Erm, he would have been a free agent on the Monday.

He was due a $3m roster bonus against the cap. So they included him in the trade.

Kept away from the Jets, Dolphins and Bills. Also kept away from Colts and Broncos.

And a good but not excellent player.

Yes, and still GAVE him away and only got a 2nd round pick.

FFS Paul, you were WRONG. Not a tough concept, it's the opposite of "right".

pauldrulez 17-04-2009 05:42 PM

I was wrong, but I like the #34 pick anyway. Barwin in 09.

We were screwed by the franchise tag and the cap space and its only after the trade that you realise how much it hurt the team.

Sproles and Peppers are both unsigned still. Panthers are in big trouble with their cap. :hi: Peppers, if he signs.

pauldrulez 17-04-2009 05:43 PM

And, i'll say it again.

I was wrong.

I was wrong on that prediction.

But right that he would be franchised and traded. A moral victory/loss.

Touche!

I'd like a few bets this year too;

1. There will be a man or two in space before the year is out
2. A horse will win the Grand national
3. Ferrari will lodge an appeal before the end of the season
4. Palace will lose another game before the end of the season
5. A team from the AFC and a team from the NFC will contest the Superbowl next season ...

Book 'em Dano ... ;)

You're learning from Paul :p

pauldrulez 17-04-2009 06:49 PM

I'll go for some more predictions then:

The Chiefs win more games than the Cowboys. (Take it back, hard schedule). But I predict they beat the Cowboys and make the playoffs.

I'd like to place a bet that the Patriots select at least 3 times before the Cowboys in the Draft.

They'll also select Pat White with either #47 or #58.

And get either Peppers or Taylor.

They might as well hand us the trophy.

pauldrulez 17-04-2009 06:53 PM

You can continue your attempts to wind me up though.

Worst predictions:
At least a first round pick for Cassel (I was closer than Schefter was)
Redskins to Superbowl
Cassel SB43 MVP
Cassel should be cut (everyone was saying it though)

Best predictions (just a couple of them);):
Week 1 saying Cassel could do a good job with the system around him.
He would be franchised and traded
Ayers would move from a 3rd round pick up to a first round pick after the Combine.

pauldrulez 17-04-2009 08:15 PM

Jason Peters will likely be a Philadelphia Eagle next year.

Bills receive a 1st (28), 4th and conditional 2010 pick.

Depending on the conditions, that is a great deal for the Eagles and removes their top need in this Draft as the majority of good Tackles(The Smiths, Monroe, Oher and Britton) will be gone by #21.

jazman 17-04-2009 09:19 PM

Paul, you really have to learn. You have far more knowledge than me on NFL due to the huge amount of time you clearly have on your hands. You can blind me with science fella all you want, at the end of the day, I'll enjoy watching NFL and supporting the Cowboys but if we don't get into the play offs and/or Superbowl or even if we don't go 19-0 I won't shed a tear and lose sleep over it. Yes, I won't be pleased about it but hey, if your team ain't good enough you get on with it. We know that being Palace fans only too well. Yes, Cowboys are my team, a team that I have no connection with other than picking a team with my cold man when the C4 coverage began in the 80s. I have never been to the States yet either, let alone Texas. I'll continue to enjoy NFL as I do other sports but I refuse to start talking as much bollocks as you do on here. I have a life to get on with thank you :p

pauldrulez 17-04-2009 09:42 PM

I'll talk as much bollocks as I like.

I enjoy it.

In fact, I do it so much it will be on my tombstone.

I'm not slagging you off, don't get offended. It was the Cowboys.

If I wanted to pick on a team on here, it would be the Jets, but they are too easy so I go for the Cowboys. Can't go for the Feesh because they are technically better than the Bradyless Patriots. I like the Redskins. And the Eagles.

I might just spend time on the other threads rather than this one. It gets too serious and heated.

I can't post a comedy photo like I do on other ones.

So i'll point towards a photo of a team failing. A team that had to fail on the biggest stage of them all. A team that had to lose to stop the NFL having a team that cheated and ran up the score from being the most dominant team ever.

I want that message tattooed on my arm.

pauldrulez 17-04-2009 09:46 PM

And yes, I probably do take it all too seriously, but I take shots at Palace, the Patriots and other things (Alonso-F1) too seriously if directed, even partially towards me which leads me to defend them. Possibly too much.

But with things that I take an interest in, whether at the age of 3 as a Palace fan or the age of 9 as an NFL and new ENGLAND fan as I called it back then, I feel like I might as well take a full interest and learn everything about it rather than just a slight interest like most people do.

I think i'm too obsessional with things :o :p

jazman 17-04-2009 09:52 PM

I'm far from offended Paul. If you are having a go at the Cowboys to try and wind me up you really haven't got a clue. It doesn't get heated on this thread at all, healthy discussion and all that is fine but you have to admit that if there such a discussion, you are in the thick of it ... :D

pauldrulez 17-04-2009 10:08 PM

Of course i'm in the middle of it. I try to wind you all up at times.

But, taking shots at the Cowboys is enjoyable as there is or should I say was always someone to take a shot at.

"He's my quarterback"

jazman 17-04-2009 10:15 PM

Yes, true, the Cowboys have always been and always will be that team. It has a lot to do with the 'America's Team' tag ....

pauldrulez 17-04-2009 10:39 PM

I took the cheating jibes on other sites (didn't use the BBS for a long time until last year for one reason or another, forgot it was here really), and it rubbed me up the wrong way, but the Pats kept winning and it was only the SB loss that brought everything back up from fans on all sides.

But, it could be worse. Could be an Oakland fan. Although, being a Palace fan. A mediocre middle-of-the-road season is depressing enough rather than having all my supported teams being useless.

jazman 17-04-2009 10:45 PM

An accusation of 'cheating' is a hard pill to swallow as a fan whether or not it is true ... it's hard to justify following a team that could be found to be embroiled in such a low tactic ...

My enjoyment of NFL in the past two years since I actively joined this thread have not coincided with a Cowboys resurgence which in one way is a good thing as I hope that is it something that will happen again in the near future. Admitadly the glamour of the team maybe attracted me initially in the 80s but all I would say is that both me and my old man did not do any research into the game at all. Just watched the first live game (can't recall who it was) and we decided which team to go for from that point on. Luckily enough, we both chose teams that were on to enjoy plenty of glory soon enough ...

As for Palace, well, that's why we have other sports to take us away from the mediocre. It's been a bit of a lull in recent years so our time will come again soon, I'm certain of it.

sLlll 18-04-2009 12:55 AM

Jazman is the king.

Cowboys will win Superbowl next year :p

Paul, go back to winding up pathetic clowns.

Alonso is a c unt :D
