Ah, the One Sentence Weasel wakes up. Ten words and three full stops, better than usual :p

EDIT. Actually I take back what I said above and apologize. I dont want to fight continuously, and I dont want to be nasty to anyone. Sometimes events get ahead of us and I know am very far from perfect. We have different ideals but perhaps that comes from the differing environments we inhabit. I hope you take this in the spirit it is intended

I will watch more of this round Britain travel show if I can catch it when it is :jerkit:on. I will wait for the hetro white male presenter to host an episode.

I am aware that a good amount of this kind of telly is presented by exactly that kind of profile...but it doesn't mean that the BBC needs to compensate for all other failings.

I guess I can file it in the same drawer as the Áfrican Footballer Awards...and their ridiculously commissioned and skewed Workplace articles.

EDIT - I apologize to you LF in similar fashion to what I said to Wolfie below. The whole world has moved on in the last 20 years or so, and whilst I am well up to speed with that, such was not evident from my recent postings. Similar considerations to Hong Kong HG, Brighton and the others, although I am sure that I will still be taking you all on over the coming years

I disagree that I am being a Dick...and I think I can find stuff to back up my argument against the BBC.

I feel the last year or so has seen a real knee jerk reaction from certain oeganisations in an attempt to correct injusticies. The clearest is the massive foot in the mouth BAFTA lifetime achievement award....I thought that was premature regardless of the scandal.

I am also not your BBS enemy Timbo.

Why would people want to be in a clique. It is very possible to have a view that racism is aborrent but overly pushing diversity is also wrong.

I feel questioning that is neither being a Dick or being narrow minded. More the opposite. Being narrow minded is not even questioning things because you are scared of being on the wrong side of the debate.

I thought he first came to general notice as part of the Wheelchair Basketball team on one of those BBC snippets between programmes?

Why have people got denser during 'lockdown'.

I admit I have to see more shows....but I guess the time of the Michael Palin type of TV traveller is coming to an end.

At least for any 45 year old + white bloke (the source of all the world's problems) who fancies working for the BBC or The Guardián....personally I would call that exclusión.

You should retract that...I we can all just see you as a la

I thought the guy in question was great. I made an effortto tune in the next week expecting it to be the same presenter. I was disappointed it wasn't.

My observation was that the next presenter on the rotation, using the same vehicle, was also a minority. What are the odds that that is just casual chance with the population breakdown in the UK.

I am not advocating that the BBC commission Bernard Manning or Charlton Jim to do an episode....but I would be interested in their line up of presenters.

That is very naughty on your part. And makes you a liar.

My mother-in-law used to walk up mountains in flip-flops. When I asked if this was entirely wise, the answer was it's an improvement on the bare feet she used to do it with as a young woman.

Van drivers. One parked in a long wheel base vw over the zig zags right by the crossing, another parked on the bend on top of the traffic lights so buses could not get past and then another decided he was not going to stop even though he had a row of parked cars on his side of the road.

My initial gripe is when you're waiting on the platform for the 8:06 to Waterloo. You've arrived at 8:02 but having spent years getting this train you know that by standing in front of the 'Putney station' sign you'll be directly inline with the doors.

However come 8:05 there are a group of a-holes that feel they have a right to simply walk in front of you and stand waiting in the place we both know as being ideal to board the train.

Scum. Sub human scum.

Surely standing in line with, but in front of the sign is far inferior to standing in line with the sign, but at the edge of the platform?

Big problem for me, I seem to require 75% more gravy on my food than most human beings.

It has to cover every item of food completely, with an overflow reservoir on the plate, preferably with some left in reserve on the table.

Roast dinners with communal gravy boats are a psychological minefield for me, as I monitor everyone's gravy usage, calculating how much will be left by the time it gets to me. If I'm near the front of the line, I'm faced with the choice of ******* up everyone else's gravy allocation at the expense of safeguarding my own gravy requirements, or altruistically scaling back my gravy usage to socially acceptable levels, but to the detriment of my meal.

I usually choose to **** up everyone else's gravy allocation.

The key to easily peeling boiled eggs is to use the freshest ones for other methods of cooking, and the older ones for boiling. The shell comes off easier the older the eggs are

You don't have to do much. When the pan has finished boiling the eggs, take it off the heat and then immediately run it under cold water.

Give it a minute or so then take an egg out and smack it on the counter and roll it in the palm of your hand on the counter.

The shell is dead easy to peel off then so just pop it back in the pan to cool off.

Easy. :p

Him : I need to ask you a few security questions so you can prove who you are
Me : There are a lot of scams going on, you first need to prove that you are from British Gas.
Him : I just stated I'm from British Gas
Me : And I can similarly state that I am who you want to speak to
Him : That's not how it works for us
Me : Yeah, same for me, mate.

******* dickhead.

Yeah, I know. They have dicked me around so much, I was happy to be obtuse. But he didn’t seem to even understand the point I was making, that according to ‘his rules’ any old stranger could call me & expect me to provide him with loads of information whilst he could simply state ‘I’m from British Gas’ & I should believe him.

How did it go wrong Cary. Over done ? Don't let it ruin your day fella. Just think this time last week......oh maybe not then :sob:

In certain circumstances, such as if he supports Manchester United and has no connection to Manchester. Gents over the age of 65, however, can support Manchester United without any fear of criticism from me; their age makes it possible that they genuinely fell in love with the club when it was a club of genuinely talented, modest superstars.

Just buy one of those hanging blue element insect crematoriums. They're excellent. Sizzle, sizzle.

Olympics Opening Ceremonies: Competitors, leave your mobile 'phones in your pockets or the changing rooms. Any videos you take on them whilst you are supposed to the be object of the global audience's attentions are bound to be a bit rubbish, and you'll probably never watch them again. Just buy a DVD of the ceremony to remember it by.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who just doesn't get the hype around these opening ceremonies. The biggest waste of a few hours TV programming.

60 minutes of boring and incomprehensible "interpretive dance", followed by the athletes parade (see above), followed by 60 minutes of tedious formalities, and rounded off with a fireworks display.

I'd gladly pass it all up for 5 minutes coverage of actual sport (almost any sport).

I actually don't mind the ceremony itself - although it is one of those programmes you tend to have on in the background whilst doing something else - it's just the competitors holding their mobile 'phones aloft that I find annoying.

I don't even mind if a group of them want to take commemorative pictures of themselves and their mates at the (much less formal) closing ceremony - it's just the aimless videoing in the formal opening ceremony that makes me go a bit Stellavista.

One of the joys of the Olympics (summer and winter) is that you get watch some seriously marginal sports every fours years that you wouldn't otherwise have any interest in. I always think that curling is a good example of this.

Wanker is non gender specific. The only thing you can call a bitch is a female dog!

It is, however a pejorative term almost exclusively used for males, as is 'arsehole'.

Here's one for you all...and this must bug more than just me.

How long it will take the Mods, the Superwebmonkey or whatever to merge the EUROS thread back into the World of Football or somesuch.

Previous things of this type stayed on the main menu probably six months past it's shelf life date.

Probably when they remove the poll that informs us all that the majority of our fans want Steve Mandanda as our first choice shot stopper;)
