Woooh!
Miami win a game (and score 31 points on Chicago!??) |
I was totally excited and shocked by the end of the Cowboys/ Red Skins game! I only saw the last 20 seconds, and that was exciting enough as it was! :D
Do they ever show the Panthers on Sky!? I haven't yet seen them on there! :( |
The Patriots' fans booing Vinatieri last night is the most ridiculous thing I think I've ever heard. Yikes, it isn't like his kicks won them two Super Bowls or anything. Absurd.

cowboys fan for me T.O! |
Some good match-ups today, hoping the Skins can get me two wins in a row against Philly. Hoping these Eagles do lose this weekend :)
Skins have a good recent record against them but the Skins No.30 rated pass defense is likely to take a battering from Philly's No.2 rated pass offense. |
Go Fins.
Quite a few interesting wins today. Watching the Giants game as we speak. Surprised I'm still up though! |
What has happened to the bears?! They've fallen apart from the team who started the season!
|
As I say that the bears pull it back to 13-10 with 35s left in the 2nd
|
Evidently Fins pulled out the trick plays.
The flea flicker to take them to the 1. A ••••ed up reverse to CC which was almost ran in for a fumble recovery TD. Half back pass when we're 2nd & goal on the 4. Why? |

|
Another disapointment for me. I know Cardinals season is a waist, but it would make my season if we could beat Cryboys. But of course Cards choked, and this time it wasn't even close.
A lot of surprises this round. I watched Bolts - Bengals and that was a great game. |
Quote:
|
Redskins and Palace - not one goal or TD for either this weekend :(
|
Great win for the Seahawks, 6 -3 now and have Hass and SA to come back very soon.
|
Pack now 4-5 after mauling the Vikings. Playoffs anyone?:o :clown:

Ronnie Brown so far today... 5 attempts, minus 4 yards and one fumble lost.
|
Time for another Jason Taylor love-fest.
An interception return for a TD, plus a sack and forced fumble in the closing minutes. This guy just does the business, week after week. |
the colts have finally been defeated, by the mighty dallas cowboys tony romo played a blinder! can't wait till thanksgiving
|
How the hell did the Saints pass for 510 yards and lose? Is that some kind of record?
Redskins crap again. Did their usual, wait until they're getting thrashed in the 4th, then spend the last eight mins driving and scoring a late (too late) TD to make the score respectable :( |
Seneca Wallace wouldnt have known a decent decision if it had slapped him in the face yesterday. His last intereception just about sumed up his and the seahawks day yesterday.
They are so irritatingly inconsistent at the moment one week looking like they dont miss Hasselback and Alexander and the next making the Oakland Raiders look like Superbowl Champs. Hoepfully next week both will be back and they can start building towards the playoffs :p |
Quote:
Anyway i missed the last minute of the game after we screwed the 4th and 1. But yes, they are so inconsistant, the defence missed so many tackles yesterday and right now i think we could well end up missing out on the post season. |
215 yards from the Running Back was just madness. Everytime he got the ball he just found hole after hole. The offence is not hte big worry especially with those two coming back but at the moment they couldnt tackle one of the cheerleaders let alone an opposition player.
They should still make the playoffs comfortably but their confidence must but shot. Thought Holdgren was going to string Wallace up by his nuts at the end. His last pass missed any intended receiver by 20 yards. Madness |

Since then Moore has led the team in tackles in our 3 game winning streak since we were stuffed by you. Lewis has 2 INT, 2 FF and 1 FR in that time. T/O have gone 13-3 in our favour and the D in general is playing with some consistent heart (at last). On offense Smith is showing growing maturity in a short time period. with Gore ripping the sh*t outta teams behind a (when fit) very good OL. Just ask the Sea Chicks who gave up 212 yards. Mind you, with Larry Allen and Jonas Jennings lining up against you, the right hand DL may be beat before they start. Yes, of the three teams beaten in the run, one was Detroit (on the road mind) and the SeaChicks had a returning pro bowl HB and were without Hasselbank. Still, it's the signs I was looking for this season that says the Scarlet n Gold are heading in the right direction. Go Niners! :lux: |

