellies and cherry ice cream for 36 couples. I hope it gets someone laid.

If so, you are a biological anomaly, and there's no reason to be proud to have parented a child that licks its own arse. |

Painting - in term of decorating! The most monotonous pile of crap around. How anyone can do it for a living and enjoy is beyond me. Prep, masking up and then painting - dull. Every f—king night the week I’ve done a few hours and now in bed with back pain - bastards!

The way women use the term "man flu" as if they don't milk every ******* illness going.
|
Quote:
The women in our office are always going on about this, whenever they are ill they come in and moan like hell for a day before dropping to deaths door and being unable to come in for the next 2 (maximum before back to work interviews kick in!) yet the blokes in the office always seems to struggle in and never take a day off for colds. Yet the second we make a comment about feeling rough or having a cold it's Manflu and we're acting like babies :wallbash: |

My question for the BBS, in the interest ofequality is this - would this fly if a man used this tenuous reason on compassionate grounds, or would he be laughed at? Are there any male members of the BBS who would (or have) be so bold as to use such an excuse to leave work? I feel it's also a problem for male bosses, who fear being labelled uncaring bastards. |

I don’t have a big problem with this scenario, though would lose a bit of sympathy if it was a regular occurrence. It would also be an appropriate gesture if the person who left early either worked longer on another day to make up for it, or covered a shift for the person who had to work longer to cover for their absence. A bit of give and take at work is wise, in my experience. Whether the person is a man or woman is irrelevant. |
Microsoft Word (specifically the formatting logic)
