Note: If anyone wants to sacrifice their cred for the possibility of getting a mention on Sky Sports this Sunday in the guise of 'Nutter of the Weeek' you can field a team of starters for 17M made entirely from the Jets this week in their trip to the Pats.

(You watch, a Jets-only side will probably beat my hand picked all stars now that I've said this!!)

saxoneagle 13-12-2007 08:14 PM

This week I have a fairly dull team:

QB Romo
RB Peterson
RB Barber
WR Moss
WR Welker
TE Watson
K Gostkowski
D Vikings

Not that I think the Pats are going to rip the Jersey Jets a new ar$ehole or anything... ;)

Might change some of that team actually...

Watching NFL Network online.

Unfortunately my connection is slow, the pic is stop/start, the sound is about 20 seconds ahead of the video and I'm getting annoyed.

:(

elliott 14-12-2007 05:43 PM

If it's winamp there is a setting where you can delay the audio. It's very easy.

saxoneagle 14-12-2007 08:06 PM

I just turned the audio off. Still had my slow connection screwing with the video though!

Roll on Sunday and football on real TV!

Grim Reaper 15-12-2007 10:17 AM

A quick quiz question for you

Which player, since the NFL merger in 1970, has scored the most overtime touchdowns?

It's a famous player, not some obscure one by the way

Benzhiyi 15-12-2007 10:46 AM

I know the answer as it was on NFL Total Access yesterday, so won't spoil it... :)

Strathclyde Eagle 15-12-2007 11:25 AM

I'm going to guess at LaDainian Tomlinson. Off to Google it.

Strathclyde Eagle 15-12-2007 11:29 AM

Can't find the answer. Guess I'll just have to be told!

Cris, I take it you're on Willis McGahee tomorrow? Should imagine he'll run for about 250 yards in all likelihood.

Benzhiyi 15-12-2007 01:34 PM

You're right, Strath. It's LT.

saxoneagle 15-12-2007 02:05 PM

LT, that's pretty impressive considering some that have gone before him.

I wonder which QB has the most winning OT TD passes?

Can't find anything on Google but I'd imagine Favre to be right up there.

saxoneagle 16-12-2007 04:15 AM

49ers third choice QB, Shaun Hill, is making his first start tonight. Through 3 quarters, he is 19 for 24 for 182 yards and 1 TD.

Following on from last week where he came in and got 22 of 27 for 181yds, 1 TD and 0 Int, maybe the 49ers have found a decent QB at last!

Found o/u 82.5 yards

Obviously that's got a fair chance.

Gonna see if I can get a more favourable mark first before betting. Given that Thomas Jones surpassed his target by just 2.5 v Miami, I'm keen to find as low as possible to assist the bet in any way I can.

Strathclyde Eagle 16-12-2007 03:55 PM

Willis McGahee + thank OL + Kyle Boller = big day for the former Cane. Over 82.5 should be easy unless the Fins do the smart thing and bring nine men to the line until Boller shows any signs of having a half-decent game.

elliott 16-12-2007 06:10 PM

Anyone else noticed what happened 35 years ago today???

Miami went 14-0 in the regular season.

jlmatthews 16-12-2007 07:05 PM

Browns playing in a blizzard today!!! :D

I was supposed to go to the game, but when I woke up this morning and had 6 inches of snow on my car... I decided against it.

elliott 16-12-2007 07:24 PM

looks awesome!

Grim Reaper 16-12-2007 07:26 PM

Jets have used 3 QBs in the first 7 minutes!!!

Grim Reaper 16-12-2007 07:28 PM

Got a free £50 from Paddy Power.

Stuck it on Leon Washington the 1st JETS TD at 9/1.

Commentator going ballistic as he broke free and I thought Xmas was paid for.....only for Asante Samuel to run him out of bounds after a 49 yard run.

Still, the bet's still alive and I dare say he'll get plenty of chances from kick off returns!!!

I've now got distracted by Grim's new signature. Do loan signings count?

Think you should turn the life of a fanzine editor into a book sometime Cris. I think you'd make it a good read. :)

Grim Reaper 16-12-2007 08:33 PM

How many times have I toyed with the book idea Strath.

Stupid that I haven't really.

Started on no less than three occasions.