I want throwback unis today. I demand them.
Still got my Chris Chambers jersey on though. I love the Dolphins playing on Thanksgiving. :) |
I've got my CC jersey on.
However, Miami will not be wearing throwbacks (confirmed). I've got training tonight, between 6 and 8.30. Booo! |
Miami/Detroit for the early Thanksgiving day game?! poor, very poor!
|
The offensive line play is. I've lost count of the false starts already.
|
Wooh!!!
Training cancelled. Line play is dire. Feel sorry for Downtown Ronnie Brown |
Solid enough win.
Favourite Dolphins employee today... Lacie Randall. (Lucky for me that the Mrs is working. :D) |
Apparently the Falcons owner wants to know why three first round draft picks can't catch the ball. Seems like a pretty reasonable question judging by tonight's evidence.
|
Go Skins woo hoo 4-7 ! :) Defense finally got their act together and JC looks like a decent QB - he actually passes forward, unlike OAP Brunell
I got a feeling the Saints are going to Miami. Brees is the bizzo |
Quote:
Quite funny though. Unfortunately I have to rely on Big Ben as my backup in fantasy. His 9 sacks today probably make up for my last minute drafting of Marty Booker on thursday:bash: |
Did anyone see Vick give the middle finger to the crowd as he walked off the field? Gonna be fined.

Giants lose a 21 point lead to the Titans in the fourth quarter and are now second in NFC West thanks to the Cowboys recent pick up in form. Giants v Cowboys clash coming up. Can't wait!
|
Woooh!
Christmas Day the dolphins are MNF!!! And also I wouldn't be surprised if Fins v Patsies (week 14) is moved, especially if we win next week, however unlikely that is. Please please please please please. Unfortunately we don't have sexy orange jerseys this year (despite us still selling them), so you might actually see Miami wearing crazy aqua! |
Seahawks/Packers on tonight and i have read that there is lots of snow in the Seattle area.
Hope the Seahawks get back to winning ways tonight, even more important that they win as most of the results went there way yesterday in the NFC. |

Is that by 15 minutes? Something to do with national telly in America?
|
Moved from a 1pm to 4.05pm (ET) kick-off I believe. It's on the front page at Finheaven.com.
|
Panthers lost to the Red Skins! :( Not a good result at all! Dropped to second now! Is it the top team from each group that goes onto the next Stage?
|
No.
In each conference there are six postseason teams: Four division winners + Two wildcard teams (the best of the rest). |
Quote:
|
Can possibly be the top three in a division. Even happened in the old days when there were only five play-off teams in a conference, in the 1985 AFC East (Fins, Jets and Pats).
Saw a note in First Down last week that it was the 20th anniversary of the Fins ending the Jets nine game winning streak with a 45-3 win on a Monday night. I remember that - I feel old. :( |
Did anyone hear what Jimmy Kimmel said to Joe Theismann when he was a guest in the booth at the Seattle-Green Bay game?
"Joe, how's the leg?" I don't think Theismann particularly wanted a reminder of that. |
Quote:
Where can you get it? Are there many BCAFL match reports in there? Any of the 2-0 Sabres?;) |
I don't buy it, just flick through it if I see it in Borders or WHSmith.
|
Ha.
|
Another field goal over 60 yards to win a game today, this time by Rob Bironas of Tennessee.
|
Quote:
but I laughed. Kimmel is something else, eh? On less serious note... BENCH GROSSMAN!!!!! |
Someone's done a naughty with Mike Vanderjagt's wikipedia profile:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Vanderjagt "He was last seen working at McDonald [sic] in downtown Dallas, but report [sic] indicated he was release [sic] on his first day on the job. The manager quoted "He kept flipping the patties wide right into the french fry station." |
That's pretty funny. :D
|
It's a good day to be Dolphins fan. :lux:

Yaay!
PoohEAD BVrady and his loser finrends lost!!!! JT is a machine! And my team did really really well!!!! AND i got drungk |

