Of course he has the ability to play QB, you don't just lose it like that. Teams just don't want the aggro that goes along with Vick, the demonstrations, the boos, the petitions and debates, he can play QB in the league for sure.

I thought Leinart was meant to be quite good though? |
He was a half-decent passer in his prime.
His accuracy was awful last year on the few passes he threw. He's not as quick as he was before he became a murdering bastard. He will never be a decent starter in this league. |

Has a NFL record of 21 games 14 TDs 17 INTs 3,458 yards. Last season was Jake Delhomme's worst by a long way, so i'd still rate him as a better QB as one bad year doesn't make you a bad QB. In terms of Vick, he's obviously going to be a bit rusty, but I imagine this year he will look a lot sharper, and its not easy just throwing the odd pass now and again throughout the season in actual game situations. Think he could still do a better job than many starting QBs out there. |
Lets rule out teams for Vick to start at.
The obvious: Patriots, Colts, Saints, Vikings, Bengals, Steelers, Ravens, Dolphins, Jets, Broncos, Chargers, Titans, Texans, Giants, Cowboys, Redskins, Bears, Lions, Packers, Falcons, Cardinals, Rams. The unlikely: Browns (Dawgpound y'all), Chiefs (Cassel), Jaguars (Garrard), 49ers, Seahawks (both have QBs in place. Looking at Clausen), Bucs, Panthers Possibles: Rrrrrrrrrrraiders, Bills(looking at Clausen), Eagles. |
Why rule out Vikings, Dolphins, Broncos, Bears, Lions and Rams?
Can see why the unlikely teams might take a punt on him too. I'm not advocating him as a starting QB for most teams, but he could certainly provide good competition for the starters role at a lot of teams. He may not play but he may spur someone onto better performances. |
Lions - Matt Stafford.
Rams - Sam Bradford. Bears - Jay Cutler. Dolphins - Chad Henne. Broncos - Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn. I think Quinn will be a stud in McHoodie's system. Vikings - I don't think he fits in their system. They've got their 2 playmakers in Peterson and Harvin. Then they've got a quality TE and Sidney Rice. They need either a top level QB or a game-manager. Vick is neither. |

Vick can do a job for a lot of teams, I think he'll be happier staying in Philly now McNabb has gone as he'll know that Kolb could easily get benches if he doesn't cut the mustard like he is expected too eventually.
You can't rule out the Vikings, they need a QB, regardless of who. You can't rule out the Rams, picking Vick up before the draft and then allowing them to pick Suh with their first pick would make them a lot stronger than if they were only to get an inexperienced Bradford. You can't rule out the broncos or bears as Orton and Cutler didn't exactly set the world alight last season, granted they need a lot more time than 1 season but some managers/owners don't want to wait. Dolphins are all about running the football, everyone knows how quick aNd agile Vick is, with him lined up along side Brown in Wildcat they could do some serious damage. There are many teams who could do with No.7 but none of them want to gamble, if he had been used more last season instead of just gimmicky plays then I have no doubt that the offers would have been piling in for him, he Can most definitely do a job for a lot of teams in the NFL. Personally I think we'll keep him now, he's the best backup QB in the NFL and as shown on a few occasions in 09 he can be very dangerous. |
The Wildcat is dead.
Pat White's even given up on it. Hence his tweets about wanting to play baseball instead. Vick is the Ultimate Wildcat guy. But if you play an accurate passing game like most teams are all about, then he is no use. Rams will take Bradford. They missed out on Ryan and Sanchez. They'll now get the best college QB for years.... IMO. |
