Hopefully I will be in the city for the Pats game :)

0-17 in a 16 game season would be more impressive than 16-0, IMO ;) :D

I used to go and watch The Raiders when they were in LA... Was a good day out. I have to say it is odd being at the game when the TV time-outs are on though. Everyone stands around doing nothing waiting for the game to restart.

Plus it is easy to lose sight of who actually has the ball, what with all the "fakes" going on.

SD isn't far, is it? Go and watch the Chargers...

NFC East

Dallas Cowboys
Home: N.Y. Giants, Philadelphia, Washington, San Francisco, Seattle, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Tampa Bay
Away: N.Y. Giants, Philadelphia, Washington, Arizona, St. Louis, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Green Bay

Tough playing the likes of Seattle, Pittsburgh and Green Bay (the latter two both away!)

Hour or so south from LA. Or you can just go a few hours North to San Fran and see the 49ers or Raiders. Flights from LA are dirt cheap if you use southwest.com and its much quicker than driving.

No-one I've talked to can explain that.

In a dome, in warm conditions, under 50 yards... under the pressure, it's not a definite but considering how the Pats were moving the ball, getting it 13 yards was asking a lot. They'd have been better on the previous play going for 5 or 6 yards to Welker on a slant or something than going for a big play to make the FG a little easier.

That would've been a 7 point lead at that stage... :(

I know SD is closer but wasn't sure how close - in 2006 I drove from SF to LA then onto SD, just couldn't remember how long the second leg was! I remember the first leg was about 7 hours but then I took Route 1 :D

Also suggests they have no faith in their kicker.

What if he'd needed to kick a 50 yarder as time expired?

The commentators did mention his biggest kick of the season and it wasnt much over 40 if I heard right. Basically, he would have had to made his biggest kick of the season and beat it by quite a distance and I just guess they thought Brady would be a better option with the ball.

IMO, they should have risked it and just taken the gamble.

Gostkowski's career long is 52 yds... this was a 49 yarder.

Look at Tynes last week - he missed from 30-something yards then nailed a 47 yarder in sh*t weather in Green Bay to win.

You never know.

Even more food for thought is that I bet Vinatieri would've been allowed to kick it even though Gostkowski has (apparently) got a much stronger leg than AV.

His long for the season was 45. He'd hit 21/24 prior to Sunday.

I thought it was an odd call, while they had a lot of success taking such risks all season their offence hadn't struggled to make yardage like this previously and they should have adapted accordingly! Also i found it odd that they didn't seem to call many plays to take advantage of the giants pass rush, i would have expected to see more draws and screens to slow them down a bit. As a pats fan i'm quite gutted especially as the last touchdown was so soft, what was Hobbs doing???

That would be like telling a Palace fan to go and watch Brighton!

It was a bad call from the DC anyway because Burress is about 6in taller and would probably have got above Hobbs on a jump ball anyway.

The reason Hobbs missed it is because Burress sold him on the slant (it was a slant-and-go route) and then came back outside once Hobbs had committed. It was a great piece of WR and QB play.

Personally, I don't agree for two reasons:

1 - You don't have another NFL option, so it's hardly going to see your rivals instead.
2 - Who says you have to cheer for them? Cheer on the opposition, cheer on no-one. I'd rather see a live game SOMEWHERE than nowhere!

A few years back, driving to Bradford, our game was called off so we headed back to Coventry instead as they were playing Br*ght*n. We sat in the Cov end right by the away fans with our Palace shirts on. See... it doesn't have to mean you support SD ;)

Interesting for us Cowfins:

My initial reaction was one of dread, but the more I think about it, the more I reckon it's a good assessment. It means we won't be clinging onto deadwood for two-three years. A roster overhaul doesn't always pay off, but when it does - look at the Saints two years ago - it can be really effective. Perhaps it's good that Parcells is already talking that way.

Hopefully normal service will resume next season and Philly will be NFC East Champs again! :lux: :hi:

I want us to get rid of Taylor, Thomas and Porter, and there are only about 10 players that I actively want to keep. I don't see the point in having players that won't be around in 3 years time. I don't care how bad we suck over the next 3 years, if it means that we get a good young squad in 3 years time ready to dominate.

The logic of the England rugby team after 2003 World Cup rings true I think. If you aren't going to be around for 2007, you are out.

Completely forgot about Seau tbh. Hope no more than 2 of the 3 retire this year. The Wide recievers were awesome this year. I dont really need to say anything about the records broken but Randy is unbelievable with his speed and catching. Brady may well be the best QB of all time but that argument is for another time ;)