So much I never put in the fanzine that would make for amusing reading. Like the court caseS (plural) and the ex-Palace star shagging my landlady....while he was engaged and playing for England!

Strathclyde Eagle 16-12-2007 08:51 PM

Chris Coleman circa 1992/93 punting for the Browns just then.

Strathclyde Eagle 16-12-2007 08:53 PM

Got the PM. Was way off the mark with any thoughts I had.

Although on seconds thoughts perhaps no surprise that he was a sweets and lollipops merchant. ;)

Strathclyde Eagle 16-12-2007 09:23 PM

Jets threatening to make this a one-score game.

Grim Reaper 16-12-2007 09:41 PM

Jets defense been heroic tonight.

Responsible for just 6 points and no TDs

Gonna lose but I'm praying for no silly play so I can collect on teh Jets +14.5 at 3/1

The torrent of money last MOnday on Jets +27 was obviously very wise indeed.

I've gone for the greedier option and now having to sweat on the outcome. If I'd taken the +27 or even +20.5 today I'd be counting the money already

Grim Reaper 16-12-2007 09:42 PM

Miami could win this tonight

McGahee 7 yards in 2d half

You've stitched me up good and proper Tony!!!

Strathclyde Eagle 16-12-2007 09:52 PM

Without pictures I'm guessing this is one of the Patriots toughest games so far. Brady's stats are horrendous (unusual).

Trying not to get excited about events in Miami.

Strathclyde Eagle 16-12-2007 09:53 PM

Be interesting to see if the Pats decide to try and stick it to the Jets here. Would make sense for them to be smart and run the clock out, get out without any injuries.

Strathclyde Eagle 16-12-2007 09:55 PM

Dolphins lead, Ravens no timeouts left.

KO return for 6?

Benzhiyi 16-12-2007 09:57 PM

Feely kicks out of bounds! Unbelievable.

Strathclyde Eagle 16-12-2007 09:58 PM

Kick-off out of bounds! Ravens ball on the 40.

You'd think they have Hester, Sanders, Sayers and Desmond Howard back there waiting to return it for crying out loud!

Troy Smith has them in FG territory already.

Benzhiyi 16-12-2007 09:59 PM

I can't believe this. :(

Strathclyde Eagle 16-12-2007 10:00 PM

Benzhiyi 16-12-2007 10:02 PM

4th down, one yard line!

Strathclyde Eagle 16-12-2007 10:03 PM

FG - tied at 16.

Benzhiyi 16-12-2007 10:03 PM

Come on Ginny. TD return.

Benzhiyi 16-12-2007 10:04 PM

Feely cost us the game there, by the way. I love him but I if we'd penned them back at the 20 they'd have had a mountain to climb.

Grim Reaper 16-12-2007 10:04 PM

OOOOH the pain in Miami can be felt here in Cleethorpes!!

OT is what I needed to give that plank McGahee the extra time he needs to get the remaining yards.

Told you every yard counts on these bets!!!

Who'd have thought Pennington (as the non-starter) would come on and throw more yards than Brady LESS interceptions and EQUAL touchdowns.

Haven't totted up the final tallies but I know the Jets had more offensive yards when they were 17-7 down.

Quite weird that we were losing for virtually the entire game yet I feel quite uplifted by that effort, especially on defense.

Nice to see there's life in Chad as well :p

3 weeks on the trot my rush bet comes home in the last few mins!!!

Ravens win the coin toss apparently. :(

Strathclyde Eagle 16-12-2007 10:24 PM

Does make you wonder quite why the Ravens have confirmed Bellick for another year when they've been dire lately.

saxoneagle 16-12-2007 10:27 PM

Camarillo stats before that catch - 1 catch for 2 yards ALL season :D

Grim Reaper 16-12-2007 10:28 PM

LT moves up to 7th all time in total touchdowns in only his 7th season (just gone past Walter Payton on 125 who took 13 years and now equal to JIm BRown who took 9 years)

LT AGAIN!!

Currently holds or shares 20 Charger rushing records

Today has become only the 2nd man to rush for 1200+ in each of his first 7 seasons (can you name the other one?)

Now looks like he might get the yards rushing title having looked miles behind Peterson and Parker a few weeks back

2nd in yards from scrimmage behind Westbrook
