Strengths:
Kolb has good size and build for a NFL quarterback and excels at throwing short to mid-range passes. He can throw the ball on the move and is a threat to run with the ball if necessary. Kolb is a great leader and has started for four years at Houston. He would be an ideal West Coast quarterback once he learned the system.

Weaknesses:
Kolb did not play in a pro style offense at Houston and would have to learn the NFL style of progression and reads. He is unlikely to become an elite vertical passer. He must work on improving his mechanics, as he has a tendency to wind up too much. Kolb has as tendency to go to a three quarters delivery that causes the ball to get batted down at the line of scrimmage.

Overall:
Kolb was productive at Houston, but that was in a shotgun based, short throwing offense. He would have to take the time to learn the pro style offense, and his lack of arm strength will limit his ceiling. The question on Kolb will be if his success was due to the system or if he can mature into a solid NFL starter.

Im really excited to see what Kolb does for us, a couple of years ago I didn't want the bloke anywhere near starter but now after a couple of good performances last season and with the way we ended the season I'm excited for the change. I have seen a couple of interviews with him over the last couple of days and he seems like a very genuine bloke, likes to work hard and is driven to succeed. My main concern is our fans getting on his back and applying more pressure than necessary, if that happens then it could be a short lived career fr him as a starter in Philly.

As Ardeo said a couple of pages back, I'm more worried about our D this year, Sheldon is a big loss, we haven't (too date) replaced Dawks, and our linebackers are poor still although with the return of Bradley they'll be bettter than last year but still need a bit of bolstering in the draft. If the D performs like it did in some games last season (Giants game springs to mind) then Kolb is going to have so much more pressure on him to perform as we'll constantly need to outscore teams.

A new era though and one I am very excited about, looking forward to mine and Ardeos trip out there even more, that's for sure.

If you aren't replacing Brown with someone half decent, then you need to get at least one decent safety.

Hobbs will be thrown at all year opposite Samuel, like he was in NE. But in NE, he had Rodney Harrison helping him on big receivers. If Austin lines up on Hobbs, be afraid as Hobbs lines up 10 yards off a receiver. His slants will kill the Eagles against Hobbs.

Our schedule is our biggest challenge of all, needless to say I don't think you can ask for a tougher task for Kolb. I'd like to see us go 8-8 in our first year with KK.

The key thing for you is that Kolb stays healthy through the off-season and gets used to his weapons.

I'm with you on that. It's definitely our secondary that needs sorting out big time. Free safety and corner really are HUGE gaps in the team. Having said that our linebackers other than Bradley are toilet and a new defensive end to compete with Tapp wouldn't go amiss either.

On the other side of the ball the o-line still doesn't fill me with confidence especially with Jackson missing at center. Another thing people seem to have overlooked is our lack of depth at wide receiver. Getting rid of Brown and Curtis leaves us lacking in numbers if we have another injury hit season like last year.

We do have 11 picks overall and 5 in the first 87 so hopefully we'll make good use of the draft and some trades. I'll be over the moon with anything over a 500 season.

Having a weak Safety doesn't help Asante either. He needs to be able to take risks on a receiver knowing that if he jumps a route and gets beat, then the Safety is able to make the tackle.

Bell and Weaver should be good enough on 3rd downs but Buckley is decent backup. Plus we can always throw Vick on in short yardage scenarios. Having said all that we are shite on 3rd and 4th down so it probably won't even matter who's got the bloody ball!

Exactly. Samuel is a ball hawk plain and simple. Tackling ain't really his thing. I would like to see us use our picks to jump up and get Berry. 99% sure it won't happen but we are the only team outside the top ten giving him a workout so you never know!

You'd probably have to give up your first and both seconds to get up to 4 where you could take him. I think the Chiefs take him at 5. But, if they go OT, you might be able to swing a trade with Seattle at 6, because Cleveland are crying out for a Safety and want Berry.

He hates contact which is why he doesn't really go up and fight for the ball for Picks.

But, he gets in great positions and has got the instincts of Ed Reed.

Eagles did not want to see a Sam Bradford/Mike Shanahan union. By trading them McNabb, Redskins don't have ammo to trade up to No. 1 anymore

Schefter is getting more ridiculous as this off-season goes on.

The Rams wouldn't have traded out of #1 anyway. Not without getting 2 firsts and a second. They love Bradford just as much.

And anyway, they're giving Washington a proven QB who has talent as well as letting them keep their first rounder from this year and next. Rather than an unproven QB who has talent minus the draft picks.
