But it is the original line-up.... £75 is very steep and I'll also give it a swerve and wait for The Captain to join Slider for a number or two in the lower tier concourse at some point.

A bloke who wants to be a pilot on the BBC but can’t pronounce TH “dis is flight free free free from Fursk at free fousand feet.” How are second language ATC’s supposed to understand that. Amazed he got on the course.

Jonboy 27-10-2020 05:52 PM

How the accusation of using google defeats an argument. e.g.

Poster A: posts some load of old rubbish ...
Poster B: well yes, apart form fact a), fact b) and fact c).
Poster A: you just googled that.

A mate of mine (palace fan) is a pilot for British Airways. He's got one of those cockney accents that rarely exist anymore and that middle class snobs think is a sign of being fick. When he gets behind the mic to introduce himself to the passengers he's a totally different sounding individual. He'd give Prince Charles a run for his money on who had the most priviledged background. He told me that BA insisted he curb his accent. When he'd fly into NY he'd always take in a Palace match in Manhattan. One morning I was talking to a Palace fan who said he'd flown in the night before and he'd had a bad landing experience and they were kept on the plane for an hour. I put two and two together and asked my mate if he flew in the flight that landed at ten the night before. "Fackin right I did," he said, "it was going to be the best fackin landing I did in years 'til the bleedin tyre burst." The Palace tourist wasn't convinced it was the same fellow who was telling the passengers to remain calm in uppity tones the night before.

My 2 year old son and wife (who has no co-ordination or common sense), who between them are slowly chipping and damaging everything in our house. Good thing is I’ve given up on Diy - no point with them wrecking everything!

It goes without saying, but one of the Kardashian bints has expressed "humility" at being able to hire a private island to treat its "inner circle" to its 40th birthday party. The slaves looking after them had to wear masks, though.

On shit unfunny DJ's laughing at their own unfunny jokes Zoe ******* Ball, absolutely awful, soooo fake and insincere. Does anyway honestly like her?

I can't believe Zoe Ball is still in a job - she is as unlistenable as Jeremy Vine. Completely agree that Sara Cox should have got the job - she is way better.

On the subject of women talking shit on bbc radio, wcb I know will be pleased to note a 'newsbeat' story featuring in the main headlines of the BBC News page (there's a whole other topic).

Lily Allen: 'Women masturbating in a relationship isn't wrong'

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-54712504

"It wasn't until I committed to masturbation, self love and ultimately sex toys that I considered my own needs. And I'm in a much healthier place now at the grand old age of 35"

Well done.

BTW the kardashians should bake under a pyre of burning azer rocks, sorry for being antisemitic or whatever.

Indeed. It's polite to wait and good part of being in a relationship.

foresthillbilly 28-10-2020 07:07 PM

TV in general. It got really noticeable with excessive quiz shows, then Loose Women and poor news coverage.
Meeja seemingly not holding UK politicians to account. Didn't Covid19 save Priti Patels huge fat @r5e from the workplace bullying probe ? And BJ giving away public funds to that American "business woman" he nobbed when he was Mayor. ?
And Dianne Abbot, that huge liability to any reasonable political opposition to the Tory Government.

Just hugely fed up of a lack of independent Media, to hold people to account.

Maz 28-10-2020 07:11 PM

If it helps, I don’t believe it is mandatory to watch Loose Women.

PeterH 28-10-2020 07:12 PM

I am bemused by the Kardishans and similar.

There are many programmes on cable channels of families living in multiple bug houses etc. all due to having their outlandish lives, often quite falsely, transmitted to the world. The gypsy marriage ones and the like where every episode seems to involve the female members getting together for a punch up.

I can vacantly watch them for 15 minute sessions before doing something else. Usually settling the remote on the Las Vegas pawn shop or someone living in a cabin in Alaska.

Maz 28-10-2020 07:13 PM

Does this work with other winners of trophies?

‘THE PRIDE OF THE COMMUNITY SHIELD’.

‘THE PRIDE OF THE CHECK-A-TRADE CUP’

Stop shouting as well ya ****

"Direct, dangerous and deadly!" That was Martin Tyler, so he can be forgiven (within reason). I'd much rather him than the trying-too-hard "That's a sumptuous finish!" Peter Drury that always says the same thing about every Citeh goal.

I would probably recognise Kim, if she had some sort of real life filter on so she looked like her pictures, and the one that became a woman, but technally thats a Jenner.

Didn't they get their break because their dad or uncle or something was a lawyer on the OJ Simpson case?

I should have read on.

I was thinking about these over the top idiots the other day. We have come a long way since Kenneth Wolstenholme and Brian Moore. Unfortunatley not for the better.

Indeed. "Hit with the outside of the boot - that's the part I like."

I don’t know. But I think the parents were mixing in celebrity circles before the OJ business.

Men who can't kick a football. Carl Froch on Soccer Am just now. I've lost all my respect for him.

I was distraught yesterday when I skewiffed a wild left foot attempted curler through an open gate whilst working at a school, only to miss the target by sodding miles. In my defence it was a wet sponge ball and I was in my steel capped work boots but nonetheless it was a horrific attempt and brought much shame on somebody who played at a decent level for a lot of years. Luckily there were no witnesses to this or the slight limp that followed it.

I don't know why, but this report on our local news site about a power outage last night:

Officials with SCE received reports of the outage shortly after, determining that approximately 4,201 customers had been impacted by the Newhall power outage.

Is it me, or is 4,201 not "approximately" but in fact rather exact?

I’ve heard crap and arse on the 6pm BBC News and Radio 4 comedy at 6.30pm. Pissed at this time of night! Not worthy of an apology.

Avoiding the Ireland France score because I recorded it to eventually find out that they showed the 2nd half on a different channel. C*ntitude of the highest order from BBC.

Think she picked these up from Morrisons or B&M store, dirty bastard things making it all sweet and horrible when you have the misfortune to allow one to slip by the vetting process. Sainsbury's ones are decent apart from the hunt the one split cashew bun fight between me and the missus.

How difficult it is to buy anything on Amazon without joining Prime. Probably just me being of a certain age. Annoying though.