Miami v Bills is absolutely dire.
Horrible weather. |
Sounds like Buffalo.
Jason Taylor with another thread and forced fumble. |
Bad news, good news.
Bad news: Shutout in Buffalo, heading for last place in the AFC East. Silver lining: 4th place team's schedule next year. Hello Oakland and Houston (think we get Cleveland along with the rest of the AFC North). |
normal service is resumed
|
Was just reading through some of the Dolphins-Bills coverage, wondering why we were going for some marginal 4th down opportunities in the first quarter, then see that we had a 64 yard punt that went through the end zone in the second quarter. Guess it was windy in upstate New York today.
|
Bears clinch homefield through playoffs. Shame they'll lose on the second round again :(
|
Quote:
The weather was dire. In the first half the commentators were saying that they wouldn't have let any kicker try and kick those 4th downs. Horrible swirling winds and driving rain. Still doesn't stop them being shit though. Did anyone hear the SNF last night? They went through the KC D players and one of them was home schooled: "Player X, Home Schooled - Thanks Pa! " was what he said. |
Quote:
If so, go those 5-9 Skins :D Ironic result last night for the Skins against the Saints - shite secondary all season, then snuff out pass-crazy Brees when there's no chance of making the play-offs |
Well the scarlet n' gold proved they can play in the wet. Shame Eric Heitman broke his leg, get better soon Eric. :(
I am getting a nice warm feeling about SF for next year. |
dalls have now made the play offs as a wild card, and are looking good as we beat the falcons away from home. got the eagles xmas day should be fun.

The shit teams get to play the shit teams. |
Last season I correctly predicted the Steelers would win the Superbowl, so this year im going for....
the Baltimore Ravens :) |
Ooooooooooooooh.
|
Why exactly is Shockey such a big star? Watched him yesterday and he's just a big lumering man who can catch a bit. Nothing special, as far as I can see.
|
Big mouth more than big ability. Doesn't compare to the great tight ends, e.g. Gates, Gonzalez, Witton.
|
........ and the young and upcoming Vernon Davies.
|
Well pro-bowl teams were announced yesterday.
The scarlet 'n gold have Frank Gore as starting running back for the NFC and Larry Allen too. Not bad considering Allen missed about 5/6 games after getting injured on the 3rd play of his opening game for SF. That said, I think he got there on his reputation, Heitman or Smiley should have gone. That said they had to pick a lineman from us as it has performed pretty darn well this season. Walt Harris (FA CB from Washington..... errrr how good is there secondary :D ) is a first alternative with Mr. SF Bryant Young second alternative. The Niners are making progress. :) Oh, if you haven't heard or seen Frank Gore here he is in action. This is after he has had two knee reconstructions (post college) and two shoulder ops (post last season). Please stay fit Frank the Tank! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lygU_rJ3Fu0 |

(I watched far too much pre-draft coverage on NASN in the spring. Davis really improved his prospects at the combines/workouts.) |
Quote:
You are right about the beast bit though, when he finds his feet he will be too quick for LB's and too strong for CB's and safeties. Mismatches wherever he plays. Excellent! |
|
Although this might be funnier. :D
|
About ten teams still alive in the NFC. There's a slim chance a 7-9 team will get the second wild card.
|
Just seen that Darrent Williams was shot and killed last night after the Broncos' play-off defeat. (Though there's nothing to suggest it was related to that result.)
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/othe...ll/6222695.stm http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/DEN/9901619 Terrible. :( Weirdly (and somewhat trivially), he'd been the starting CB on my Tennessee side on Madden and I released him yesterday while preparing for the 2009 season as he wanted too high a salary to renew. Completely unconnected to reality, but a strange coincidence given the timing. |
Thats terrible.
|
24 years old and a Dad of two. Horrible New Year for those kids.
|
Ahh well, a good progressive year for the 49ers following a very poor start.
Alex Smith played every snap and although his performance could not be descibed as spectacular, has certainly made positive strides. Frank Gore........... enough said. Finally saw some production out of Vernon Davies after a shakey and injury hit start. The OL was pretty impressive, especially with the injury problems they had. The WR were overall pretty average, but had their moments. The D finally showed soem respectability in the 2nd half of the season. Manny Lawson did well converting from DE to OLB in his rookie season. Walt Harris ended with 8 picks, with the secondary demonstrating a growing aggression, in direct contrast to their soft early play. Now here's to a good draft addressing the D primarily with depth to the offense. There's also the small matter of having the $40 odd million dollars under the salary cap. One or two well picked FA acquisitions will make a hell of a difference. |
Looks like the Finns are looking for a new coach then, so who will it be? I reckon they could make a run for Cowher.
|
Not sure what to make of Saban going. Year one seemed good in all respects, but this year has been a disappointment right from the draft IMO. To take a DB with your round 1 pick and have him playing a part-time role on third downs isn't a great initial return, especially if you look at what some of the players taken lower have achieved (i.e. Maroney for one).
|
Actually I've thought about it and the parallels between him and Dowie are frightening, but he's probably worse because he actually said he wasn't going to Alabama. Goodbye and good riddance Nick. :hi:

