But then Vince has other strong points to his game which Cutler and Leinart don't. Of course Cutler has settled in well at the Broncos with his "Rocket arm" but Leinart since injury seems to have regressed. All three have the "potential" to be great QB's of their draft, but at the moment two of them are perhaps a bit "behind" where they should be in terms of ability considering this is their third seasons.

It's actually quite bad when I'm actually looking forward more to the NFL season than the football season!

If anyone still wants to do the Yahoo draft, I have 4 so far, another 4 would be good :D Have a look back through if you want to do it and the League ID and password should be there.

Will do the draft Tuesday and it will be manually done, so sort your players into the order you want and if you are there or not you get the players you want.

MESSAGE FOR SAXON WHO ALWAYS MISSES IT BY 3 HOURS OR SO :D

If anyone wants to watch a rematch of the Superbowl tonight and watch more sacks against a piss-poor OL and 2 average QBs then visit http://www.myp2pforum.eu/nfl-cfl-afl...thursday.html.

There are other games on there as well.

pauldrulez 29-08-2008 12:58 AM

No Brady again, no real shock there.

Moss is there, No Welker or Merriweather but the OL improves with Light being back.

Apart from Brady, the Pats are back in town.

4 hours time... Patriots 10 Giants 31

pauldrulez 29-08-2008 11:08 AM

Well better than I expected thanks to Kevin O'Connell

19-14 which was 19-0 at one point :sob:. I miss the days of 19-0, its gone full circle and become 0-4. The last time that happened to the Pats was the year I was born.

By the time I get back from Reading, it should be nice to see Cassel being cut with Goots as back-up and O'Connell the rookie as 3rd despite being most impressive so far.

But knowing Belichick anything could happen in the squad, maybe O'Connell might have to go on IR as he stubbed his toe just to accommodate Cassel:rolleyes:

But I'm going with a packed backfield of 5/6 RBs and 7 wideouts chosen due to their versatility meaning only 2 TEs or possibly 1 with a few others used their for blocking.

BRING ON THE REGULAR SEASON AND 16-0:lux: Although I want us to lose as early as possible to get that hurdle out of the way and less pressure on the guys.:moo:

I've decided to save up for the next year and treat myself to a Xmas trip to Boston next year via New York. Will be nice to see the Hall at Patriot Place that has just been built. That means a long wait to see the schedule and everything but looking forward to it.

jazman 29-08-2008 01:51 PM

Is this the pauldrulez thread? ;) :D

pauldrulez 29-08-2008 01:54 PM

Yes.

No-one else posts so I talk to myself.

I feel that way every year.

Paul, Boston is the greatest city in the world. Enjoy it and don't go insane. (I know that's like telling the pope to chill out on the catholicism front, but...) ;)

Cutler > Young. Definitely.

pauldrulez 29-08-2008 06:55 PM

Agree with that Ben, I rate Cutler highly for some reason.

What is there in Boston that makes it great?

Chester 29-08-2008 07:02 PM

Chad Johnson has changed his name to Ocho Cinco apparently :D

Confirmed on CBS during the SD vs. SF game.

Paul, Boston is the historical heartland of the US. It's like an old British city, one of the oldest cities in America. You'll have a great time :)

SD have a British guy on an exchange deal - Jason Brisbane from Kingston Uni. He's done pretty well so far.

Everything. It's just a majestic, beautiful place.

Although one thing that you'll definitely like is it has a world champion sports team that is the pride of New England, who are popular across America and known not only for their sportsmanship, but also their camaraderie.

Boston Red Sox: everything the Patriots aren't.
:lux: :lux: :lux:

pauldrulez 30-08-2008 10:42 AM

And the Revs :D

Didnt our Baltimore team beat them in their Open Cup, or did we lose on Pens to them or something.

Strathclyde Eagle 30-08-2008 01:20 PM

Lost to them on pens. It was the Red Bulls we beat in the round before that.

pauldrulez 31-08-2008 12:59 AM

Merci Strath, wasnt sure.

Down to 53 today, Pats have released theirs just now.

Goots out and Cassel retained. No.2 CB Bryant released also

6 out of the 7 draftees in the 53, 2 starting definitely (Mayo and Wheatley). My Mayo shirt should be arriving soon :D I am very, very high on this guy.

Wheatley as a starter? Not next season. Way too soon. Nickel back at best.
Cassel wants out? If that is true he's contracted so has naff all choice, plus he's done nothing in this league anyway. Who's going to trade for him?

Mediocre draft for the Pats. But it's not like they aren't stacked with talent anyway.

Last year only 2 of our players drafted ended up on the roster by the end of the year - I fear we've had a similarly bad draft.

Oh, to have had the choices that KC made! If that isn't an A grade draft, I'm not sure what is! They've picked up 3 or 4 starters, never mind just making the roster!

Never one to rub it in...

Also, Rudi Johnson and Derek Anderson both released so far.

Saxon, quick piece of trivia. The numbers 24, 55 and 80 have all been left available in the Patriots locker room. Coincidence considering the make up of the squad. 8 WRs, 5 RBs and 3 TEs. Got to be some trading for picks going on if any of them numbers return.

Strathclyde Eagle 31-08-2008 03:36 AM

If 80 was Troy Brown and 55 was Junior Seau, why is Mel Mitchell relevant in these terms?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_Ne...atriots_season

pauldrulez 31-08-2008 10:59 AM

Its not meant to be Mitchell.

24 was Ty Laws number, and as a CB thats the one place with little quality depth
