Heh, you should've done. :)
I won my fantasy league by the way - thanks to big performances from Aaron Stecker, Adrian Peterson (the Chi-town version) and Tony Gonzalez last week. Lovely. Nooks, we doing Chicago or Miami in '08? ;) |

I think we need to establish some kind of rotation system. :D

Haven't read this thread for a while but may I hand my congrats to the Pats for their perfect season. :p
Chuffed that the Cowboys are there this season with a great chance of making to the Superbowl for the first time in some years. I do think though that the teams that play in the play offs do get some momentum and our recent form towards the end of the season hasn't been great (losses to both the Eagles and Skins), adding that to a few injury worries doesn't look promising but the rest may help us out there. Good luck to all those in the play offs. I'll stick my neck out and predict that both the Skins and the Giants will make it through in the NFC and the Steelers and the Chargers in the AFC. At the end of the day, I cannot see past a Pats v Colts match in the end but the NFC is pretty open with both the Cowboys and Packers recent stutters. |
Can't see both road teams winning in the NFC. Usually tends to be one or the other, then all the winners on Wild Card weekend get demolished by the teams who have had bye weeks in the conference semis.

Just to give Nookie hope:
In my first season of Madden 08, the Redskins got to the Super Bowl on the back of Todd Collins after Jason Campbell suffered a season-ending injury. They faced the Pats... and won when Tom Brady got knocked out of the game early. Sounds unlikely? In my first season on Madden 07, the Colts beat the Bears in the Super Bowl... |
Billick gone from the Ravens.

Jungle drums are saying that 'Cowher' maybe in Miami :p

Best I get my money on the Skins. I've only played two matches of Madden '07 (life/work balance of 99% work doesn't help) and in the second the Jets beat New England 60-0 :D It's true! Why do yours come true and not mine??? |
Because Ben plays the All-Madden level, while fantasists (like you and me) play on the easiest level. :D
|
I have to admit to finiding it disturbingly easy going up 19-0 (three Tds - I can't master PATs!!!) in the first game I played......until I realised there were four skill levels!!
Still, gotta love the two minute drill segment of the game and constantly see Coles running in TDs v Miami!!! |
Can't believe this.
Did a long post telling Strath that his post about the game lines were not necessarily wrong and that I too thought the Jets woukld be less than -6.5 (good work Tony picking -3!!!) and then I did a lengthy post pointing about Jets LB David Harris finishing 8th in tackles despite only playing 9 games (this guy is the future Urlaacher/Ray Lewis of the NFL!) and neither are on here WTF? |

The good news is that in year 2 - still under Cam, and with John Beck and Ryan Fitzpatrick tussling for the QB position - the Fins are 7-4. :lux: (This is clearly for another thread but hey, us Fins need some cheer!) |
You need to watch that Fake LeBatard(s) clip on YouTube then Ben. It's very funny.
"Parcells is mean to people!" "Why is he indignant? Why is he recalcitrant?" |

I play every Miami game plus one other 'featured' game each week, with every NFL team appearing in the 'featured' game at least once. I also control one game per week in the play-offs (as well as the Miami one if applicable). All other matches are simmed. Last season for instance I controlled Washington in the NFC Championship game (which I won), then New England in the Super Bowl (against Washington, which i lost when Brady got crocked and Cassel proved useless). |

This might be the weakest article I've read in my entire life.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/column...t&lid=tab1pos2 Apparently if you've not made the play-offs this year you shouldn't even turn up next year. Of course we all know that's exactly how the NFL works. :clown: |
That article is poor.
What's amazed me about the reporting of the Dolphins is that no-one mentions the horrendous injury problems we've suffered this year. How can these journos write off John Beck when he was playing for a team devoid of confidence, with no running game, and no targets to throw to? I'm convinced that Ronnie Brown would have won us at least three games as the season wore on had he stayed fit. And I've no doubt the critics would say that we should have prepared for the worse by having a decent back-up in place. We did, in Jesse Chatman, and he got crocked too. To those who say that your entire offence shouldn't be centred on one player, I say this: the Indianapolis Colts wouldn't be going to the Play-offs this year if they'd lost Peyton Manning in game 6. Joseph Addai is good enough to carry them a fair way; Jim Sorgi is not. And the Pats without Brady and/or Moss? Totally different prospect. Wes Welker's a great slot receiver, but never a numero uno. Dante Stallworth? Overrated. And Matt Cassel? Pffft. I'm not saying either side would be 1-15 without their key men. But it's amazing how many journos totally ignore the way in which injuries affect a team's season. |