As long as "Trick play Mularky" goes, I'll be happy. Ruined an offense with some horrible decisions. I love the finheaven recommentations on who will be next. A lot suggest Marino ( ), some suggest Don Strock (who I understand is an OC somewhere). Some suggest Bob Griese! Talk about desperate. I don't know who'll be coming in though, but they need to sort out the QB situation, and some horrible frailties in the side. |

I hope that Jets will make a nice run i the play offs ;)

Quite like the suggestion of Cam Cameron. What I fear is a promotion for Mularkey or Capers (who's been a great DC, but has failed previously as a HC). There's a lot of other potential duffers out there too like Dennis Green and Jim Mora, Jr. If only this had happened a year ago. I'd have loved Scott Linehan to be HC in Miami instead of St. Louis. |
I can't be bothered to look through all 15 pages, but are there any fellow Titans fans present?
I haven't ever met another one before... that is until last weekend. Went to the pub to watch the game (sooo close to that wild card spot) and bumped into a guy over here on holiday for new year. He saw me in my shirt and we got chatting. Was gutted with the result, but from an 0-5 start it would have been a miracle to have made it! |
Two of my best friends are Tites fans.
We give each other abuse quite a lot. |
Was bloody typical I got my McNair shirt about a month before he went
:bash: |

Now I know a natural comeback to that is to say that if Mora was a good head coach, Vick wouldn't be so inconsistent. That's a fair point. But Vick is such a unique player that meshing his talents into a team who want to be a Super Bowl contender would be a challenge for anyone. I don't think Mora would necessarily be the best person for the Fins job, but there are very few outstanding candidates - so I wouldn't say no to him either. (I wouldn't be averse to us drafting a QB in the first round either. Someome will have taken Quinn by that point, and Smith is a Vick-style gamble, so how about Brian Brohm?) |
Mora never adapted the offence towards its strengths. Poor WRs against solid RBs. If I were them I'd have created some kind of 2 RB/2 TE offence and play to those strengths. Don't try and make Vick a conventional quarterback, the last thing is he is conventional! He's a world class athlete, get him out and moving. I guarantee you Urban Meyer (coach at the University of Florida) would do something creative and successful with him.
Throw in the Washington (college) farce that he brought on himself and I wouldn't touch him with a barge poll (And stop being biased because you're running the Falcons on Madden. ;)) Brian Brohm is supposed to be pretty good, as is his coach, Bobby Petrino. Of course whether or not the Fins want to go after another college coach might be a different question right now. Some interesting thoughts I got the PTI podcast from the other day (which I listened to on the train this morning). I'm not sure what to make of Huizenga (Fins owner). While appreciating Dan LeBatard's point that he's previously gone out, negotiated and paid for the best coaches available at the time (Jimmy Johnson and Saban) I thought Tony Kornheiser's points were more valid, namely: 1) Asking for suggestions from the media and fans at a press conference sounds laughable and desperate. 2) This team hasn't been to the play-offs in five seasons. That puts us in a class with the likes of Arizona and Detroit. Say what you like about Wannstedt and Saban, but it was the same guy overseeing it all. 3) There's a whole lot of problems. The offence stinks and the defence is getting really old (especially Taylor and Thomas, the two who deserve success most). 4) We're a laughing stock. :sob: I swear the Fins become more like Palace with every passing year. :bash: (Only with a fan base with no apparent sense of humour) |
