Stubborn as he can't play QB

I wonder if he will turn down this great offer.

The Omaha Beef - $75/game

Quote:

The Beef's current quarterback, James McNear, has led the team to a 5-1 start. He's completing 70 percent of his passes and has thrown for 21 touchdowns against just two interceptions.

McNear is anything but insulted by the Beef's wooing of Tebow. McNear said, "I think Tim can learn a lot from me."
:D :p

So, the decision makers have gone with 360 Architecture for the design of the new Falcons stadium in Atlanta and they are going to pick from 2 designs:

Jags Blackmon is quite the idiot.

I know bugger all about NFL really, but as with all American Sports, always look out for the Minnesota teams.

Vikings got three drafts picks I saw - is that weird? And are the picks good?

Do draft picks usually play a lot first season?

HOW MANY QUESTIONS CAN I ASK?

Not weird as much as unusual. They traded their best WR for an additional 1st round pick and then traded 4 later round picks for the other 1st round pick.

Floyd is a beast and should have been picked sooner. Rhodes is a solid CB. Patterson is the one I'm worried about. He's got skills but needs more seasoning.

If a 1st round pick doesn't play right away (other than occasional QBs), you've picked wrong

It just gets worse for Geno Smith:
Quote:

"He doesn't have much presence, not much of a leader," said another league executive, who spent a great deal of time studying Smith before the draft. "I don't think he's a bad person, but that's not enough to be a quarterback in this league."

Two sources indicated that when Smith went on some visits to teams, rather than interact with coaches and front-office people, he would spend much of his time on his cell phone. Instead of being engaged with team officials, he would be texting friends or reading Twitter or a number of other distracting activities.

"All these other players who were in there were talking to the coaches, trying to get to know people and he was over there by himself," one of the sources said. "That's not what you want out of your quarterback."
I think they left out the part where the "league executive" said he was a perfect fit for the New York Jets.

Next 10 of the Top 100:
Quote:

81 Colin Kaepernick
82 Logan Mankins
83 Lance Briggs
84 Steve Smith
85 Charles Woodson
86 London Fletcher
87 Bernard Pollard
88 Jacoby Jones
89 Cameron Wake
90 Percy Harvin
I have no idea why Jacoby Jones made this list, other than he plays for the Baltimore Ravens.

pauldrulez 03-05-2013 11:14 AM

Wake = too low.

Mankins, Pollard, Briggs = too high.

Jones too high, I think guys just said "Oh yeah, that guy scored 2 TDs in the Super Bowl". Your too high guys might be getting paid back for being too low before. Briggs being behind Urlacher the last 2 years was not right. He's definitely slowing down, and I would say Fletcher too, but that guy still is doing it.

If we go purely on hand size, the Falcons won the draft with Malliciah Goodman.

Miami Dolphins CEO Mike Dee suggested Sunday the Dolphins may have to relocate at some point as a result of Friday's decision by the Florida legislature to reject hearing a referendum that would have provided public renovations to the Dolphins' Sun Life Stadium.

Dee had said last month owner Stephen Ross would not renovate the stadium without a public-private partnership. Ross reiterated that there will be no renovation in an interview with CBS4 in Miami, saying it would be "difficult" to do the renovations on a more limited basis.

Regarding the team's future in Miami, Dee said, "I wouldn't want to prognosticate what the future holds, but it's clearly bleak."

Although Dee said Ross won't move the team, Dee said the next owner could move the team, possibly to Los Angeles. Ross has said he won't sell the team in his lifetime, but Dee didn't rule out a sale during Ross's lifetime.

"The Dolphins are one of the only franchises in the NFL that don't have a long-term lease with their community," Dee said, according to The Palm Beach Post. "At some point, somebody's going to buy the franchise from (Ross), and clearly the stadium is the first thing they would need to address."
I love the good cop/bad cop approach the Dolphins are taking here.

More Top 100 list:
Quote:

71 Trent Richardson
72 Mario Williams
73 Antonio Gates
74 Robert Mathis
75 Brandon Flowers
76 Matthew Stafford
77 Aaron Hernandez
78 Joe Staley
79 Luke Kuechly
80 Dwight Freeney
Even though he had his worst season since his rookie year and shouldn't have gotten back on the list, Antonio Gates isn't happy:
Quote:

Antonio Gates has a simple explanation why he was ranked just 73rd on NFL Network's "Top 100 Players of 2013" countdown. The people who decide such things don't know what they're talking about.

"Apparently they don't watch football," the longtime San Diego Chargers tight end said Thursday on the "Top 100" aftershow. "I understand everybody's opinion. Some people are stats guy, some people are into who catches the touchdowns and passes, who has 100-something catches. A lot of people are not really interested in what the game plan is about."

"It's funny to me because it's a joke in a sense, it's kind of funny."

Just like that, Titus Young might be back out on the street.

The wide receiver needy St. Louis Rams took a chance on Young when they claimed him on waivers after the Detroit Lions dumped him earlier this month. Rob Parker of The Sideline View, and a longtime journalist based in Detroit, reports that the Rams have cut Young.

Parker also reports Young might not play football again. The Rams have not commented, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. At some point, this story will trickle out. No one would be surprised if Young sabotaged what was a fine opportunity with the Rams.
I'm sure he'll land on his feet, after all he is better than Calvin Johnson.
Quote:

He was pulled over at 12:01 a.m. by the Moreno Valley police in Southern California for suspicion of drunk driving, and subsequently arrested for driving under the influence. He was booked at a local detention center, was issued a citation, and was released from custody.

Ah, but we're not done yet. At 2:22 p.m. that very same day, police responded to a tow yard, where Young had been seen jumping over the fence. He was trying to find his black Mustang, which had been impounded upon his first arrest of the day. Young was taken to the same detention center and booked for trying to steal his own car.

Former NFL receiver Titus Young has squandered his talent -- that much is for sure. And at this point, a future in the NFL is least of his worries.

Young, who was released by the Detroit Lions in February after a number of on-field and off-field incidents, was arrested on Friday and charged with burglary, assaulting a police officer, and resisting arrest. This happened after Young was reportedly seen breaking into a San Clemente, Calif. home. When officers arrived Friday night, Lt. Joe Balicki of the Orange County Sheriff's Department told the Detroit News, Young fled on foot and fought with police after he was pursued for a short time. There were no injuries in the fracas. He is being held on $75,000 bail.
Think that proves that he is not better than Calvin Johnson like he claims. No way Megatron gets caught from behind by some coppers.

Enjoy Felix 'Sicknote' Jones ...

Personally, I really like him. But far too injury prone unfortunately. Maybe he'll do a job for you, who knows ...

The new Vikings stadium will have a fixed roof that is transparent.

So it now seems that Calvin Johnson played the majority of last season with a broken finger and possibly as many as three.

Anyone at this Andrew Luck Q&A event in Blackfriars? I'm about halfway up in my (Eagles) Asante Samuel jersey.
